1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Before the Seven Hour War the only real thing that had interested him as a child was law enforcement. Typically, he never reached the age required to join any form of law enforcement due to the portal storms and the coming of the Xen creatures and the Universal Union. With the CCA being now the only governing authority on the whole planet, Jim would rather be one of the few who willingly sacrifice some of their morals in order to survive. In turn for both fulfilling his ideal dream position - he also gains a lot of power in terms of authority; which appeals to many people. So in all, without embarrasing himself, he assisted the Universal Union in several small matters to the best of his abilities in order to clarify his status as being compliant. Not only is it out of self goals, but many of his own friends are doing the exact same thing - so factors of peer pressure also apply.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Really depends on his rank as that determines his level of augumentation. At a Recruit/04/03/02 status however, the bare minimum would be lawful and responsible for his actions.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.As I've been in many CCA's in the past, I have a fairly in-depth idea as to what the CCA will be like for myself and my character. While there are more public and well known activities for CCA units such as basic training, the more subtle things also apply to me; such as befriending other units and interrogations and overseering certain activites. The general aspect of being law enforcement however also appeals, especially with the brutality that can be enforced on malcompliant citizens and the like.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.The snow falls gently across the breeze from the wind, the sun barely lightning what remains of the snow encrusted park. The swing groans to the breeze of the wind, consistently in tone with the gusts of wind. Looking around himself, he realises he’s alone. The soft crunch of footsteps echoes towards him, positioned directly behind him. Placing his hands on the in graven wood, he turns around to face her. In her hand lies a camera.
The sounds of the trains in the distance accompanied by the gentle rocking of the carriage shake Jim out of his sleep. His eyes still half closed with a combination of sleep and dirt smeared against his face, he manages to pull himself up from the seat and peer out the window. The sun glares down at carriage that he resides in, the scorching heat having already been visible in the damp patches of his clothes that now stuck to the seat. He was surely close now, for he had swapped already through four trains at different cities; yet none of them being his location. City Thirty-Seven, Fourty-One, they all seemed similar yet all were different. Even some of the citizens clothing had variations, yet the blank look on every face was identical. His thinking was suddenly stopped by the train’s brakes that squeaked ferociously as the carriage skidded to a halt. Shortly after, the artificial voice of a female projected itself across the carriage. 'Welcome to City Fourty-Five. All citizens are required to report to the nearest local Civil Protection Unit for CiD allocation immediately.'
The soft padding of his boots squeaked with every step he took, his mind blurred still with sleep and the active buzz of the people around him. Many, like him, had been relocated for reasons unknown to this new city - many of them sharing the same confusion as him. Yet Jim halted as he was confronted by something he hadn't seen for many years, a Vortigaunt in chains; sweeping away with two Civil Protection Units chatting as they guarded the creature. Only giving its attention to Jim for a split second, it then turned its back and continued its work. Looking at it, Jim's attention was soon brought to the screen that flickered above him - and the words that were being said. 'Welcome to City Fourty-Five. It's safer here.'
