Author Topic: ARMA 2 Crashing on Startup and other errors (Read 4658 times)

Just recently, I have attempted to play Arma 2: Combined Operations. However, when I tried to load it as of today, it has given me this error message that says "This game is currently unavailable ( Application Running ). Obviously, the game is not running. I cannot find any related applications through task manager, I have used msconfig to turn off all background tasks, restarted, defragged, cleaned the registry, and even did a hard reset, but it does not appear to be working. Also, I have attempted to run all the other ARMA 2 games I have, including ARMA 2 (Vanilla) and it's expansions, Private Military Company, British Armed Forces, and Operation Arrowhead. Of all of them, only the vanilla one will run. The rest crash on startup.

Arma II tends to not work properly if you're not running Steam in administrator mode. Try that. If not, I may have other solutions for you.

Assume I'm an idiot and tell me how to go into administrator mode

Quit steam, rightclick shortcut -> Run as administrator.

Hah, if it keeps saying that, restart steam, if that doesn't work, restart your PC. If that doesn't work (Which it does for me 90% of the time) then IDK what to tell you.
