pessimistic usually, i find it helps me to think of the worst possible scenario when i do things, then whenever anything better happens its good, and if the worst happens it's what i was expecting

optimistic is just the opposite of what i said above / me - i couldn't do it 'cause I'd get let down so much

depression must suck to have it proper, feeling down/shit is bad enough
