This is just a short rant about the quality of unit's roleplay. There RP abilites and how they act IS SO SADDENING to me now days. I am seeing 02's and 01's running nearly EVERYWHERE they may go. Such as today, I was /me'ing myself opening the door to the UCH (since I like to RP a majority of things I do) and as I do, a unit runs towards me, shoves me out of the way with his stunstick, and runs inside. THIS IS NOT HOW A UNIT SHOULD ACT, NONE-LESS THIS BEING AN 02.
It seems that now days, all citizens are treated as trolls. Though this is far from true, yes, a majority of them are, but being a citizens DOES NOT mean they are just new. It is a fraction just like the CCA and should be taught and treated as such. Not just to be blown away by units, although in the cases that there are trolls, the units try to take them IC. On SEVERAL occasions I have seen Rations closed before I get mine because of trolling idiots. They aren't anti-citizens if ALL THEY DO IS TROLL.
And the worst thing about this is that how units are actually getting this high in rank, and getting away with what they do! I can't give all the blame to the non-HC in this, its just shameful for the CCA in my opinon! And something needs to be done about this mingesticking, lolrunning, failRP, and so on that I have seen.
Edit:
I also have forgotten to discuss about these detainments. I and many others have been isued, oh, maybe just afew cycles? And yet units are too lazy to let us out. So we sit our asses down for an entire hour, complian in OOC, and can't do ANYTHING because it would be D/C'ing to avoid RP. This is TOTAL BS for citizens, JUST because units can not keep up with what they are doing, or even call in a unit to let us out!
Double Edit:
Now I'm going to be as reasonable as possible with all of you, this is not a rant nor is it an angry complaint, but more of a calm opinionated complaint. Now this server is the reason I've got into the whole HL2RP, but I feel as if many of the people in this community do not know how to RP nor how to accept a correct defeat. This is ESPECIALLY in my opinion seen in the units who seem to think because they have a higher power they can do whatever. I've had units use MASS meta gaming against me to kill me or hit me with no IC info. Now some units do indeed an AMAZING job, but the majority are not like this. I feel as if admins who are especially units abuse there actions as times as well. Making a /me of you running away will get you kicked even though it was in character. Some people make it seem as if people can't get away if they try. It can PHYSICALLY be done, it's been proved many, many times.
This is also true about Metagaming, it needs to stop in units. Right. Now. There is no reason that a unit can simply take OOC info and magically know about who, where, and why a person did somthing and go get them for it.
...Rant over.

PM the digits of Units to me and what they did and I shall deal with them.

I personally try to roleplay with the greatest amount of detail /I/ can provide, and you know what? I sometimes feel like it's just pointless, seeing as half of the people don't give a shit about it. I find it annoying when a unit judges me ICly by saying something along the lines of 'A recruit could tie and search the citizen faster' when I was writing in detailed /me's, un-like the recruit.

Then they themselves do not understand roleplay. For one, the speed of it doesn't even matter. RP is slow paced and relaxed, not, 'check-them-and-run-off'. Its just sickening seeing these 02's and 01's giving bad examples for others. (Minus the ones that actually do there job.) Its like, all of these units give in to trolls and just slack off on RP because of it.

We understand a lot of complaints have been made about the poor quality of Civil Protection units recently. I'm going to be discussing various ways to minimize this amount and if better kill it completely with Veran and the other administrators.

If you don't mind, I could suggest some.
For one, make the backstory a bit stricter. The backstory is basicly, well, the backbone of the entire application itself. It shows the pure RP quality in a person if they can make an in-cannon application. So I suggest making the word limit up to 400 instead of 300. Another thing that I will probbly get screamed at for, is to keep RCT's inside the Nexus unless given a special order. That way other units can focus in on keeping there RP up as long as they are a RCT. The only acception for a RCT to go outside is the RDT until they are an 04, then they can patrol/guard/whatever the case.

You know, I have been feeling the same way, I would jump into HL2RP day after day and do the best roleplay I could, but towards the end of my sessions I began to think to myself, "Why bother? Nobody gives two squirts of piss how much effort I put into my RP anyway." People are too quick these days, it seems to be forgotten by the majority of units how relaxed this should all be. HL2RP should be a (mostly) relaxed experiance, save for the temporary periods of excitement.

Exactly my point, nobody can seem to take HL2RP as a relaxation game. They think of it as all action, no Passive. But that's the exact OPPOSITE of RP itself.
This is also basicly a bump.

I think the main issue is that we need to teach the OCRP players who think "Oh I can come over and play my roleplay is good enough and I know how to roleplay" Or the people who think "LOL I R EPAIC AT RPZ I CAN PLAYZ DIS" that this isn't OCRp, OCRP level roleplay is bad.
Once we weed them out and get them roleplaying better the quality will rise greatly but it takes people teaching others not just admins normal players teaching players who want to roleplay better, and banning those who don't to get the server's roleplay quaility up not just "admin please help there's a fail RPer" you should only do that if they can't be controlled.
TL;DR start helping admins teach new players/people who aren't the best roleplayers.
