IC Character Name: Alexei Borisnovitch Strelnikov
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Metropolice Force and what lead your character to do so.I want Alexei to join the MPF because, quite frankly, I've thouroughly enjoyed the RP I've gone through so far on my other unit (C45.MPF.NOVA-OfC.900) and I enjoyed the recruit RP, way-back-when on C18.
ICly, my character was lead to apply for the MPF by constantly seeing them around. While he's never been a hardcore loyalist, he figured that he had better do something with his life rather than sitting around and waiting for the next ration cycle, and after actually doing some work for the Union and recieving Loyalist points, he made up his mind - MPF it was.
Given that Alexei and 900 are
extremely different characters, I'm eager to see how Alexei as a unit will end up. 900 has (in my opinion) gone well and I've enjoyed developing him, so I'd like to give it a go with a character who has a much different personality.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Metropolice Force to be like for you and your character. I already know what the MPF will be like OOCly, as I already have a unit. Like I said, I enjoy recruit RP and I'm interested in seeing how a new unit will play out - especially with Alexei's personality.
For Alexei's in-character side of things, I think it will be interesting. Alexei and 900's original citizen could not be more different, so I imagine they'll both end up in very different positions ICly.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Alexei was born in Vologograd, Russia in 1986 - the final years of the Cold War - to a poor family. Struggling to put food on the table, his father worked in a steel mill during the day and at a grain factory in the night, working both jobs to support Alexei and his sickly mother, Ludmila. All was relatively well for eleven years.
In January of 1991, Alexei's mother passed away. Her lung cancer had finally claimed her life, and Alexei's father dropped his job at the grain factory as he no longer needed to support her as well. Alexei was traumatized by this, and slowly progressed from a raucous youth of eleven to a quiet, introverted bookish child. His father continually tried to re-engergize Alexei, to no avail.
In August of 1994, Alexei's father managed to secure a transit visa and relocated from Volgograd to London, England. It was here that he learned that his father was HIV positive, and had contracted AIDS. He was dead by 1998. Alexei, at the age of 18 and no longer a legal minor, managed to avoid orphanage and used his meager inheritance to move his remaining possessions to a small homestead in the countryside village of Hexham. Here, he took up running and cartography as hobbies.
When the Seven-Hour War occured in 2015, Alexei, now aged 29, managed to avoid most of the combat. Distant gunfire could be heard and the occasional aircraft passed overhead, but traffic had been suspended on the country roads during the Portal Storms and as such most military personnel stuck to the highways. He was eventually located shortly after the war's conclusion, and was transferred to the newly-established City 22.
Having lived in City 22 for his entire Combine-ruled life, he was eventually transferred to City 45. There, he walked in the grey area of loyalism - neither friend nor enemy of the Union. Life has gone on ever since.
In June of 2019, he applied for the Metropolice Force after doing some work for a unit and finding he enjoyed the Union more than he thought he did. Being labelled a loyalist and recieving two rations at the day's ration cycle was the final nail in the coffin, and his mind was made up - Alexei Strelnikov was going to become a Union representative.
