How long have you been Roleplaying? (can be any game): Since i bought gmod (years)
How long have you been playing Serious Gmod RP?: As long as i have had gmod.

Character Area

Authorization(s):

Name: Mat Jefferson
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Loyalist, Ex-Military
What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
My character is Ex British special forces. He was trained in the army, did so well he was taken into special training. He excelled at everything and was sent across the world on missions. At the 7 hour war he want in a city and using his training managed to stay low and where possible help the combine. After the 7 hour war he dumped all his gear and burnt his clothing. Switching to citizen clothing and joining everyone else in following the combine. He needs these authorizations so that if his application into the CCA gets approved he can use his skills he learned in the CCA.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
He will just have a pre-existent knowledge of weaponry, training etc etc. He will just be an instantly good soldier rather than not knowing anything.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Be a good CCA unit and know most of the basic training he already needs such as combat training.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No one but Mat.

How long have you been Roleplaying? (can be any game): Roughly 5 years
How long have you been playing Serious GMod RP?: Roughly 4 years

Character Area

Authorization(s): Ex-MI6 operative

Name: Jack Simon
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Citizen
What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
The Combine allegedly killed anyone who was ex-military. Although MI6 isn't really the military, I reckon it would still warrant as a dangerous organization. Although Jack cut his ties with MI6 when the Combine invaded, I just want to make sure that this is still allowed.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
It would mean he is highly trained with a firearm, has good martial arts skills, reconnaissance skills and is fluent in many languages, but nothing out of the ordinary.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Continue RPing as this character in the well-knowing that such previous affiliations have been authorized as well as the skills that come along with it.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Extra Notes (optional)
Just because he's ex-MI6 doesn't make him invincible. Highly trained firearms skills doesn't mean he can't miss a shot, and highly trained martial arts skills doesn't mean he's suddenly Neo, and won't take a blow.

You have a week to prove this auth will be useful and you wont abuse it.

Character Area

Authorization(s): Resistance Group Headstart

Name: Leonard Wong
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Affiliation: N/A
What has caused your character to require these authorizations?

If the authorizations are accepted, back in early 2015, almost a month after the war, Leonard Wong would have escaped the city with three other  members. One of the members was killed, another was injured. They hid in the slums and canals for almost three months. Every day, they would try to push forward, navigating the network of tunnels, ruined streets, and debris. They came across three other refugees who after lots of information swapping, decided to join Leonard.

They finally made it to the coast line with nothing but non-perishable food items they found on the way. Navigating the coast was dangerous due to antlions. They had to camp out in a small shack for two more months to wait for the cold season. The shack had some food such as dried noodles and cans of soup and beans. The person who was injured died of poisoning during the wait.

They finally made it to a warehouse, luckily, this was an old shipping transit warehouse with an entire shipment of Campbell's products. There was soup, beans, noodles, you name it in the warehouse. Some food was eaten by mice but most of it was still good. Over the winter, they had not yet been detected by overwatch. They built defences around the doors that would kill anyone who entered. Example would be three barrels suspended above the door. They would drop these barrels if anyone tried to enter. The barrels were also full of water to make them heavier.

In the spring, the antlions began spawning. Overwatch was out installing thumpers. There were only two soldiers in that particular location. They erected a thumper but heard a noise in the warehouse. They entered the warehouse to be greeted by a bunch of barrels and a dock pole that swung sideways. Leonard and one of his members made sure the overwatch soldiers were dead by some, err, gruesome tactics. They stripped the soldiers of their armour and weapons. They cleaned the armour in the ocean and to their surprise, fit snugly. It was a bit heavy though.

The soldiers only carried MP7's with three extra magazine each. Leonard and two others decided to head back into the city to get more refugees. It was easier this time and on the way, they collected more ammunition and armour. Leonard's group now was armed and dangerous. In march 2012, they had breached the city. A sweep was called on the outer district. This is where things got frosty.

Leonard and his group was tired from running around in heavy overwatch armour, some barely fit. They camped out in an old apartment block. They heard four units in the block. One of Leonard's members was by the door with her armour off. The sound of buckshot could be heard. The door ripped open, shredding the females upper body to a mangled mess of flesh and bone. Leonard and his other members had their upper armour on and their MP7's ready. The sweeping squad was stunned by the rain of MP7 shots. Three units were deserviced immediately, a fourth ran off, limping. Leonard's group, now three, took the kevlar and ammunition from the units. Leonard found the SPAS-12 with a few shots left and a string with six more shots on it. They mourned the member who was shredded for a few minutes but continued on their mission.

Overwatch was once again called in. Leonard and his other two members, now dressed in lighter kevlar, made base under the floorboards of an apartment. They waited under there for a week with no food and some not so fresh water from the pipes. Things settled down and they crept out from their hiding place, totally exhausted. They headed to one of the old building which had food and to their surprise, found three cans of soup. After recovering with the food, they set out to the central area to find more people. They left their armour and weapons in a safe hiding spot where they could retrieve them later. They decided to enter the central district through the sewers.

Two members remained at the base. They kept the place quiet and undetected for the most part.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
P: Weapons, ammunition, armour, a place to go in outlands
D: One member has an injured shoulder. Target of the union.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Set up a proper, working resistance group.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
Four others, not sure who yet.

Extra Notes (optional)
Depends on what waffle wants, maybe we can finally have an official resistance group.
Pending - The application is pretty solid, but at the moment I'm unsure as to whether I can accept this purely based on my decision.  I'll talk to some other super administrators and RoflWaffle about it then repost the final verdict.

Accepted - pending outlands server.  It will be watched though.

Character Section

Authorization(s): Fluent in Spanish, basic marksmanship skills

Name: Merriam DeSanto
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Resistance (I guess, kinda)

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
DeSanto speaks and writes Spanish fluently as a result of her childhood upbringing; her family was of a Hispanic background. DeSanto also took Spanish classes in high school.

After she graduated from college, DeSanto bought a pistol for self-defense purposes. She received formal instruction on handgun safety, maintenance, and proper firing technique. She practiced shooting at a local firing range and grew proficient in the operation of her pistol.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
DeSanto can communicate with Spanish-speaking characters. Characters who don't know Spanish ICly obviously cannot understand Spanish ICly.
DeSanto has a slight Spanish accent, by which observant people can identify her.

Because of her firearm experience, DeSanto can use limited shoot-to-hit in firefights.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
If DeSanto happens to meet a Spanish-speaking character, they can communicate in their native language. Otherwise, the knowledge of Spanish is simply to flesh out DeSanto's personality and background.

DeSanto's shoot-to-hit ability will rarely be used. The authorization is intended purely for self-defense, and only in the most dire of circumstances.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Extra Notes (optional):
None.

I trust you'll know when to S2K and S2M in regards to your auths.

How long have you been Roleplaying? (can be any game): I'd say for about... 7 or so years, if you mean ANY roleplaying game. Decent roleplaying games? About a year or so. -.-

How long have you been playing Serious GMod RP?: I'd say about 100 or so of my 500 GMOD RPing hours. I was brought up on DarkRP, unfortunately. Thankfully, I played some serious IRL roleplaying games which kicked those old habits.

Character Area

Authorization(s): Advanced knowledge of the three basic sciences.

Name: Albert Zeitspien
Age: 48
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Citizen/Loyalist
What has caused your character to require these authorizations?

Albert is a very playful person at times, and enjoys tinkering with inventions, as well as indulging in the other sciences. Obviously, as he used to work in Black Mesa his job was his hobby and losing that stung for him.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
P: Can salvage parts from various sources and utilise them in creating inventions, primarily of a mechanical nature. (I tested creating a little Slum Pet, "Puppy", a washing machine on wheels - went down really well, but was told to get auths).

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Create basic little contraptions as a means of creative outlet for Albert and a way to entertain and bring joy to the people of the slums.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Extra Notes (optional)
Once again, the Puppy Washing Machine Creation really pleased a lot of people and created quite a stir with the CCA and with other players.

With regards to my backstory, I know I've said I'm a doctor and a Black Mesa scientist, I'll explain:-

Albert was a scientist of all trades, but specialised in Biology. He went on to become a doctor, and finally a cheif-of-medicine at a hospital. During his time there, he was approached to join Black Mesa, which he gladly accepted.

Back story modification - I left Black Mesa about 5 years before the resonance cascade events (the events of HL1) - as such, there were no records of my ever being a Black Mesa Scientist, so I was never tracked down by the military, and I was not a resonance-cascade escapee. Also, OOC, I have completed my GCSE's and have enough knowledge of the topics and of common sense to know what I can and can't build/make.

Also, an admin at one point nearly took away my pet flags when it came to Puppy, but let me keep them as long as I stop asspulling, which I have done - thanks, whoever that was.

Your backstory has a major flaw. Anyone affiliated with the black mesa incident was found by the military pre war. Hence, all black mesa employees were killed apart from the 6 canon characters, Gordon, Mossman, Elie, Kleiner, Magnessun, and Barny. I have a question for you. How do I know you OOCly have a strong knowledge of Bio, Chem, and Physics? OOC knowledge is required to have IC knowledge.
Pending... ~Statua

The nessacery changed have been made. I await your response.

Just remember that black mesa employees were sworn to secrecy so anything you saw in there you keep to yourself. If you had to keep it to yourself for five years before the war (which was one year before the resonessence cascade) it would have become a habit to keep information to yourself. Don't asspull materials or "find" rare materials.
Accepted ~Statua

Thanks, I won't.

Authorization(s): Bachelor's degree in nuclear physics

Name: Hayden MacMillan
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Citizen, soon to be refugee

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?

I guess I'll start with a backstory.

Hayden MacMillan was born on a snowy day in 1984 at Edinburgh General Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland to Nile MacMillan, an engineer in the Royal Air Force, and Marie MacMillan, a housewife. Hayden's father had worked for the Royal Air Force for the past ten years repairing a conundrum of various different aircraft, particularly small fighters. When Hayden was five, he gained interest in his father's work, and he often went along with his father to watch him work. A year later, Nile suffered a terrible accident. When welding two pieces of metal together, he forgot to put his mask on. When he turned the welding instrument on, the flares flew off the metal and into his face, giving serious burns that would be permanent. Nile was off work for six weeks recovering, and when he went back, he was told he was replaced, and that he was no longer needed. Nile went to work at a coal mine for five years until a premature mesothelioma diagnosis was made. Nile wasn't far into to process of the disease, so he would probably be okay, if he listened to his doctor and quit work, which was where the asbestos causing the development of the disease came from. He ignored his doctor's advice and continued working at the mine for another five years until death, at the age of fourty-six.
Meanwhile, Hayden was sixteen and progressing through highschool swell. He wasn't star student, but he wasn't far from it. He maintained an A minus average for most of his classes until graduation. Hayden wasn't sure what line of work he wanted to get into. He had worked at the coal mine when not in school, for the past two years to maintain income. But he didn't want to remain at the coal mine, seeing how it killed his father. So, Hayden quit his job at the mine, and got a job at a local hot dog joint. He was happy with his work, because he felt his mother needed the help with income, after she took a job as a nurse at EGH. However, when his mother learned that he was only keeping the job for her, she secretly got a loan from the local bank for Hayden to go to college. Hayden wasn't sure what he wanted to study, and he thought hey may want to go into the field of engineering, but he soon found his calling. After watching and reading about nuclear physics and nuclear engineering he was soon interested. He took up a major in nuclear physics and a minor in nuclear engineering at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Canada, and stayed in college for four years, gaining a bachelor's degree.
After completing college, he returned to Scotland. A representative of the Royal Navy was looking through files of former engineers, and came across Nile's. He dug further and noticed that Hayden was Nile's son, and seeing his credentials, he pulled some strings and got Hayden enlisted into the Navy as a nuclear engineer, working on developing nuclear submarines and weapons to be launched from them when necessary. During the Seven Hour War, Hayden was lucky to not be killed, because he wasn't considered active, and therefore wasn't deployed.
Hayden keeps his work private, afraid that his credentials may make him a target of interest to the Combine. He is currently working on a devise powered by uranium that, if it worked, may be able to take down Combine technology within a defined radius for short amounts of time.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Knowledge about nuclear physics and nuclear engineering, and the ability to recognize and be able to work with nuclear material, given the proper circumstances.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
ICly work on developing said radar blocking weapon.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Extra Notes (optional):

When you find uranium, make another auth to explain how you found it in a stable condition without killing yourself with radiation. It's also only been one year since the war so work on this project wouldn't be too far in.
Accepted with changes ~Statua

Authorization(s):

Name: Alex Hitchens
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Affiliation: N/A

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
*This backstory depends on if the authorisations are accepted*
Back in the winter of 2015 only a few months after the war, Alex escaped to the canals with 2 other people, only one was injured. Every day they tried to get closer to the coast passing through the large networks of sewers and tunnels along the way making small camps and trying to get as much sleep as possible. Along the way they found no edible food but at one point they managed to catch a small rat which they ate, bones and all. They met few other refugees’ on their way but those they did meet they shared as much information as they could and continued on their way.
Alex and one other made it to the coast but the other, injured man died from a wound injection in the sewers, not surprising but it was a big setback. Once on the coast other 2 managed to find a ship on the beach. Once inside they found a large amount of dried and tinned foods with military markings. They quickly made camp in the ship, searching it as they went for any weapons as it was an ex military ship. They found nothing.
Over the next few months they made 'alterations' to the ship which they thought may be useful later. They managed to survive on the dried foods in the winter until spring came. When it did the antlions started to spawn and a few often came onto the ship. Alex and the other man managed to defend it using whatever they could get their hands on. They kept the antlions they killed as food to make sure they didn’t use all their dried food. But one day, the antlions just stopped. Overwatch had been and installed thumpers but luckily they hadn’t detected Alex or the other man.
But after a few weeks the thumper stopped and of course overwatch came to sort it out. Only 3 units came to fix it but this time they noticed heard a noise from the ship. A Couple of units went to investigate while the other continued work on the thumper. As they got onto the ship they split up, the first one breached a door and was met by the roof collapsing on him. The other unit as he heard this, moved to the other unit not realising the loose panel beneath him which caused him fall down into a small pit of metal pipes. Both units were killed but the third unit was moving in. Alex managed to get to the pit where one unit died and took his SMG and some clips. As the other unit got onto the ship he was met by a barrage of smg bullets. Alex wasn’t the best shot but was at least able to control the gun enough to kill the unit.
Knowing that more overwatch may be on their way Alex and his friend quickly packed as much food as they could then took the weapons from the dead units and the armour from 2 of them. It was heavy but it may save their lives. Once they had everything they quickly headed back for the tunnels they used to get to the coast, thankfully the thumpers held back most of the antlions.
It was easier getting back into the canals this time but Alex and the other member quickly got tired as they has a lot of weight on them. They decided they would hide a small cache of food and the spare smg for later use. They then set about breaching the city. In the summer of 2016 they breached the city undetected. They stayed in the slums in an old warehouse for a few weeks. They managed to barricade every door but one and they made defences in front of the door.
A week after getting into the city and being in the warehouse a sweep was called for the city. The warehouse in which Alex and his friend were hiding was targeted by 4 units. They breached the door, all rushing in, the last thing they expected was the barrage of bullets they had fired at them. 2 died instantly, one ran off, injured and the other was finished by Alex as he rolled on the floor in pain. Alex and his friend quickly took the weapons from the units including a shotgun and some pistols as well as a lot of ammunition. They then changed their armour for the units lighter Kevlar. They then quickly made tracks, they decided the city would be on high alert and the canals would be the best place for them to help.
They once more got out of the city and back into the sewer system. They pushed through and on the way took their cache they stored as they were now low on food. They then moved into the canals through the sewer network. On the way they put a few of their spare weapons and ammunition into safe spots as caches for later use. They managed to make camp in the outlands, they made sure they were ready for the overwatch and for any other refugee's they may find.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects? Weapons, armour, ammunition and a place in the outlands as a base.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Set up another resistance group. Not a rebellion, a resistance.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
I have one other person with me. I haven’t currently decided on who that would be.

Extra Notes (optional):
this is up to rofl and rtlk, statua said that I could set up another resistance if I could come up with a good enough story and it was acceptable.

Accepted for 2 vests.

NOTE: This application was accepted before the restrictions on vests.

Character Section

Authorization(s):Basic skills with handguns.

Name:Kai Lam
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Refugee

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?

Before the 7-Hour War and the Combine Occupation(?), my character, Kai Lam, was tied in with the Triads, he was a "Red Pole" (Also known as an "Enforcer") in the smuggling section of the Triads. Due to the importance of the packages they smuggled (Mainly drugs and large amounts of counterfeit goods) they were issued with handguns, and they were to use them if necessary.
As a "Red Pole"/"Enforcer"(Whichever you prefer), Kai Lam was given more training with the pistol than the other lower-ranked Triad Members due to his importance in controlling some operations.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks: Knowledge on how to use pistols correctly, occasionaly S2H-ing at close range during fire fights.(I don't know, everyone 10-15 or so shots one will hit?)
Defects: Upon marrying his wife, Kai Lam made a vow never to take a human life again, to escape from his life of crime, so he has some issues regarding killing anyone.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Self-Defense, occasional Shoot-2-Hit in fire-fights.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
Nope.

Extra Notes (optional):
My character can only use handguns effeciently, all other weapons he would be unfamiliar with and I would be Shoot-2-Miss(ing) with them.

Authorization(s):
-Ability to use and build a crossbow and bolts (The ability doesn't require any type of blackmarket flags, it only gives me authorization to say that I build it and aswell have the ability to roleplay blacksmithing ammo for it.)
-Ability to wear metal plated resistance armour
Name:
Frank Dorco
Age:
54'ish
Gender:
Male
Affiliation:
Easy Station
What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
During the pre-war times Frank Dorco had a blacksmithing anvil and furnace in his small garage as a hobby while he worked at the local hunting shop. He worked on replica armor to making farm supplies and usually took a lot of custom orders. When Frank first got himself into the outlands he knew that he will face many dangers on his way to find a new home. With his previous experience as a blacksmith he thought that he might have the ability to set up a proper work station to start his attempt at creating a working crossbow. He decided to look for a place deep within the maze of the sewers and store his finding there. The first item he started looking for was a large solid peice of iron or metal. It took him a day to go out and find a broken off piece of a armored combine chopper. The denseness of the metal could be used as an anvil for forming the metal on and some of the piece can be formed into a hammer, with improper surfaces and tools blacksmithing can be twice the challenge as it was before so forming a proper anvil took a very long time for him to get it working. He used a sharp piece of metal to hunt antlions and whatever may come across his path for food and energy while his water came from the juices of bloody antlion. He went out for a three day challenge to find strong metal for a furnace that can get ridiculous hot and something to bump the air into the coals. The challenge for finding the materials necessary for a hot enough furnace to forge metal was completed after he came across an old broken down house with a fireplace bump inside, the labor required him a few weeks in order to complete. The work he accomplished led him to the idea of creating some sort of metal plated Armour pieces from broken down combine metal, the only problem he ran into was the fact that a piece of non-rusted combine metal was a rare fine. The metal he used for the anvil would not due at all for the metal he needed for the crossbow and the metal plates. The only way to find a non-rusted combine metal was to get out of the deep canals and get on the dangerous surface where there are overwatch patrols and FALCON units overlooking the outlands. As he walked strategically along broken down buildings and avoiding OW patrols he found nothing for many days. Of course, after time he came across a broken down APC a OW patrol left behind in order to continue. Now the challenge would getting a good salvageable chunk of metal from this dense-ass combine APC. He decided to created a winch type device from a crowbar he found in a close by building and used the weight of his body to pull off metal from around the tire area. This process was tiresome and required a few days in order for him to finally get enough metal for the metal plates and the crossbow.
The walk back required four straight days of avoiding OW patrols and helicopters through stealth. He faced a few near death experiences as he ran out of food or water, at one point drinking dirty canal water in order to survive. Once he made it back to his old spot he instantly started working on forging the crossbow and metal plates, this process required many constant hours of work as it was a very tough job to do with under temperature metal and an improper equipment. Once he finished making the crossbow the next challenge was to find clothing and stripmetal in order to create a metal string for the crossbow and metal bolts to fit the 12" barrel. This wasn't as a tedious job as the previous mission but it was difficult. He was got an old jacket from a dead body that was shot through the head with a clean sniper round, he decided to wear it for now to keep him protected (whatever it protected him from). The metal required for the strip metal wasn't a real hard thing to find. He simply found an old shopping cart and took it back with him. Once he was able to get forging again he created the wheel's for the compound crossbow and melt the small pieces of metal in order to get a stubborn stretchy metal to make sure it shoots at a reasonable distance. The next task was to start sowing the metal plates into the jacket properly in order to get a comfortable yet strong armored suit. This process simply required him to create a jiggy-rigged needle from some extra scrap metal he had and basic sowing skills. He ate and sowed as he let the metal melt in the forge for the 12" bolts. He scrapped out an outline for it on an old rock so that he can produce the metal bolts properly. Once he finished the jacket he decided to use natural dyes like antlion blood in order to give it a camo look to it for maximum stealth. For awhile, he enjoyed his creation with the crossbow but soon noticed that it was not the strong thing against any type of tough skinned animal. This is where he got the idea to find some sort of heating device for it, once again another adventure out to the outlands. He felt the best way to have the bolt spontaneously heat up was to use electrical energy. He looked through a few houses and found himself an old 12v RayOVac lantern battery. Sadly, the old battery was dead when he found it and tested it on the surprisingly intact lamp. This was a major disappointment but he knew that this is really the only type of battery that will fit perfectly on the crossbow so he had to find a way to get the battery working and to recharge it. He decided to bring it back to his place and see if he can try getting it working. He attempted to empty the battery fluid into a bucket of canal water in order see if he can refill it from a hopefully working car battery. This process was very dangerous considering he was using acidic elements in order so it was necessary for him to use some clothing to cover his hands. After he finished re-filling the battery he attempted to find a way to recharge to battery juice. He doesn't know much chemistry but he knew that lemons and potatoes contain small amounts of energy. He also knew that crashed helicopters might have some sort of power source but the required technical skills he might not have. Once again, he decided to go out going closer to the city through the canals hopes to find something that would power his battery. After a day of searching the canals he found nothing besides a dirty pair of binoculars sticking half out of the dirt with one of the sides broken. He thought that it might have a use when he need's to scout or something so he decided to keep it. Frank figured our that any type of battery found in the canals would probably be water damaged and not work at all so he decided to find his way to the surface. He knew the surface would be dangerous to travel but he had no other option, he searched for days for a broken down anything that might have what he need's. Most of the car battery's were dead or very low on battery so he was forced to continue on. As he got closer to the city he found an old auto shop that must've been one of the few buildings that didn't get fucked over by the combine. He decided to search for anything there that might be able to power his battery. As he searched he found a stash of new car battery that might work. He decided to test them by the only way he knew how, get two pieces of metal and if it shocks him then it works, if it doesn't then it's dead. He repeated this process until he found a working battery giving him a good jolt. Avoiding the OTA and timing his travels he got back to his sewer in a couple of days and charged the battery with the car battery he found. Finally, after testing the crossbow he was able to get it to heat up to a good 128 Celsius making it a very dangerous bolt going through the thick skin of his prey.  He went out for a testing run and felt something was missing, he thought: "Wait! Binocular scope would help me scout prey". He quickly used melted metal and attacked one of the binocular scopes to the top of the crossbow. The crossbow looked good. He made some slight fixes to its structure and the crossbow was a pretty legit weapon.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
The ability to create a build crossbows and crossbow ammo. This will be very limited and the process to build the crossbow will take several days to finish if not more.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I will mostly use the crossbow for hunting and generally whatever it may call for. Crossbow ammo will be limited so using the crossbow will be on rare occasion.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.
Extra Notes (optional):
I already have a crossbow and some ammo, I might request more ammo from an administrator after I go through the process of making it and scrapping metal for the bolt.

Vest authorization is accepted, crossbow is accepted.(check with status for verification)

Crossbow accepted. ~Statua

NOTE: This application was created before the no vest's allowed restriction.

Name:Walter Miyamoto.
Age: 29. Remembering more things about his birth by the day.
Gender: Male.
Affiliation:Refugee/non-citizen.

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
Spoiler for Hiden:
If given these authorizations, it would enable my character to establish a small foundation specializing in granting refugees a safe haven. Walter's mentality is as follows: "Every citizen...no...human being that we save constitutes another loss for the Union. If we don't stand up for what we believe in, then we all deserve to die like the rest of our brothers and sisters. I was nothing more than a coward like everyone else, but somewhere, somehow, God remains ever-evident by imbuing me with the courage to stand up against mankind's very oppressors. If I'm going to die today, I die happily as I refused to accept the sinful ways of the Civil Protection...even the Combine themselves. To hell with the "Benefactors". To hell with the cities established to keep all of us in cages. To hell with the Union!"

Part I: The Capture! Walter's initial plight!

To explain the story of a coward-turned-courageous, we must go back to Walter's decision to get away from it all...Back to a cool day in late February of 2015. Walter was sitting on a bench next to an old well in City Eight. Walter had been brought in a month prior, found in an abandoned house near the coast of Tokyo. The circumstances of his capture were unknown, other than his ever-dwindling knowledge of where he lived. He was asleep in a makeshift cot on the floor, with an old kerosene heater keeping him warm. His perishables were buried in a sheet of snow just a short walk away from the house. The front door of the home was boarded up and had stacks of debilitating furniture leaning against it. Walter, a Christian man, kept a cross and a Holy Bible on a table next to his sleeping area. Walter was not a strong man, nor skilled with firearms. He was outstandingly smart and still believes that what he lacks in physical strength he makes up in intellect. Perhaps the water he is now forced to drink had a lesser effect.

And there he slept, relying on stealth alone to stay hidden from the Combine. He let his apprehension seep into his dreams and often suffered from nightmares. He tried to forget them immediately, but this would be a nightmare he did not want to forget. In the middle of the night, he was in another fit. In his dreams, a dragon was swiping at him. He was running frantically down a path in the middle of some fictitious desert. He turned around to face the creature, and it rammed him in the side. He winced and started awake. Through blury eyes, he looked up at the dragon. Somehow, the dragon was not a dragon anymore. It's head became a dim gas-mask, and its red eyes became a dull blue. Its claws became the stock and foregrip of some strange-looking rifle and its tail split into two blue-camouflaged combat pant-legs. Was this a nightmare? Walter had no idea until he was slammed in the face with the butt of the rifle. Darkness.

He awoke in a cold sweat. But where was he? Completely forgetting about the injuries he sustained last night, Walter jumped to his feet. Only then did he feel the sharp pain in his face and at his side. He tried to nurse his injuries as he glimpsed his surroundings. He was in a dimly-lit detainment cell. Slowly, he limped toward the door and looked out through the window. The first thing he saw was a large poster with the Universal Union symbol on it. "God, damn it!" he muttered under his breath. "They got me..." And then he broke down in tears, slumping against the heavy metal door of his cell. "No, no, no, no, no...I'm done for..."

A strange beeping noise brought him out of his crying fit. He glanced up at the electronic lock on his cell and knew it was being unlocked. He crawled onto a small bench in the cell and looked at the figure entering it. The figure turned the cell lights on, causing Walter to squint as his eyes adjusted to the light. Walter eyed the strange person from head to toe: A white PVC-style face-mask; a radio blabbering on with the voices of several others; a black-tinted Kevlar vest; a black uniform with sections of white on the shoulders and the center of the chest; some sort of athletic pants?; black casual shoes; a strange police baton clipped to the side of a duty belt.

"Citizen. What is your name?"

"W-walter... Miyamoto."

"Stay here."

The person left and came back with some sort of scanning module. He pointed it at Walter, causing the mysterious scanner to snap a picture of him. The device spat out a plastic card. The figure put the machine back and as he returned, he held a plain uniform along with the card.

"Citizen. Here is your CID information and a civil uniform. Put these on and report to the check-in line. If you do not cooperate, you will be beaten harshly." Without any further word, the...prison guard, policeman, or even jail warden threw the plastic card and a jumpsuit at Walter.

Walter found no other choice but to cooperate. He slipped into the City Eight-branded jumpsuit and picked up the Citizen Identification card. It read:

Code: [Select]
CITIZEN NAME: MIYAMOTO, WALTER.
CITIZEN IDENFICATION NUMBER: 75612

As he put the card in his right pocket, he stumbled out of the detainment cell and got in line. The line moved rather quickly, probably due to the harsh beatings issued to all citizens who did not get registered in a timely manner. Walter quickly got up to the scanner at the front desk. He inserted his CID card, as instructed, and allowed the machine to scan his retinal patterns. The machine then vibrated slightly and spat out some sort of packet. He limped out of the line and opened his packet as he walked toward the exit. The packet contained a small container of mush (Walter guessed some sort of bean substance) and a small can of water. He looked deeper in the packet to find a smaller packet of coins.

Walter looked up and noticed some identically-dressed people. They walked toward him, telling him to "Keep moving!" in a menacing, computer-contorted voice. He didn't look at them twice. Walter kept walking, taking note of his surroundings. It seemed like some sort of retro train station, with pillars of obsidian holding the structure together. Walter walked outside to discover a small street with many other citizens dressed just like him walking on it. A few beeps sounded, and his attention snapped to the huge loudspeakers and display screen mounted on the side of an old office building.

"WELCOME TO UNIVERSAL UNION METROPLEX C8. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY IN OUR COMMUNITY..."

Walter swore as the mechanical voice seemed to be mocking him. It began rambling on about what were known as Civil Protection teams. So that was what those masked people were called. It so happened that in the next few seconds he would be seeing a lot more of them.

"Citizen. Watch your audio violations."

So, swearing is prohibited...This is going to be a long experience, thought Walter.

Part II: I have GOT to get out of here! Walter's plans for escape!

So, here we are. Walter took another swig of Breen's water and laid back on the bench. The Civil Protection patrols seemed to occur less often around District One, where he was. He stood up and sniffed the stale city air, trying to remember how he got there. But why couldn't he? Perhaps he could find an answer if he tried, but yet he could no longer concentrate on anything. Where did that great mind of his go? Oh well, no time to think about that anyway, he thought. And so, he resigned himself to moping about the Civil Housing projects. On his way back to his apartment, he bought a UU-issue notebook and a pen from a faceless street vendor.

Walter felt thirsty when he reached his floor. Damn, I didn't drink anything today and now I have a saw-blade of a headache,he thought. As Walter was about to fall asleep on his uncomfortable mattress, he decided he would make another attempt at thinking. He sat up and concentrated as hard as he could, just for a flicker of a memory. Walter must have been trying for hours (he later notices small dregs of light coming in from his apartment window, signifying the coming morning) before he ever retrieved a glimpse of his past. When he was on the verge of something, he dozed off.

He woke up with an even greater headache and stumbled downstairs. On his way outside he bumped into a citizen. He looked down at his feet and mumbled "Sorry." But then, the citizen turned around and looked Walter in the eyes. This was no ordinary, depressed citizen. This man had the flicker of brilliance in his eyes. He introduced himself as 'Doctor Gregory Mason.'

And so, Walter and the Doctor took a short walk through District One. Dr. Mason explained that he was not officiated or recognized by the Union as a Doctor. Walter decided to keep it a secret and continued talking with the man. Just by holding a conversation with someone of intelligence, Walter's brain was set in motion once more. The Doctor stressed the importance of asking questions. Just the short conversation set off a spark in Walter's mind. A spark that would not go out anytime soon. After about fifteen minutes, the two parted. Walter would never see this person again.

A question was all Walter needed to form. He thought long and hard about it, feeling thoughts coming to him slightly more easily. And then, it hit him:

"What is preventing me from remembering things?"

The answer came slowly to him, but it was the only possible reason:

"It's something I've been eating or drinking. That has to be it. I need to get away from it all, but where will I get food and water?"

Thoughts were now coming to him at a slightly faster rate. Nothing comparable to a completely normal person, but it was progress. Progress...progress...progress that had to continue at all costs. So, Walter decided to slip into the Slum area clutching a large sum of tokens with him. As he walked past the filthy housing projects, he became nearly overcome by fear. This was hostile territory. He had to be on guard and ready to run if things went wrong. After walking a few blocks into the slums, he bumped into a filthy vendor who sold in the black market.

" 'Eah? What d'you want. I got food..you want food? I got clean water, non' of ta' Union's shit. 'Hear dat stuff makes you f'get e'rrything. I give you summa 'dis real shit if you pay da right price, got it?" he said in poor English.

Looks like Walter hit the jackpot. He had no use for the tokens he had been saving up from each of his rations and was able to stuff a week's worth of food and water into a few Union-issued briefcases. Carefully, he snuck back into his apartment room and opened his briefcases. Immediately he portioned off his food, hoping it would last double the time if he substituted in a little UU-issue Citizen Supplements to make it last longer while not ingesting enough of the food to have much of an effect on his memory.

Over the next week, he had gone through half of his food and water but the risk was paying off. He could start to recall skills he possessed before the war. He remembered the war itself as well. He was continually making progress, and with his regaining knowledge came his growing hatred for his oppressors. He remembered his great aptitude for technology, and even the fact that he had a Master's degree in Computer Sciences. He had also been invited to apply his expertise in America, upon which he earned slight acclaim for his knowledge. While in America, he was even allowed to take some classes at the Alderleaf Wilderness College on the subject of wilderness survival. He learned Basic First Aid and even how to prepare food caught in the forest. It was coming back slowly, but he was developing a purpose. He had to get out of the city. But how? He had not recovered enough of his intellect to formulate a plan. He would have to go back for more food. Luckily he had the tokens.

For the next month he continued his food plan and reversed much of the damage done to him by the UU-issue food and beverage items. He gained more knowledge about his studies and regained quite a few of his skills. He began to think of possible ways out of the city and began creating a mental map of the bounds in which citizens were allowed to move about. Walter was stumped. One afternoon, he nearly screamed out of frustration. Quickly he smothered his face with his pillow to stifle a yell, fearing what would happen if he attracted any attention.

Part III: Progress...

You know, some things just come naturally. Take earthquakes for example. Don't they happen often in Japan? A devastating one occurred about five years prior to Walter's current time. They have the potential to cause massive destruction, but isn't the Union always one step ahead? Have they designed some sort of material that absorbs the shock completely? No way...but even so, this might have been Walter's golden opportunity. You see, we share the ground with a rather unwelcome guest. Guess...antlions. Exogens. Giant bugs. Whatever you name it-they are feared and hated by both mankind and the Combine. But maybe they could work for Walter instead of against them. Whenever they breach a city, shit hits the fan, literally. Mr. Miyamoto would figure this out very shortly.

"WARNING. A JUDGEMENT WAIVER IS NOW IN EFFECT. ALL CITIZENS REPORT TO A UNION-SANCTIONED BUILDING..."

The loud thumping blasted through the entire city, waking every citizen and literally throwing everyone off of their feet. Some citizens looked up and saw the gigantic, intimidating "Citadel" begin moving and lighting up. Walter had never experienced anything like it. Utter chaos was not common in cities that were 'protected' by the Combine. People were being unsuccessfully herded into a neighboring housing block. Even the Civil Protection were running...but from what?

Walter cautiously peeked outside via his apartment window and scanned up and down the huge evacuating crowd. The crowd was so thick that he could not see the cause of danger. But, he could use this chaos to his benefit. Without any further hesitation, he briskly walked back to his small food supply and packed his best quality nonperishable food items (and a few mechanical tools he picked up from the shady dealer) into a small UU-issue backpack. Strapping the backpack on and tightening the straps, Walter knew he had to act fast. He walked out into the hallway, and to his surprise his entire apartment block had already been vacated. That scared him a bit, that he was the last one out. Perhaps the danger had gotten closer?

Walter slipped outside and moved slowly around the frantic crowd of citizens and Civil Protection alike. After about five minutes, the last of the citizens including the weak, the sick, the injured, or the slow were doing their best to keep up with the rest of the hurried civillians. Walter ducked behind the corner of a CWU stand. He peeked around the corner to see about four remaining Civil Protection officers. Their pistols were trained on whatever the threat was. Walter squinted hard, and finally he saw it.

Remember those nasty antlions I mentioned? Yeah, the plaza was FULL of them. For a moment Walter was rooted to the ground in terror as a few beings crashed down on the four officers. They tried to pull off clean shots at the swift creatures, but missed terribly. The antlions jabbed out with their sharp pincers and gruesomely impaled each of the officers. Both species involved in the collision went down with a crash. Immediately, the antlions instinctively jabbed the Protection team until each and every one of them were dead. The attack had spilled a lot of blood and Walter nearly threw up.

"UNIT DESERVICED AT DISTRICT PLAZA-TWO. REMAINING UNITS CONTAIN."
"UNIT DESERVICED AT DISTRICT PLAZA-TWO. REMAINING UNITS CONTAIN."
"UNIT DESERVICED AT DISTRICT PLAZA-TWO. REMAINING UNITS CONTAIN."
"UNIT DESERVICED AT DISTRICT PLAZA-TWO. REMAINING UNITS CONTAIN."

And the irony of it all was that there were no more units to contain the threat. Walter watched as the brutal antlions took to the skies, their wings causing an extremely annoying beating sound as they passed by. They were followed by a mass of airborne antlions. Apparently they were going for the massive crowd of headless chickens that were the citizens. Walter was so overcome by fear that he could not move from that spot. He sat behind that stand for about 20 minutes, watching as the horde slipped away into the darkness of the night.

Come on, Walter! You have to get up! Those things are gone now, Walter tried to think to himself. He finally decided to get up, stretching out his trembling legs. He looked up to the huge Civil Broadcast System as it was blaring:

"AIRWATCH ACKNOWLEDGES CRITICAL EXOGEN BREACH. AIRWATCH AUGMENTATION FORCES DISPATCHED AND INBOUND. ETA TWENTY MINUTES."

That seemed to put a sense of urgency into Walter. If he did not move, chances are he would be lit up by a full-on airstrike. He ran over to the dead Civil Protection units. He could barely stomach looking at their mutilated corpses, but felt little sympathy for them. They were the enemy as Walter had established in his mind. Wait a second, I could use some of this, Walter decided. He held his breath, bent down, and removed the units' radios, stunbatons, zipties, flashlights, and pistols. The items were not as heavy as he imagined, and they fit into his backpack with ease. He also removed the light kevlar vests from the Civil Protection units. He would have to wash the blood off of them, but they were wearable. He folded two of them and squeezed them into his backpack. He also took two duty knives and four clips of SMG ammo from two of the units.

Time to go. I've wasted around two minutes already. Walter ran through the now-vacated District One, into District Two. He saw a second crowd dispersing into an evacuation center. No creatures over here, that's astounding! So, Walter ran to catch up with the crowd. When he reached the doors of the evacuation center, he looked back at the city one last time. Antlions were creeping through into the area. As they began to fly toward the crowd, a huge obsidian door slammed shut in front of Walter. That would hold for a little while. Walter turned back around and saw citizens hurrying into trains. Walter saw a small maintenance hatch close to the rear of the train last in line. He ran to it, using the crowd for cover. When he reached it, he opened it and climbed in. It would allow him to jump out as soon as he needed to.

Part IV: We're not in Kansas anymore!

The trains picked up speed as they left the station. Walter read on the side of the hatch "RAZOR 37868-i4 CIVILIAN TRANSPORT" and guessed these things were called "Razor Trains." They were called that for a reason that Walter would find out. As the trains left the City Eight outskirts, they immediately picked up speed. Walter closed the hatch completely and tightened the lock as much as possible. He could feel the increase in speed, but unlike trains he had been on previously, the speed never stopped increasing! The train kept getting faster and faster, bursts of speed could be felt all the way down the maintenance hatch that Walter was holed up in.

"Damn, how freaking fast are we going? I could have sworn we broke the sound barrier!" Walter said through gritted teeth. The high velocity of the train seemed to glue Walter to the wall. He couldn't move a muscle! After about an hour, the train's speed began to decrease. Walter gained some mobility and in about 20 minutes was able to move around easily. He opened the maintenance hatch to find the train cruising toward another city. The obsidian walls, the barriers, and the feeling of death seemed to be common among cities. Walter needed to get off the train, but it had to slow down first. If he got out now, he might end up greasing the rails. So, he waited for another five minutes until the train was slow enough for entry into the station. As the train approached the station, Walter eyed a large sewer drain. Its hatches were open for some sort of scheduled repair. Walter decided he would have to jump off if he was going to avoid the city.

"Oh, please Jesus! Guide me safely through this..." he prayed. It was time for him to face his fears. He began timing his jump and counted to five in his mind.

Five, four, three, two, one.. JUMP!

Walter hurtled himself out of the maintenance hatch, plummeting down into the dark, damp depths below him. He kept his mouth closed as he dropped, but every one of his senses were on fire and told him to scream out. Walter was terrified and was about to say his goodbyes when he landed at the bottom-

-And hit water. He crashed down into the soaking wet depths of some sort of underground reservoir. Walter did his best to keep his backpack out of the water. Luckily, the stunbatons did not get wet. Holding his backpack up, he swam and swam through the darkness. After 15 minutes of swimming, the water level slowly decreased. Eventually, Walter could stand up and walk through the sewers. Five minutes later, he slipped upon taking another step and slid down a small ramp. He stumbled out and fell in a small puddle of water. Walter slowly rose to his feet to see a low-wattage bulb hanging over his head. He took a right turn and there it was-LIGHT! Walter dashed toward it. When he reached the light he found himself in some sort of canals system. He was overjoyed to finally be out of the city!

Sadly his jubilant exclamations never made it out of his throat. A mysterious figure stepped out of a nearby drainage pipe and darted toward him. Who was this man and was he going to attack Walter?

Part V: Friends in the strangest of places! (Epilogue)

The strange person stopped abruptly and stared at the awkward, cowering Asian man. Walter stared back at the figure, his eyes adjusting to the light. Finally, the man in front of him came into focus.

"Come on, man. You're safe with us. Just follow me," said the man.

"Well, I don't know. How do I know you're not going to rob me?" asked Walter.

"Would you rather be killed by that hunter-chopper right above us? MOVE!" exclaimed the man.

Walter looked up and saw the highly-armored helicopter close in on them. He heard a sound from the chopper suggesting it was charging some sort of cannon up. That was all the encouragement Walter or the man needed to get out of there. They ran as fast as they could, taking cover under the bridge. Instantly, a barrage of glowing "shards" began to rain down on the two. They were briefly protected under the bridge.

"THROUGH THAT DRAINAGE PIPE! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" shouted the man over the blasts fired from the helicopter. They jumped into a drainage pipe and crawled through it. Walter had no choice but to keep crawling and tried to keep up with the man. Eventually they jumped out of the pipe and landed back in the sewers. The man kept moving without another word. Walter decided to keep following him. Soon, they reached a small outpost down in the sewers. There were three others at the station. Walter promptly introduced himself and learned each of their names:
Kenny Troph
Frank Doral
Joel Parkes

Walter was allowed to stay at the station, so he made himself useful. He was able to bring food back to the base, fix the bits of technology in it, and even do some scouting for other resources. Eventually, Walter proved his worth and was granted admission into the group. He was able to put some use into the Civil Protection vests he brought with him from City Eight. Together, the four of them spray-painted the vests with a green camouflage pattern.

The group, even today, is nameless. They mainly direct newly arriving refugees to safe havens across the outskirts of City Eighteen. They don't openly rebel against the Combine, but rather protect refugees from them. They act as defenders, saviors, and guardian angels to survivors of the cities.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks- Able to help people more openly. Better security. Effective squad. Light kevlar. Stunsticks as a melee weapon. Pistols and radios as well.
Defects- Citizens tend to attract a lot of attention. Arrangements will have to be made to have two seperate areas. Vests attract attention.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan to assist the refugee populace in the struggle to avoid the Combine. We will supply refugees with food, water, and some sort of living space. Our group will remain under the radar.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
OOC: |HGN| Skeet Biscuit IC: Kenny Troph
OOC: Bobbe                     IC: Frank Doral
OOC: Cpt. Jack                 IC: Joel Parkes

Extra Notes (optional): I wrote this before Rofl told me you cannot apply for it and that it is all done IC. I took some time to write the story and even if this is denied, I want people to read it and understand the RP behind it. I did put effort into it and there are other auths that I want. They are tied in with the story. Honestly, Rofl, you missed all of the RP we did to start the group up. All we have left to do is enact the making of the vests (which technically is to occur when we act out the epilogue.)

This piece of writing is fucking incredible, and if this auth doesn't get accepted, I don't know what will.
Final decision is pending, Statua and RoflWaffle will need to be consulted...

Accepted for 2 vests.

You have my support. Contact waffle for final verdict. ~Statua

PROLOGUE

Albert Dean sits back, in his chair, thinking! Thinking and thinking... What the has he done? Albert breaths in heavily, his hard pounds as if he is losing his heart. He becomes speechless, mindless, but remembers only one thing about his life... "I'm here to survive you mother fuckers!", screaming in confusion and frustration.
"Guys! I'm here, come down and rain your last words upon me!. Galassi! Max Galassi! Come back for me, you son of a bitch!"
He slams his hands on his desk, noticing the pile of books and the shotgun. He swipes his hand off the table as he takes hold of the shotgun and puts it to his chest, spinning the books straight off the table sliding on his floor. He curls up on the floor, in silence. As he remembers what he has done, he tries to squeeze a tear out... But then... The sound of a voice coder swarms with echo's into Albert's ear.
"Affirmative, prepping to suspect."
The Civil Protection, were here for a visit, at Albert Dean's place. Albert's reactions didn't even lift him off the floor, he just lied there, holding his shotgun tight, shaking. Squeezing in as he hears the words of his death... One final breath, he sinked into to his abyss of the final minute of his life... "INJECT!"
The door blew open as it with greatly force dented itself on the wall as it was breached in... Gunshots sounded...

Chapter 1: A beginning to an ending

But before he even got to the City, he had realized that the things he had done in his life, were as important as what he was doing in the city. It was April 23rd, 1984, he was born in Frenton, New Jersey. His mother, Susan Dean, was a  typical mom. His dad, Ed Dean, wasn't just an engineer. He was an Apeture Science Engineer. He was only in the "Best New Science Company from the Science and Business Institute of America.", which was rated #2 in the top 100 science companies. Being a Doctere of Princeton University, his education really took the spot on the list. He took one good look at his son, and out came the words... "Albert... Dean". 5 months later, he phone's up Cave Johnson and asks for a meeting. "Cave Johnson, sir. Do you happen to have spare time at maybe... 4 today during my lunch break?", says Ed Dean.
Tomorro- *Cough* *Cough*. Excuse me... *Clears throat* tommorow at four, says Cave Johnson.
That's good enough for me, thank you. *Hangs up the phone with no goodbye.*
Ed Dean had his way into doing the wrong thing, but right thing too. He wanted to quit working at Aperture science, and work in the competitive Black Mesa. He thought that Aperture science was dieing with the Bankrupt, and the whole potato science was a little weird. Seeing that GlaDoS and the Portal gun found it's way into why Aperture science was still good anyways, he thought he needed a Better company with better choices to make though. The next day, Ed walked up to the stairs to Cave's office, using authorized entrance through GlaDoS's memory, she allows him in being escorted. Cave could be heard coughing, loudly through his office. Ed knocks with three knocks, as chills go through his spine, almost like his brain froze with confusion, the door opens.
"Come on in... *clears throat* Ed.", says Cave.
Ed walks in, already knowing what to do... "No coffee please." says Ed taking a seat.
Greeting warmly, Ed gets right to business. "As you know, i will have a baby to take care of-" Ed is interrupted
"Congratulations, by the way.", says Cave. Ed nods and continues.
"I've been working here for almost 20 years, being stunned by the massive amount of work we have put in to our science, i would like you to thank you for letting me stay here to work." Cave nods, confused.
Ed continues... "I would like to let you know that not only including me and my son have to be together and taken care of, but... I am going to have to let go, and move on from Aperture Science, Mr. Johnson.", said Ed Dean.
Cave wasn't only stunned... but he was... sadly disappointing.
Cave tries to lighten the conversation up... "Hey, ya' know what they say... When...
Ed interrupts... "I'm being serious here... I am so sorry though...
Cave sits there, hands on the desk fully, face stopped turning to depressed from a joking face, Cave could have hid his depression... But was not able to hide the tear about to drop from his eye. Cave was not only losing his company, but losing his life.
The next day, Ed Dean was on the plane. Nothing but his Backpack, a plane ticket from Ohio to New Jersey, and hope. He was starting away in Black Mesa. With his new, shiny little star... Albert Dean. It was not until 8 years later that Ed was involved in Black Mesa, and swore secrecy.

Chapter 2: Toys, talent, and future realism

3 years later...

It was not long until it was almost his 4th birthday, it was December, the time where Christmas lies ahead. Albert Dean loved Santa Clause, but also knew that his father's office/lab was upstairs. The night before Christmas, he woke up during the night, and kept jumping up and down, reaching for the lock on the crib. He didn't just unlock the fence, but happened to get the lock loose from the bolts and made the entire lock come off, the door flew down. He stepped off the crib, walking out of his door, still open so he can have some light. He sneaked into his parents bed room, his mom was sleeping, Ed was working upstairs on a card for his wife. Albert, as he crawls up the wooden stairs starts to notice all of the tools in the room. He sits there in his crawling position as he stares at his dad. Ed soon looks to the right and notices... Albert got out of the crib. "What are you doing Albert?" says Ed, quietly.
As he slowly speed walks over to pick him up, he walks down stairs quietly, not trying to wake his mother. As Albert has been put back into his crib, Ed came back with a screwdriver and some hot glue. Albert lied there, watching his dad as he fixed the lock on his crib. Albert, in first sight, saw already what his talent was going to be. He wanted to be just like his dad.

4 years later

It was Albert Deans 7th birthday, surprises ran through him as he opened the presents. As he tore away on the biggest box on his birthday, he had just witnessed what will become his favorite toy. He looked confused as he took a cold hard look at the box... "What is this?" Albert questioned.
His dad laughed as he opened his mouth. "Those are Lego's Albert. I used to play with those when i was a kid, your age."
His dad opened the box, and took two pieces out. "See... what you do is you take one end of one of these pieces, and put them on and stick them on another one. You can build cool things with these." said Ed as he motioned putting the two blocks together.
"How do i build things with Lego's though, dad?" Albert asked.
"It's pretty simple son, you use creativity. You can grow up to be just like me, build things that matter!"

"Build things that matter.". "You use Creativity". Albert never forgot those quotes, for his entire life.
"You can grow up to be just like me!". Albert's father sure had the perfect son.
Albert soon put his first block on the floor, thinking and thinking. Albert Put the first block together on the other block, and got to work. To be just like his father, use his creativity, and build things... that matter.

Chapter 3: Things that matter

12 years later... Princeton University

Albert was going to do things that matter. As of for building things with Lego's, he made many friends in school. He soon worked in school with extra curricular things such as computing, he worked with his Tech ed teacher and made things with him, he even won 1st place in the 8th grade science fair for making invisible fence wires as alarms for your house. He soon took Operations research Financial Engineering, and Aerospace and Mechanics in Princeton University, 2003. He wanted to work his way up to the being a Doctere so he can work in Black Mesa... to be just like his dad.

8:30 A.M. May 16, 200- Black Mesa Research Facility.

As Ed Dean was working his way around the lab, trying to find out what happened to the systems, he checked every system, noticed nothing. As he witnessed part of the server's catching on fire just behind the locker room, he had suspicious thoughts about what Black Mesa was turning into. He had thoughts about the Xen Crystal they had discovered as one of the alien minerals, which is what they were the sample they were testing in the Anti-mass Spectrometer, was gonna do something funny. It was unlike a mineral he had no idea about, he was not a high enough level to study the mineral.

9:00 A.M.

Screaming was heard from the control room for the Anti-mass Spectrometer, Ed looked confused. As he opened his wide open at the massive flames moving forward, he was blown forward by the explosion, snapping his spinal cord in a second, burning him into nothing else. Black Mesa has gone to hell.

10:00 A.M.

As the T.V. was turned on in the science lab at Princeton, the announcement has been made about Black Mesa, and the operations. "We are sending everyone to there homes immediately. A crisis in the Black Mesa Research Facility has occurred making a-"
Albert interrupts the announcement... "Th- that's my father! He's-" Albert cry's out as he gets interpreted with a quiet motion.
As Albert is escorted out of the building, so did all of his stuff, including his stuff in the science lab. He repacked everything and packed safety goggles and his uniform for his research class... he didn't notice that though... He was only rushed out of the university.

Albert was sobbing as he made his trip back home, his car suddenly was stopped by a road block as helicopters flew over, and APC's struck Albert by his attention.
*BANG* *BANG*, his window was being tapped on. It was a man with a vest covered all over him with a white gas mask, tinted goggles.
"Citizen, get out!" said the Civil Protection man. He only said to get out, he soon grabbed his suitcases and set them down.
"Citizen, follow." Albert followed, struggling to bring his cases.
As he got in the dropship, he had just witnessed who they are, what they want, and what was going on. The Xen have taken over the war in 7 hours, as Dr. Breen has surrendered the whole world. Albert wondered how they got here... he thought he was imagining a portal storm, but unfortunately, that was not just his creative mind. He was seeing the world going to waste.

Chapter 4: "Welcome to City 17, it's not safer here."

As Albert walked out from the train into City 45. He rolled in his bags out from the train station, and into the city. It was described as if someone bombed a city and sarcastically put it back with no effort. It was a mess, garbage, boxes, paper, wood, and ashes were everywhere. It smelled like a trash can, and looked... dark. He rolled into the 45'th apartments and then took his two cases, and took it up the stairs. As he unlocked his apartments, one step in, turning his face up... *BAM*

Albert woke up, rubbing his head as he still laid down. He thought he was in his apartment... but what was he doing? He couldn't even stand up. He then heard a cry out for his name... "Albert?!"
He jumped up and sat up. He was looking around as he spotted his friend, Max Galassi.
Albert was speechless until he opened his mouth interrupting what Max was going to say... "What the fuck is going on here?! Am i in a n- M-m-... Max?!"
Max nods, as if he is trying to make Max understand what is going on.
Max holds him with his hand going up... "Let me explain, have a seat... we have a lot to talk about, keep quiet please."
As Albert sits up, he stands while Max sits, max motions him to sit. "Sit, Albert." Max motions again, as Albert sits down.
Max speaks out... "Something in Black Mesa Malfunctioned, which ended up in us being here... that's all i have to say.
Albert was stunned, but angry and frustrated... he went almost insane... "What the fuck are we gonna do Max?!?! What am i gonna eat?! Where am i gonna do!? What the fuck is this!?".
Albert more than crying, fell on the ground curling up almost insanely tearing out. Albert calmed down as Max stared at him. Albert fell asleep.

"Come here Albert... I wanna show you something." Max said as he helped Albert up on his feet.
Max unrolled the window curtains and used a "Introducing" motion.
Albert yawned before he even opened his eyes.
"Welcome, to the City 45... It's dangerous here."
Albert then opened his eyes wide open, surprised.
Albert took a good long look, and realized that this wasn't just home, this was now life.

"Un-pack your things." Max said.
Albert un-clipped the cases.
"So Albert, i didn't kno- Oh my god..."
Max was staring at the Scientist Uniform with the safety goggles and gloves, along with the pack of tools wrapped in a leather packet.
"How... did you get those in here?" Max said surprised.
Albert used his normal but disappointing voice as he pointed to his nose and said... "I don't know... you punched me in the fucking nose and brought me here though...
Max snapped back... "The fuck Albert, i saved your life! You would have been beaten to the last of yourself if you ever got caught with those cases... the fuck did you do to get those in here anyways?"
Albert looked frustrated. "I... don't really... know."
Max sighed "Get those in your closet, your room is through that metal door."
Albert sighed and clipped his cases as he stood up. "Alrighty..."
Albert opened the door with his case... as Max said his last couple of words to him that day... "You do know all of your friends are gonna be here too? Right?"
Albert chuckles. "I'm not surprised Max... What are you gonna do... hit them in the face?", Albert laughs.
Max bites his lip not even smiling... "We'll see about that".
Albert kicks the door closed and locks it, as he turns around and puts his hands on his hips... "Home..."

As he looks around, torn wood is from the ground, and a smell of new paint arises. "Welcome to your apartment" he thought in his mind. He's only forgetting one thing though... he wasn't like his father... yet. As he unlocked the door and opened it to surprise max with the Uniform in his suitcase, he opened his mouth and said "What do i do with my uniform then?"
Max looked shocked "Oh no... we have to get you your CID and Citizen outfit!"
Albert looked shocked, he wasn't actually wearing a Citizen uniform. He had to go back, and somehow restart.

Chapter 5: Laws are meant to be broken

As Max tore off the wood in Albert's original apartment, he turns around to Albert and points to the Uniform and the bag of tools. "Unfold the uniform and we can stuff it under the wood, i'll mark where they were if you want them again. And your bag of tools... Hide them somewhere safe, i don't know where..."
Albert held up his goggles... "What about these?" Albert questioned.
"Those go into the bag of tools, stuff em' in there if you can."
Albert unzipped the bad and tried to shove the goggles in the bag without breaking them, and zipped it up.

"Albert, look in your closet and see if you have an extra uniform. I had one, so you should probably."
Albert looked firmly in the closet without any doors, and spotted a blue uniform, dusty and stained with yellow and brown stains. The shirt came with a card that said...

"CITIZEN NAME: ALBERT DEAN
CITIZEN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: 40070"

Albert Took the card and set it down on the bag that he had set down, and stuffed the uniform over him as quickly as possible, trying to get Max not to see him. Max turned to Albert as he walked out of the closet looking at his card. "How did you get past that security without a uniform anyways? They give you one and a card...", said Max.
Albert look confused... "Well they left one in here... I don't understand Max... i-"
Max interrupts, "Lets just go, i gotta hide that bag of tools you got there..."
Albert nods and follows along.

Back at Albert's place at Max's apartment, he cuts open the the part of his mattress with a piece of glass from Albert's apartment. "Hide the tool bag in your mattress, we can keep this here for longer than anything else in the world." said Max.
Albert stuffed his bag in the mattress as Max spoke out to Albert. "Unless you hear about being relocated, you better hide all that shit in the case you got over there..." said Max.
Albert nodded with agreement.

2:00 P.M. City 17 ration center

Albert was only human, but sure a hell knew what rations were. He knew the food was going to be a liquid substance piece of shit he wouldn't wanna eat at all. The Breen's water... he wanted to see what that was all about.
"Next!" one of the Units called.
Albert steps up to the line on the door as he slides up. Albert walks in looking at the sign for instructions...

"APPLY
CITIZEN NAME|CITIZEN IDENTIFICATION CODE
Information listed on your Citizen card."

Albert walks up to the counter as the panel opens, Albert is ready to give his information.
"Citizen... Apply!" says the Unit.
Albert strikes an odd feeling with the units voice.
"Citizen!" the unit yells louder.
Albert reads the information as he says "Sorry." to the unit.
"My name is Albert Dean... and the Identif-"
"Citizen, hold." Albert was interrupted by the unit.
The Unit had his identification saved on his data-pad for checking to see if he had his uniform. The unit took a sharp look and say that his card and uniform were together. The ration popped out... already ripped open...
"Now, get out of here." the unit snapped.
Albert picked it up walking out as if he hated that unit.

*Loud screaming was heard*
Albert turns his head towards the noise.
"Let go of me! St- Ah! Ge.."
A young woman was being beaten to the ground by a unit. He looked just like the ration unit.
Citizens tried to walk over, including Albert, but a hand stop him as he tried to run after her.
"Don't even do anything..." Max said as Albert turned to Max.
"Why... she's being fucking beaten to death! We need to-"
"Albert, you don't understand... In this city, you should NEVER help anyone at all besides each other." Max interrupted Albert.
Albert, still holding his ration, pointed to the apartments... "Shall we go back?" Albert questioned to Max.
Max laughed "I'm afraid not... they are-"
A unit comes by, unflicking his stunstick. "Isolate!" the unit yells.
Albert turns to the unit pointing at Max. "But i was just-"
"Isolate! Final warning!" the unit snaps back at Albert as he pushes him.
Max shakes his head at Albert, telling him to just go.
Albert backs away with his hands to his side with his ration. The unit walks away.

Albert walks into the apartment building, leaning on the wall, waiting for Max as he spots him.
Max walked into the building looking at Albert. "Pretend like we don't know each other... that's all."
Max leans on the wall as the Civil Protection walk through the crowd and go out the apartment doors. "Protection complete". One of the unit says on the radio.
Max motions Albert to follow into Albert's apartment.
"Albert, here..." Max says to Albert as he gives a orange to Albert.
Albert looks confused... "Did you buy this?" Albert says as Max nods.
"This is what i have been doing for the rest of my life, and will continue to be."
Albert turns to Max. "So what we will do is by things from..."
Albert turns the orange around as it says "CWU" on the sticker of the orange as it says "10 tokens".
"So we will just buy things from the CWU... with Tokens?"
Max nods. "There are some in your ration packet, along with water... but don't eat the supplies..."
"Why?" Albert asks as he looks in his packet.
"Because, it does horrible things to you... i had one yesterday... it hurts."
Albert takes the Citizen supplements and sets them down as he takes the water and tokens out, and puts the tokens in his pocket.
"This is life... for the rest of out lives?" Albert said.
Max nodded slowly. "Yes Albert... but remember. Keep things to ourselves, do not talk to anyone else, and do not let those damn monsters see you... I'm not saying to like them, but follow the rules, and break them at the same time."

With food and water from the CWU, money from the Civil Protection, and speeches from Docter Breen. Albert needed to worry about his tool bag... i don't think he ever knew about his uniform at all. No matter how many times he has been relocated... his life didn't know it was changing... in City 45.

Chapter 6: A dark, terrorizing life in City 45

April 6th, 2016

Albert... was almost like a boss. He always figured out combine directions, and where they went during a Judgement wavier. And he would always use a fake voice over the request device to scare off Combine whenever there was trouble near District 6. Still... he was busy. He ran back and forth to the city and always stayed out of trouble. Max had the body, and Albert had the brains. It was until 5 years after the 7 hour war that he got dragged into the mess of City 45. Because his identification was normal. None of the Combine really knew who Albert was, and he was clean. The only thing that was wrong, was that he was hiding things for 5 years. He packed his suitcase with his Card and His citizen uniform and went straight away. He had been relocated 3 times. From there... he found things in District 6, and took them back to Max's apartment to sort them out and see what he could do with them. He would always take request devices apart and take the wires and wrap them around to build homemade tools... he was a pretty smart guy. He would take sharp parts of a broken scanner he found one time and used that piece to cut things open and make other things. He never knew what a request device had in it, but he tore them and used them anyways. He would run out of his apartment in case if the Combine thought he died... as if the signal was being lost in the device. Beyond his discoveries, he could see how smart he was getting with all of these discoveries with the technology and pieces he was finding.

On that night of April 6th, 2016. Albert was turning off his lamp in his apartment as he just arrived. He was about to go to bed... when all of the sudden...
*BAM*. Someone was running in Albert's apartment as he busted the door open and locked it. He turned around to Albert as Albert was sitting up from his mattress... it was Max. "Albert! You are not going to believe what happened!"
Albert sat up, shocked... "Calm down man... what the hell happened?"
Max cries out "Five people from school a long time ago arrived here in City 45!"
As Albert was shushing Max... he stopped and stood up in shock, he could not believe it...
"Holy mother of christ..." Albert said softly in a low voice.
Max was sobbing as he sat against the wall. Albert turned to Max and helped him on his feet. "Lets go to sleep, we will work this out, i promise." Albert said.
Albert calmed Max down as he turned off the lamp.

April 7th, 2016

Albert and Max were sitting down in the Powerplant in the slums. They loved living in the Powerplant because they could share power with a Resistance group called "The Brotherhood". And the Brotherhood would give out water's and food to Albert and Max, it was a pretty good deal. Albert was smart about what he did in District 6 to stay alive. He gave some stuff he made to the Brotherhood and they gave him a radio. Max had a frequency of 188.2 that he made up. They barely used it unless they had emergencies. Even though he shared power, he made things out of broken fridges and dumpsters. He even tore off fences and used them as extra tables, or tore off tops of dumpsters and used them to cover his windows.

"Out friends can't know about out operations! We can't just invite them into our own damn thing!" Max cries out.
Albert shushes Max. "Calm the fuck down... here's what we will do...". Albert snaps at Max.
Max listens carefully without saying a word.

"Max, there are four ways we can deal with this.
Number one... If they talk to you, just mumble something and move along. Pretend that your tired.
Number two... If they come here or anywhere to our apartment... keep telling them that your busy.
Number three... If they get mad or sad at you, we move out quickly. I don't deal with that shit...
Number four... If they report any Civil Protection near us or about us... *Albert gulps* we kill them."

Max didn't look stunned, he bit his lip, as if he was making his decision... "Ok... alright then." Max said slowly.
Albert reached out to shake Max's hand. One shake... agreement made... rules deployed.

Day after day, Albert and Max were getting more noticed as they went to the ration center, in the city, and even out of the city.

April 15th, 2016

Albert was reading about the "Poison Zombies" again. That was one of his favorite things to read about, he could only imagine what those things look like. He read a lot of books and actually took notes of things he found and did across the city and districts.

That night... Albert jumped up from a surprise... *KNOCK KNOCK*. Someone knocked on the door. Albert never said a word, Max never knocks... In fact... he knows how to get through the door by himself from outside... If he had trouble, he would throw a rock at the second window.
Albert radio's in "Hey... is that you Max?"
"No... i'm down in the canal... why?" Max replied.
"I really don't know... but someone is here..."
Albert stood up and walked slowly to the door. It couldn't be the Brotherhood... they never knocked on the door.
"Come quick..." Albert said, then turned off the radio.
Albert then took the string blocking the door from opening and pulled it out as he took the plank of wood off the holder to keep the door shut at all times. Then... he couldn't believe who was there...

Albert backed up, still holding the door handle... his eyes went wide open. "Nina! What are you doing here?"
Albert thought she was surprised too... in a happy way. Nina's fists were by her side, her head was down as she looked up at him... "You son of a bitch..."
Albert took his hand off the door handle and backed up. Nina took a step in the door, as she carefully reaches in her shirt... and pulled out a small sharp object. "Are you crazy?!" Albert said as he slowly backed up.
Nina put the sharp object by her side... and opened her mouth as she turned her head up to Albert... "I can see it in your eyes. I know what you did... You never fuck with me!".
She lifted the bit of glass and tried to chase after him as she screamed. "FUCK Y-" *BOOM*
The bit of glass lifted and flew right out of her hand, the chunks of her head flew open as the flesh exited fast out of the back of her head, like a plastic bag breaking. Her eye-balls flew out as her jaw came apart. Every bit of her blood flew forward on Albert as the tiny pieces of flesh flew into bits everywhere on the walls and floor. Smoke arose from behind Nina... It was Max. Max walked in, holding his shotgun up as steam came out from the nozzle of the gun. Albert wiped blood off of his mouth and eye lids as he spit on the ground. still closing his eyes. Albert looked up... Max blew Nina's head open... "WHAT THE FUCK.. DID YOU DO?" Albert snapped back with intense force at Max.
Max still had a straight face as Albert was yelling at him. "I can't fucking believe what you did! I am in so much fucking trouble because of you now! Answer me now Ma-"
Albert gets interrupted by Max, saying his final answer in his normal voice. "I killed every single one of your friends now, Albert... It's over."
Albert takes short breaths. "Wh... wh- WHAT!?" Albert could not believe what he had been told. It was as if he was in a nightmare.
Max turns and takes two steps out, dropping the shotgun to the floor and putting his hands to his side. "I must go Albert... It's too late."
Albert stops by his door as Max walks away... "What do you mean it's over? Come back here!"
Max walked away from Albert. Albert bent down on his knees and fell to the ground. He had been sobbing and squeezing every tear out of his eye. The Brotherhood resistance members stopped by the stairs as they looked tightly at Albert, crying hard. Albert sniffed and got up on his knees, he noticed the shotgun on the floor. Albert dragged the shotgun into his apartment, he didn't bother to lock yet... he threw the shotgun to the floor as he looked at was no longer more of a friend, a headless woman blown to bits. Albert's life was just about ruined.

Chapter 7 [Final chapter]: Build things that matter, use creativity, and be like your father.

June 30, 2016 Powerplant District 6

Albert had not seen Max in months. He was not only worried, but angry. He could never survive the rest of his life without Max... He knew living in the place he lived in was horrible. What would his life be without Max... Would he ever come back, can he ever come back, the biggest question of all though is... Should he ever come back?

Albert was drinking the last bits of milk he found in the Brotherhoods old base. The Brotherhood was gone, they had never lived up to it's priority. The shotgun he had was behind the shelf full of papers he had found around the city. Most were written on, some were blank. He was writing on a piece of paper, a picture of what the future could have been if the portal storms had never happened... If the Xen had never come down on earth. *Pop*... a rock hit the second window, hard and fast. Albert knew what it was... but didn't bother... All of the sudden Albert turned around to see Max at the door. "Ahh! What are you doing here?" Albert said as he jumped from Max's appearance.
"I'm here to give this to you...". Max said.
Max un-slinged a backpack off his shoulder, and dropped it on the ground.
Albert jumped up from his seat and walked slowly to the backpack, positioned it up, and unzipped it. It had his scientist uniform, eye protection goggles, and his bag of tools along with... a letter with another piece of paper in it. Albert looked up about to cry in happiness. "You were gone for all that time? To get me these?" Albert said sobbing a little.
He zipped the back pack up and put it on his shoulder and stood up to Max's face. "I never thought you would give me this..." Albert said
Max didn't respond... "Thank you so mu-" Albert said as he was interrupted.
"Albert... you have five minutes to figure out how to get out of here... How to get OUT of here..." Max said in a low voice.
Albert hesitated... "What do you mean?"
A voice sounded from the Overwatch announcements... "Attention citizen, your block is currentl-"
Albert interrupts the noises as he yells at Max... "Are you fucking serious!?" Albert says, shaking in fear, backing up.
Max takes a couple of steps back... "Good luck Albert... your gonna need it now." Max says as he closes Albert's door. Albert pushes back, dropping the backpack on the ground, and trips over on the backpack and falls onto the seat. He bangs his head on the table and puts his hands over his head... This very well may be Albert's last 5 minutes of his life.

Blood arose from Albert's door way... "Officer down! Off-".
One by one, each bullet penetrating Max's body. He fell hard and cold to the ground... Radio's were buzzing like crazy. As one unit, limping into the room, holding his pistol by his side, looking like he was about to fall... breathing fast. As he turns to his radio, he turns around to the door... *POP*. The bullet penetrated through the units head... chipping parts of his helmet off as mists of blood sprouted off. The unit fell straight to the ground and banged his head turning it sideways. Blood leaked from the units head, pouring onto the ground. Max set his gun down... Albert opened his eyes... Albert ran to Max and took one cold hard look. Albert checked his breathing, his pulse... his eyes... Nothing. Max was nothing but a bloody mess with bullets penetrated through him, piled on a bunch of dead units. Max's MP7 lies with him on the ground. "Max... m-m... Max!" Albert cried out...
No response was heard... Albert shut Max's eyes tight... He knew what he wanted Albert to do. Albert un-flipped the note, it was a map to the Outlands! The map had a note hanging from it... Albert tore it off and read it quickly...

"Dear Albert,

I'm sorry i couldn't make it, but you could. All the citizens have been going crazy on how they are getting out of the city... it's amazing. One of these resistance leaders gave me a map... I may not go on. I may have the body, but not the brain Albert. You have the brains, you can figure out a way to make your way around this Albert! Get to Outlands... follow the red marker first... Remember, use creativity, build things that matter, and be like your father. Be someone who can do things that matter, and be someone!

Sincerely your best pal in the rest of the world, Max Galassi.
"

Albert dropped a tear, as he walked out of the Powerplant. With a backpack, a letter, and a shotgun. He walked, and walked. "Hey, over here!" A citizen called out with a bunch of people.
"Hey... listen, follow me i know the way to go, someone told me the way! Lets go... be quiet now."
Albert walked among the people as he wrapped the papers and put them in his pocket, and at last... followed the road to his destiny. It was his turn... to be creative, build things that matter, and be just like his father.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s)) No.

Extra Notes (optional): I will not use Albert Dean in HL2rp unless i am getting my authorization benifits, but will remain OOC in HL2RP with Albert Dean.

 I hope i get accepted! :)

Your story was phenomenal. A few canon flaws but it shouldn't change the outcome of the application. First flaw I noticed was this. There were a couple years between the resonessence cascade and the seven hour war. During this time, xenians flooded the world, forcing humans to move in to the big cities that were protected by the military. Another flaw was your time between the seven hour war and now. Waffle has it so the war happened in 2015. Final flaw would be it's only March 2016 right now in-game. Please proofread the story. Some smelling and grammar issues were found. Fix these issues cause I want to see this in the fan fiction thread =P.

On topic. Good application, it said you escaped with some citizens but you never specified who you escaped with so are you in the outlands alone now? I take it you escaped with the shotgun so here's my tl;dr verdict.

Accepted for One shotgun with eight shells. Accepted for knowledge and creativity. Accepted for labcoat. ~Statua

Character Section

Authorization(s): Vortigaunt

Name: Tre' Gal Dresson
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Vortigaunt Slave/ Refugee(maybe)

What has caused your character to require these authorizations?
Tre' Gal Dresson had been driven from his native world by a force he does not remember. He and his species had taken refuge on Xen as a last resort. He and his people were enslaved by the oppressive Nihilanth. When the Xen crystal GG-3883 caused a Resonance Cascade, Tre' Gal and a large number of his people were forced through the portals by Nihilanth's minions, controllers. Tre' Gal and the 2 other vorts with him were forced to kill strange humanoid creatures, with an erect posture and white skin. (lab coats, scientist) His 2 squadmates were killed and he was forced to move in to the facility alone. He was moving through a hallway, and at the end, a figure came into view. He was wearing bulky orange skin, with strange reflective glass around his head. (glasses) Tre' Gal did not attack. The orange figure looked puzzled as to why Tre' Gal was not attacking him. Tre' Gal looked down, closing his 3 eyes, waiting for death. He stood there for what seemed like eternity. When Tre' Gal finally looked up, the figure was gone. (some vorts in Half-Life won't attack unless you attack them) Tre' Gal proceeded deeper into the facility, and at times glancing other strange beings wearing white and black armor with a HECU symbol on them. Proceeding randomly into the facility, Tre' Gal found himself outside on a helipad. He saw a couple of the HECU beings, and began to fire his lightning at them, dropping 2 of the 4. The 2 left advanced on him, shooting wildly. Tre' Gal was hit near the gut. The last thing he saw was the 2 HECU beings before blacking out. When he woke up, he was in the desert, but near the facility. Tre' Gal could barely stand up. He was lying in a pool of his own dirty green blood. He gave 2 flux calls, and blacked out again. (Gordon Freeman had already killed Nihilanth, so he was free of the controller's reign) When he next woke up, he was being dragged down a drainage pipe. Looking up with one eye, he saw 2 of those beings he saw before dragging him. Panicking, Tre' Gal broke out of their grasp and stood poised to strike, his gut wound still throbbing badly.

"Hey now, no need to get violent!"
"I don't think he knows, Travis."
"How could he not know?"
One of the beings turned to face Tre' Gal. "You've been in an induced coma for a year or so. The other vort tells me he found you in the desert, almost bled to death. He put you in an induced coma and healed you. We didn't think you'd wake up now."
Tre' Gal turned, and another vortigaunt was standing there, watching Tre' Gal.

Tre' Gal snaps "Gal yathing hurr ter?"(Is this true?)
The vortigaunt replies "Yakshi don telling hurr, jon sade feon jiking." (The humans are on our side now, the Combine have enslaved this planet.)
"Gafhis jakall fu yajir?" (The combine? Were they the ones that forced us from our homeworld?)
"Jaky your tyon byon rryata." (Yes, and they have enslaved this planet. We are helping the humans.)
Tre' Gal turns back to the humans, and waves them on. The party begins walking.

The party reaches a sewer grate, squeezing through. Inside is a very damp pipe half drenched in water.

"Keep close." One human said.
Tre' Gal and the other Vortigaunt walked behind them. They eventually reached a wide space with some dim lighting. It was stocked with food and had several beds.
"We've been holing up here for a while" the human called Travis said, "The combine have been doing patrols aboveground almost 24/7, we figured we would be safer down here."

Tre' Gal, the other vortigaunt and the other 2 humans would occasionally go aboveground to get supplies. On one evening, as they were returning back to the underground camp, a combine patrol had spotted them and began to fire. The 2 humans armed with small weapons, began to fire back, killing one or 2 units. The vort began firing pulses of electricity at the units, dealing massive electrical damage. Tre' Gal was still recovering, and could not fight. He was slumped behind cover, hoping that they would make it out alive. Suddenly, a tiny device rolled into view. Tre' Gal scrambled to his feet, but wasn't quick enough. He was blasted off the ground flying several feet in the air, before landing into the ground, with his vision shaky and his hearing damaged and ringing. Moving his head slowly, he saw the 2 humans on the ground, dead. The vort was still standing, firing at the combine, but he has been wounded and his struggling to keep up. Finally, a bullet pierced the vort's eye, and he crumpled to the ground. Tre' Gal's damaged hearing captures a quick beep of radios clicking, and he falls unconscious.

Waking up, he is strapped to a chair in some sort of cell. He struggles, but feels pain. Looking down, he is wearing some sort of collar and wristbands. 2 combine unhook him from the chair, and beat him out the door. One throws him a broom. Tre' Gal walks out unsteadily, and finds himself in some sort of city or urban environment. The voice is telling him to start cleaning. Tre' Gal sighs and begins to work.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Vort model, durr.
Perks: Tre' Gal is still a very young vort, and his energy allows him to use the vortessence for small periods of time, but then succumbs to the collars effects.
Defects: A lot. Tre' Gal is a slave under the combine, I'm sure we've played HL2.
What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan to use these perks and defects to enhance my and others RP. I can speak small amounts of english, but the majority is Vortigese. Since my vort still is young, his vortessence can be used for small amounts of time, but then he succumbs to the collar. For example: If Tre' Gal is wounded, he can focus and use his essence to partially heal himself. Since normally he can't use it anyway, it takes enormous amounts of concentration, and he can only use it for a short time before he tires.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No one.

Extra Notes (optional):
Not really much to say, I think I can handle the large amounts of RP a vort does.

Accepted for trial character.
