They sat on a battered couch, obvously in District Two... The man had a pistol next to him as he lay a comforting arm over his spouce.. "It's gonna be ok.." He tried to re-assure her.. But it was to no effect.. He came in closer to try and comfort her, he keept whispering re-assurance.. Their lives were in termoil...

Team Sundown Three hugged the shadows and rounded a corner.. They had to be near by the Team Leader thought he put two fingers to his ear and listened.. "Team Sundown Three set Viscerators at sector index Five and advance for combat we have biotics on the perimiter, the link buzzed dead, he replied "Helix Two go inactive and intercept leader core out" He nodded to his 5 man fire team, they kicked an old wooden door in and stormed the stairs..

They heard a large crash, he turned towards the door and grabbed the pistol. He stood and took a defensive postion with the pistol one handed poiting towards the door and another hand comforting his girlfriend..  His thoughts raced.. 'This is it' he thought as the door burst in, a hail of bullets shredded his body. His girlfriend's head exsploded as his body tumbled out the open window into the night sky.. To burst on the rockrete below..

FYI. Rockcrete is a creation from Warhammer 40K. Its as strong as granite but can be poured like concret. Definitely wasn't invented before 2016.

I used rockrete not because its W40k, but simply because the Combine are so much more advance then us; they'd have to have something like it, right?

They'd probably be using some sort of advanced metal-alloy stuff. The combine seem to prefer metals more than rock and concrete.
