Right, I removed the game from my computer a while ago, and now I re-installed it again.

Everything was normal, got to the menu etc. But when I started a single player game I noticed the game was fucked up. I could not see the 'menu' on the bottom of my screen, this includes the mini-map and the buttons down there. And the 'fog of war' was gone.

The game is unplayable like this, halp?

If we're starting about 'run as administrator' try compatibility issues

There is no AoM two or three, running it as administrator would be pointless due to I can start the game, but the game itself is bugged.
