General Discussion / Re: Kepler: A planet like Earth
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:52:55 PM »Yea, I heard about this. It is so many light years away and they are making a plan or something to attempt to go there...Lets do the math here.
If we where going there at the speed light it would take 600 years(with the average human years being 80 years) It would take six generations to reach it.
Now at possible speeds which we can do in the next 100 years.(roughly 1/16s the speed of light) It would take about 9600 years.
And that's IF we can go 1/16th of the speed of light.
Say we can go 10x the speed of light(Just saying) it would still be about a 60 year trip.
The only way that we can get there is if we find a way to use/make worm holes(Look it up)
Not to be a downer but I'd say it'll take humanity 300 years before we can even start prepping.
I wouldn't limit humanity yet. Our development increases exponentially.
Ignore what bitches tell you.

. I got a B in maths and that is my top subject, due to these computer games I did not revise for maths at all and ended up getting an E grade in mechanics, averaging the total grade to a B because I got two very super high A's in the other chapters. I was predicted 4 A's in Economics, Philosophy, Physics and Maths/Mechanics, luckily my predicted grades are A*AA (Dropped Philosophy, waste of time tbh, still interesting), so I can apply for Maths or Engineering at Cambridge University. But truly I was disgraced, I felt my ambition was over. I felt totally screwed. I was wrong. Don't give up.
