The Outlands' Inn (Downtime Roleplay Thread)

You got the basic idea of what i wanted to do right, no worries I'll wait for Violet and Beef to react to their respective attacks before i put what the guard does.

As she says that, the people and creatures 34370 inside the Inn's basement can hear the Antlions scurrying on the first floor, the wooden floor not making much to silence their steps as the battle upstairs rages on.

After a few moments of angerily clawing at the air for flipping him over, 34370 manages to right himself, shaking himself of his upside down dizziness. He looks up as the sounds of the Antlions above catches his attention. After a moment, the tiny headcrab seems to realize just how many may be up there, 34370 lets out a frightened whimper as he shivers lightly in fright.

Scruffy's arm shook uncontrollably as a result of some minor nerve damage from the deep bite. Thick streams of blood raced down to his fingertips, dripping as he walked back to the car.

Beans quickly opened the passenger door of his car, leading Scruffy inside.

Stay put, we'll be back at the inn in no time.

Scruffy nodded, clutching his arm. He jogged around the car, tossing his shotgun in the back seat amongst the fuel, canned food and cigarettes. He spun the key in the ignition, the car roaring to life. He spun the steering wheel all the way around, slamming the gas pedal. In return, the car drifted to the left. He began speeding his way up the road towards the gas station.

As they approached the inn, an ant lion wandered into the road. Beans eased on the brakes, but to no avail. He slammed into the ant lion, thereby sending it screeching down the street with broken legs. Beans pulled to the side of the road, grabbing his shotgun from the back seat.

Beans and Scruffy jogged their way down the road, watching the onslaught of ant lions. When Beans got to the ant lion he had hit, it began hissing and screeching, trying to pull itself onto it's legs. raised his peg leg bringing it straight down upon the bottom and exposed side of it's head.

When more bursts of gunfire erupted from the direction of the Inn, Beans grabbed Scruffy's good arm yanking him along towards the inn and around the bend in the road, racing towards the from door with Scruffy. As they finally reached the doors, Beans shoved Scruffy inside with a shout, He's been bit!

It is before Tray's last post above me.

After Ori shouted about the Pulse sniper rifle beam, he ran to the basement, after everyone else. He guarded Joanna, holding his MP7 closely. He stares at 34370, noticing he fell down, but managed to get up. He sees that it is shaking, probably from fear. Ori gets closer to 34370 slowly, crouches when he is close enough to give a hand to it.

He then says "Don't be afraid little fellow, here, hop on my shoulder."

Violet Collins

Violet fires a 2 round burst at one of the antlions, shredding one of its limbs off. She fires another 3 rounds in the second one, digging a hole through its face. "The hell is going on? Why are these things attacking?" She hears the roar of the guard. 'Shit', she thinks to herself. Violet begins to stress out noticeably. She scans for another target, breathing heavily.

Beef gets tackled down by  the antlion and struggles to keep it off of him. Wrestling with the creature he screams to Beans when he bursts into the doorway,
Beans! Kill this fucking thing! Get it off!

The creature manages to lean in closer, Beef struggles to keep it from biting him.

Delta

Hearing the sounds of the antlions at the Inn Delta wakes from his hide. He crawls out taking his crossbow as he moves. He moves to the edge of the cliff he is on where he looks down his scope. Looking over at the Inn he see's an Antlion Guard and a swarm of antlions attacking the Inn. He looks around where they are swarming. Delta notices Bean's car outside.He looks at the car through his scope then letting out a quite grunt of anger. He looks to the Inn and see's Bean's going in and slamming the door. Delta then grabs a bit of paper writing some notes down then goes back to his crossbow. Delta scouts the rest of the Inn seeing no one he recognizes. He hear's some AR2 fire but doesn't associate it with Violet. However as he moves to go back inside his hide he see's Violet. He looks at her then to the guard. He aims his scope toward the guard as he grabs a near molten bolt from his fire. Delta then controls his breathing, checks the wind, distance and other factors and he waits for a shot at it's head.

The tiny Headcrab looks up slightly as Ori offers his shoulder, the headcrab seems uncertain, looking up and down at the figure suspiously. He then makes the painfully slow trip up his arm, making it seem like a giant tarauntuala is crawling up his arm, a rather creepy sight for everyone. The headcrab pulls itself forward up onto his shoulder, sitting upon it like a four-legged parrot from an alien world. The headcrab remains silent a moment, before throwing its front legs gleefully in the air, the back legs tightening slightly so he doesn't fall, he lets out a rather loud squeal of joy, obviously not being given a 'Shoulder-back ride' in awhile. After a moment, the headcrabs front legs ease back onto Ori's shoulder, his back legs loosening, from there his squeal of joy dies down to a little headcrab giggle.

Thomas starts running to the inn hearing the gun fire and quickly draws his concealed 9mm and gets in the inn to spot the Antlion on beef and takes a quick aim at center mass and fires off four rounds attempting to kill the creature on beef.



The Old man starts running as fast as he can with his bolt action rifle in his hand pointed at the ground and starts charging up the hill to the cottage and pulls out his radio keeping one hand on the rifle.
Is there anyone out there!? I'm on my way to the inn, someone explain what I'm charging in too!

After the headcrab got on Ori's shoulder, he pets it a little.
However, a sound comes from his handheld radio, it is fuzzy, but still a bit understoodable, due to Joanna's work. He pulls it out, and pushes a button on it.

"Yes there is! Get to the Inn As fast as you can, Antlions are attacking the town! Do not fight the guard, do /not/ fight it alone!"
The transmission may be too fuzzy to understand due to the storm, however.

[Elions]

Fuck-! We've got to get inside! NOW!
Eli reaches at Violet, pulling her into the Inn with him, they rush towards the Inn's doors as the Antlion guard pushes over the fence that separates the hill from the town.

Inside, the Antlion who was attacking beef is killed quickly by Thomas, while the left one inside, overhearing the Antlion guard, backs away from the Inn, trying to avoid Beans and Scruffy as it notices their scent.
 
The Antlions seem to give room for the guard to attack as it finally lounges at the Inn, with Violet and Eli barely making it inside. The guard charges towards Eli, recognizing the figure from old scoutings that he had done before by their nest, however, it gets stuck when it tries to push through the Inn's door, only managing to drop Eli down onto the floor, where with it's massive legs it attempts to trap him. The Antlion guard writhes in pain from it's legs being stuck inside the inn, trying to pull out frantically as Eli rolls left and right as needed, trying to avoid the massive creature's legs, he manages to grab onto one, getting pulled back and forth by it's continuous movement. He manages to stab at the creature's head in the confusion, making it toss him aside in anger. The antlion guard continues to try and lounge at Eli and Violet, there's no place where to attack it right now without being in danger as they back away from it, Eli grabbing his arm in pain, seemingly broken.

Jesus fuck... That thing's going to tear the bloody wall apart unless we do something.

The other Antlions outside seem to gather close to the Antlion guard's exposed back, seemingly protecting him from other individuals as it writhes, trying to get into the Inn.

Thomas goes up to Beef and tries to give him a helping hand to get him back on his feet.

As hes reaching to help Beef he looks over his shoulder.
Where the hell is the artillery you guys have?

Jennifer stands in the doorway, firing a volley of arrows as the guard charges towards the Inn doorway, and Eli. As the guard gets close, she drops her bow, dives to the side, quickly yanking out her axe just in time to hack away at an antlion in the general party along with it. As more and more antlions form up on the guard, Jennifer frantically looks for a way to get back into the Inn. She notices a small window behind her, just big enough to squeeze through. She smashes the glass in, thrusting her axe back out and over her head to kill an antlion in front of her.

Someone in there cover me! I'm going through the window!


As she says that, she tosses her axe in, and dives into it, getting a rather nasty cut along her left arm. Her left leg, however, gets stuck on the way through. Her pant leg is caught on a chunk of glass!

Shit, my leg is stuck!

As Jennifer struggles to rip her leg free, an antlion takes a bite at her leg. Indeed, it makes contact, followed by a scream from Jennifer.

Somebody shoot this fucking bug damnit!!!

Beef gets up smiling for the moment, he then turns to a serious face and looks to Jennifer.

 quickly saying to Thomas, Go help Jennifer, I gotta get to the basement and help the people inside!

As he makes a dash to the basement door, he looks back to Thomas hoping he went to help her.

Finally getting to the Inn basement door, he bangs on the door hoping it isn't locked....

Meaty? Joanna? It's Beef, Open up quick!

//Yes, it is a combine sniper rifle I’m using, so the common blue laser pointer would be there.

As she looks through the scope of her rifle, hearing the calls over the radio, she quickly manages to put two and two together, realizing the town is under attack by something. As she looks through the scope, she would notice the single standing antlion on the roof of the inn, taking it as her new target. As she locks her aim onto it, she starts to breathe deeply and slowly, before holding her breath entirely. She follows the antlion’s movement through the scope, before she decides the best time the shot would be. She slowly starts to press the trigger in, holding her breath as her aim is locked onto the antlion, aiming towards its main body. As soon as the presser is trigger far enough in, a single pulse bullet would leave the barrel of the rifle, seeking towards its primary target; The antlion body and the loud sound of the common combine sniper rifle would be heard, echoing through the valley hopefully enough to confuse the antlions and not reveal her position.
The bullet would fairly quickly strike into its primary target, hopefully hitting what it was supposed to, penetrating the scales of the antlion and digging through the flesh beneath. The force of the bullet would possible make the antlion lose its grip of the roof and grouped up with the horrible storm, possible ripping it off the roof.

((That is for Elions to decide, whether it strikes it target or not and if it falls off or not.))

As soon as she has pulled the trigger, assuming she did hit her target, she would look over the forest yet again, barely seeing what appears to be a larger figure, moving through it but aren’t in the position to tell what it would be. As she barely can see what it is, her aim shifts back towards the inn, aiming towards the windows, searching through the open spots, hoping she would be able to spot a few survivors inside. Due to the darkness and the weather, she isn’t able to see enough, yet she keeps looking.

Due to not realizing, what she’s currently doing, she haven’t had the thought of the blue laser pointer still being on, following her aim. As she have her aim towards the windows, the blue laser pointer would easily be seen, penetrate the mere glass of the windows, “searching” over the floor of the inn, in whatever it may seek. People would easily be able to see it, if they were in the main hall of the inn and on the first floor, near the fireplace.
As she searches, she slowly whispers for herself, freezing in the cold wind.

"Please, don’t be dead to me…"
