Mapping / Odd lighting issue
« on: June 05, 2014, 08:33:12 PM »
I'm having some issues with Rockford. In large areas, static props are only being lit by the ambient value of the light_environment. Yet the same props in other areas are being lit by both. It's not the props themselves or the origin. I've tried this. It seems that if a static prop is in that specific area, it doesn't receive sun rays, only ambient rays. There are no brushes to explain why this is occurring.  I compiled with -staticproppolys and -textureshadows.

Here's a compile log:

Please read through each chapter as per your level. You must read the chapters in numerical order. Advanced skills are to be done in person with an ACP or the director, once you have reached a notice in the training book stating you are now eligible for advanced skill training. The attached DVD contains all training videos to watch. You will be notified in the chapters when to watch a specific clip on the DVD. If you do not have access to a TV and DVD player, one is provided in the office in the hospital. Once you have completed a level of chapters and have been checked off on all the advanced skills, you may ask for an evaluation once you are comfortable with your skills.

Citizen Hospital / STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT: Training Changes
« on: April 30, 2014, 08:32:31 PM »
Changes to the training and evaluation system are currently being made. No longer will staff be required to be lectured on material during work hours. Complex skills will still be demonstrated and taught in person, but most of the material is being moved to textbooks and demonstrational videos which can be viewed and read at home. Staff will need access to a television with disk playback capabilities.

Evaluations will be changed as well. Staff will now be evaluated on every skill with multiple scenarios rather than just one. If you have read all the training chapters and have attended and properly demonstrated all required advanced skills, you may contact the director at any time to be evaluated.

If you fail an evaluation, you will be required to repeat all the evaluation tests again after one week.

Applications / Authorization Applications
« on: March 14, 2014, 11:47:33 PM »
If you wish to obtain some uncommon equipment or abilities for your character, you will first need to have those authorized by a HL2RP super administrator. Simply fill out an application using the format below. The administration team will read through your application and raise concerns about it before the final decision is made.
As for now, this thread is reserved for authorization applications only. Do not use this thread to discuss the policies. A separate thread has been created for that purpose.

Your application will be denied if:
  • The backstory or the requested perks are not in accordance to the Half-Life 2 canon.
  • It contains too many typographical or grammar errors.
  • It requests a perk that is included in the restrictions list below.
  • You ask/hint us to review it any sooner than 4 days since it was posted or show general impatience during the review process.
  • Your roleplaying skills and/or community reputation are deemed insufficient to handle the requested perks.
  • You use the 'Edit' function to alter the perks or any other critical information and do not explicitly mention it in a reply to the application thread.
  • You have not contributed at least 10 constructive posts to the forum excluding the application post/thread.

You may not apply for any of the following:
  • Canon character - Alyx Vance, Eli Vance, Gordon Freeman, etc.
  • Anything related to Black Mesa and/or Aperture Science.
  • The 'V', 'G', 'n' or 'z' flag.
  • Resistance clothing.
  • Supernatural powers.
  • Synthetics (unavailable through authorization applications)
  • City scanners (unavailable through authorization applications)
  • Vortigaunts (unavailable through authorization applications)

The following may be applied for but will only be available on the Outlands server when it is brought back up:
  • Vehicles / the 'C' flag.

We reserve the right to revoke any granted perk if you are found abusing it. The application may also be revoked as a whole, based on the severity of your misbehaviour.
Keep in mind that applying for a highly specific perk (e.g. stalkers, barnacles) may require a modification of the script until it is made available to you.

Suggestions / Faction leader abilities
« on: March 12, 2014, 12:15:34 PM »
So right now, whenever i add someone to the citizen hospital roster, i have to find a SA+ to add him/her to the faction and change the model.

If there was a way where faction leaders (cwu, loyalist party, etc) could add people to their faction only and change the models, that would be fantastic.

This map would have a lobby with teleporters to each arena. But i dont know what to make for them. I want to have 6 different arenas

The first will be an antlion cave pit like in ineu valley 2. What should i do for the other 5?

We've got way too many boards that are never/barely used to be on the base forum page. Please merge some, subforum some, or remove some. Ty

Here's what I suggest gets changed:
Remove youtube discussion (people mostly post in media anyway)
Remove live streams (or put it in general discussion)
Merge 'Support & Help', 'Bug Reports', 'Suggestions', and 'Donation Questions & Trades' as subforums of "Community Topics"
Put HL2RP Development into HL2RP
Get rid of TTT and TF2 (and minecraft? or is it being used still)
