ASSESSMENT #1 - IC situation: You have just been tasked with escorting a VIP (in this case, a Civil Administrator) from the Nexus to the center of the plaza for a speech. It is expected that an attempt will be made on the VIP's life today at an unknown time. A citizen begins to follow your escort group. You suspect that they belong to a rebel group who intend to kill the VIP. How do you approach the situation? Be creative.

** The double door opens and a pair of Overwatch units emerge from behind them, making their way to the half of the translucent bridge.
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.11492 mimics the other unit, turning around and observing the area. He then walks down the stairs, repeating the process from a different perspective as the fellow soldier enters and searches the citizen hospitals lobby. „Area clear“, he announces over the radio.
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.84701 eyes the couple of citizens sitting in the hospital waiting room, sliding back out and closing the door. He returns back to the Nexus entrance. „Area clear. Administrator, join us outside. “
** The administrator exits the Nexus, stretching her arms as she inhales deeply, complaining „I wish I had this fresh air up there in the office, too. “
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.84701 ignores the remark: „Administrator, stay in between me and 11492. Keep walking, no pauses. “
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.11492 waits for the unit and the administrator to descend the steps, assuming his position behind the VIP as 84701 leads the way. The formation then begins walking towards the Plaza. He occasionally glances back while moving to make sure the tail of citizens maintains safe distance.
** The escort walks down to the secondary Nexus entrance. Almost simultaneously, a pair of glass bottles begins rolling down the slopes, one from the front and one from the rear. “Retreat, retreat, get in!” the units shout aloud, receding towards the Nexus door, shoving the confused administrator inside the building.
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.84701 keeps on moving, pushing the administrator further inside. “Go on. Don’t stop until you’re behind that door. Stay there until we come for you, understood?”
** The administrator blinks anxiously, nodding once and strolling behind the distant door, stunned.
UTA.OTA.VANGUARD.11492 radios in: “Possible code 51B or 27 of 30. Units, clamp area in front of Nexus entrance bravo, do not approach. Search all citizens in the Plaza near the tunnel and in the cut-off street with the citizen hospital, inclusive.”
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.84701 exchanges a look with 11492 once the administrator is safe inside the Nexus, heading back into the tunnel. “84701 and 11492 now diagnosing threat, administrator status green, inoculation successful, 10-20 Nexus.”
** The door slides up to reveal a citizen crouching near one of the bottles, closing a zippo lighter to its neck.
UU.OTA.VANGUARD.11492 storms out from the door followed by 84701. He lowers his stance, raising the pulse rifle and taking aim at the citizen. “Freeze! Don’t move!” he yells.
** The citizen eyes the two Overwatch units, dropping the lighter. He stands up and darts towards the Plaza. “You’ll never get me alive!” he shouts right before he runs directly into a crowd of Metropolice units with weapons raised.
C18.MPF.RAZOR-OfC.65362 isn’t silly and pulls his arm backwards on the sight of the desperate act, thrusting his elbow into the anti-citizens face, breaking his nose and knocking him out. “Recruit, tie, search and detain. Oh-one, observe him and get him patched up, he’s your responsibility now. We need him alive. His citizenship is revoked.”
** The units flinch as one of the two glass bottles turns ablaze, everyone retreating from the area.
“Administrator, return to your office. The speech is cancelled, the city is now code red. 84701 will escort you further up.” UU.OTA.VANGUARD.11492 radios in, slipping around the aflame bottle and moving through the tunnel to help search the citizens who were cut off in the citizen hospital street, searching for the other 647E.

ASSESSMENT #2 - OOC situation: The following scenario has taken place: a player who is in command of a criminal character in possession of hidden contraband was in the process of being handcuffed before they suddenly ran away without any valid RP. A member of the administration team locates and brings the offending player back to where they started. The player does not seem to understand the rules of the server. They are frozen in place while the administrator is sent to deal with an urgent matter. Before the administrator leaves, you are asked to explain to the player about what they did wrong. How do you proceed?

I’d explain them that same as on any other serious roleplaying server, it’s mandatory to roleplay everything with detail, especially in a combat situation; that it’s against the rules to escape situations like they just did and that they have to make a roleplay attempt in order to do what they intended. I’d show them a couple of examples of possible /me’s they might consider performing and point out that they have to wait for the other side of the scenario to respond with their own /me(‘s) before they take the actual OOC action and start running. I’d then attempt carrying on with the situation, explain further or notify the administrator that they’re unable to grasp the basics and direct them to a guide on the forums if the admin's still busy.
