1994 Silverado
« on: May 04, 2015, 05:26:59 PM »
So, I have been working on this for a while now and all... but I have not made an archive for my photos yet... so here it is. :P

It is currently almost done paint wise... next is the LS6 I'm putting into it.

It has almost no rust, considering where I live, that is a premium.  However, it had a skirt/ground effects on it from an aftermarket factory that produced the truck as a special package... along with a few other things.  This truck is pretty sound except for the fact that the aftermarket shop ghetto rigged just about everything they put into the shop... including all of the screws and bolts that were on the skirt.  I have to weld and put quite a bit of body filler onto this thing to fix the spots.

Pictures will be a thing once I figure out how to add them to the post from my phone. :/

It's not that big of a vehicle... It's smaller than a new Dodge Charger.

The 350 that it has gets about 20-25.  17 city, 25 highway.

LS6, depending on how I build it  up... will be around the same unless I do dual turbo.

Just for ease sake:

Well... it had like 8 layers of shitty baby puke green paint on it... and it was horribly sprayed on the last paint job.  Idk who did the paint on this thing before I bought it... but my lord it is bad.    Not to mention, if you take it down to the metal and do a clear coat over a shiny primer, it will make the paint have a higher gloss look.  Also, it will stick better.

Make sure you remove any chemicals that might be deep inside the metal. I had the engine resprayed on my motorbike and the guy had to remove two coats and it's still fucked. When I next get the engine off I might just remove all of the paint and just put a metallic protective coat on.

How long do you think this project will take you?

Well, I know what you mean.  but I won't have that problem.  Making sure of that. And as for the time line...  when the paint is done, in a weeks.  I will be doing the engine and more things.  So probably, over all... 5 years.
