Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.Daren Brown was born in Berlin, Germany in the year 1988 on January 3rd. He had a brother at the age of 6 when he was born, His name was Adolf II. He was raised by his loving father and mother, they both had jobs and were working most of the time. Daren was cared for the most since of his young age, as his older brother was older. There was no favorites in the family though, they all were the same.
His father's name was also Adolf, he was in the German Military at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He currently was not in a war at the moment, but he was at home with his children watching over them, telling them stories that they couldn't really understand, but he still did. He also was doing some paperwork for the German Military why he was home in his free time, he didn't like that at all. His father was about to be promoted to 1st Lieutenant in just a month or two, that was one of the main reasons he was filling out papers. He couldn't focus as much because of his children playing and screaming as he wrote down things on the paper, he always got headaches every single day of his life back at home.
His mother's name was Bathild, she was the nicest person you could meet. Even though she was in the military and was currently at a military base she still didn't change her cheerful mood. She was at the rank of Sergeant, a loyal, smart soldier she was indeed, never backed away from a fight. She was a warrior, she would never show mercy to an enemy, and will never show mercy to one. When she was at home with her family she was mostly cleaning or taking care of the kids in general.
At the age of 18 his father was at the rank of Captain and his mother at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, his father began to teach Daren how to use a 9mm pistol and a 12 gauge shotgun properly and how to fire it. His father set up some targets, explained about the safety, the stock, and the loading mechanism. Daren took aim, focused on the target and pulled the trigger, the first shot blew him back a few inches, but then he got the feel of it after the 3rd shot. He kept at it until everyone of the glass targets were gone, he then flipped the safety on and lowered his shotgun. He thanked his father for the training and he loaded his shotgun again, set up more targets, flipped off the safety, took aim, and fired.
At the age of 26 he was pretty much an expert with shotguns so he switched to 9mm pistol, he asked his father who was retired from his job and his mother also and asked for the basics on the 9mm pistol. He explained the recoil, and then just handed it to him since he already knew about the safety, handling and aiming. He set up some small tin cans, flipped off the safety, took aim, and pulled the trigger, the first shot was okay, and then all the rest fine. He kept shooting the targets down and then putting them back up and repeated. He finally stopped at dawn and flipped on the safety, and holstered his sidearm.
At the age of 28 he had been shooting the shotgun and pistol every Monday and Thursday. He was an expert with the shotgun and great with the 9mm pistol, but he had some issues with it, jamming, misfiring, and so fourth. He got bored of firing guns everyday and sat down to hang out with his older brother Adolf. His brother Adolf was working as a Special Ops unit at the time, which was pretty surprising to Daren, since he had a terrible mood everyday. His brother was about to be deployed for a special mission that he could not tell anyone but himself.
The day of the Seven Hour War, his brother was set out onto the special mission in the USA involving some pretty important people. Daren went into his father's room and found his old officer uniform laying there on his bed, Daren inspected it, slipping it on feeling like a badass in it. He grabbed his shotgun and pistol, slung the shotgun and holstered the pistol, and went to go shoot off some shots in the uniform, as if he was in battle. As he got finished and walked inside he saw something on the T.V screen, It was the news, It showed large Combine dropships and choppers flying in through a massive portal in the sky. He rushed outside with his father's uniform, and weapons still with him and peered into the sky, There it was.
He quickly rushed back inside grabbing a backpack, some water, and some more ammo with him and headed for his back yard. Once outside he hopped over the fence as he saw a chopper spraying down the city of Berlin. Cars were lighting up in fire balls, people exploding into guts and bones, and houses turning into rubble. His mother and father were still inside the house, in their underground nuke bunker they had installed in case of an emergency like this. He hopped over fence to fence, heading for a underground military bunker he had remembered from what his father told him. He dashed to the entrance of the private property, bashing through the gate.
Once inside he headed for the elevator smashing the button as hard as he could, going down into the lowest floor of the bunker. Once below the surface he shot the elevator controls and moved into the helipad area, he blocked himself in, and took aim at the door. He waited hours, soon drifting off into sleep. When he awoke he was in the same spot unharmed and safe, he opened the bay door of the helipad, stepped onto the helipad and raised up to the surface. He peered around, seeing multiple big towers, so rounded by huge walls of metal, he also saw one huge tower that was taller then all of them, this was the new world.
He made his way through what was left of Germany making his way to the nearest city that he saw, City 45. Once near it, he was about to enter the city but then a thought flashed into his mind and he headed the opposite direction of the city. He soon ended up in a odd area with waterfalls and lots and lots of land, but none of these drop ships or cities. He entered the new land and found more people, and them people were heavily geared up, and had their own Military Facility. He called this place his new home since Berlin was no more Berlin, And Germany was no longer Germany, this place, The Outlands is his new home.
