Signature on posts
« on: August 15, 2014, 02:27:13 AM »
How can I set up a signature on my posts? I need to know where I can get the picture (preferably a gif) and what I need to do to make it appear clearly on my posts.  Thanks everyone!

It's just like making a forum post.  Use BB code.

Put the link of the image/gif. Also, remove the * from the [*Img].

You can edit your signature right there:
http://www.catalyst-gaming.net/index.php?action=profile;area=forumprofile

Then when you have a picture online, make sure you get the direct link of it. The easiest way to do this is to right-click on the image, and choose "view image". then your browser opens the image all by itself with nothing else on the page. Then copy the URL from that page.

Then go back to edit your signature, and paste the URL within image tags for example, like below:

[img]http://puu.sh/aLwjm/9ed309962f.png[/img]

Which will then end up in the following:

However, that is quite big isn't it? So we can also resize it if we want to.
The easiest way to resize to big images it using the thumb tags as below:

[thumb]http://puu.sh/aLwjm/9ed309962f.png[/thumb]

Which will result in this:

Click to see the original size.

That's a lot smaller! But when you click on it, it will automatically resize to the original size for better view. Then when you click on it again it becomes small again.

Another way to manually resize it to a specific size you want yourself, you can tell BB code to limit the image to a certain width or hight with the following code:

[img width=150]http://puu.sh/aLwjm/9ed309962f.png[/img]

Which will result in:

Which means the image is limited to 150 pixels wide. Replace width with hight to limit it on hight.

Hope this helps! Just copy paste any of the examples above and replace the link with a direct link of your own image. Gifs work too.
Also keep in mind that the forum has an auto-resize system when the image in your signature is to big. So don't make it to big or it will be automatically resized to an acceptable size ;)
Check out my Youtube channel with all kinds of cool videos including LP's which I'm currently working at. Don't forget to give feedback as well. ;)
