thread bumping
« on: February 24, 2014, 06:38:51 PM »
whenever you post add an option that says "Thread bump (Will bump thread but not count towards post count)". It can be used once every 78 hours or so(I'd say a week is fair though). It would allow important threads that are falling back in the system to come back but not raise postcount and you wouldn't get in trouble for double posting.

Perhaps make a rule saying when you use the thread bump option, you many only double post once. If no one else posts in the thread after you posted twice in succession, it's deemed unimportant.

I like the idea. But make it so you have a valid reason to bumping it.  Like you cannot just go and say "bump"

I don't see the point in this.
If a thread is important, it wouldn't 'fall back'. If it fell back, it's obvious that it's not important enough to stay up top.

And if it is really that important to make a reply, then just make a reply? :\

Could be just me assuming things here, but I think the only reason why you want this is to bump your own AMA thread or something. Which obviously isn't important.
Check out my Youtube channel with all kinds of cool videos including LP's which I'm currently working at. Don't forget to give feedback as well. ;)

posting in a thread with a valid response that is related to the thread if there are no new threads on the same subject shouldnt ever be a bad thing, bumping your own ama shouldnt be a bad thing either as post counts dont raise there

I've got an idea, but it kind of doesn't work because of necroposting.
If a thread is say a month old and you make a post, it wont bump up but stay where it is.
But there is no point because of necroposting.
