smt, rofl, thank you.

but to the haters, why can't a man spend his life with some one he loves? You claim emotions now, then respect other people's.

A choice? LOL, you don't get out of the shower, dry off, look in the mirror, then said "Dick sounds appetizing." No, it's more like "Huh, susy is nice, but John makes me blush and turn my head when he approaches. Gosh, I can't think why." At 5

Denying some one's right to the pursuit of happiness is in direct violation of the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land.

Also, god made everyone PERFECT in HIS IMAGE. So you insult God.

Two things wrong with your persuit of happiness thing. One is you don't need a gay lover to be happy, and more importantly that only applies if getting your persuit of happiness doesn't infringe on others, if someone gets off on serial murder we don't allow it even though it might deny him the right. Even if allowing gay marriage wouldn't make countless people unhappy, there is still the issue that you can't force churches to allow gays to be married.

God made man in his image, meaning the fact that we look the way we do is because of him, like the arms and legs deal. However our psyche is completly different so unless I'm saying that arms are ugly and people who have them are bad, I'm not saying anything against God.

I'm religious in the sence I believe in God, but I don't follow many of his teachings, nor do I take the bible at its word about how I should lead my life. That being said I still hate homosexuals for the sole reason they disgust me, and thus I am against allowing them to marry. Hating them to me is the same as hating a spider is to people, I didn't choose to any more than they chose to be gay, and I could probably change my views if I opened up and exposed myself to more gay people, but I feel no reason to so for the forseable future I oppose gay rights.

What's the reason, if any? Just interested, what "disgusts" you? Is it the fact another man might be attracted to you, do you hate gay males as much as lesbian females?

That's the thing, though. Whenever I ask my parents why they dislike gays, their only reason is "Because they're fucking faggots." Or in more cases, "Because they're fucking dykes."

It's stupid. People grow up hating gays, they don't know why, it was just etched into them, probably because of their parents. I remember I used to complain about gay people to my dad JUST BECAUSE HE INSTILLED IT INTO ME. Unless a roving gang of homosexuals broke into your house and killed your family... I don't really see any logical explanation as to why we should hate gays.

Though I know you're just making a point, the fact a roving gang of homosexuals broke into your house and killed your family would still more than likely have nothing to do with their sexuality, unless they happened to only do this because they were homosexual and hated straight people or something, just saying :V

Sorry so many comments apeared before I responded. The fact a man might be attracted to me does disgust me, but just the idea of two of the same sex having an attraction towards eachother is disgusting and makes me shudder. And yes that applies to lesbians as well. I am of the opinion that homosexuality is a disorder and embracing it is stupid in my opinion. And for anyone who might say it isn't because animals can also be homosexual, animals can also be retarded or have stillborns, but that doesn't make it good.

But why hate? Hatred is that to be reserved for killers and your enemies; but an innocent man/woman whom likes their same sex? Why?

If it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, then don't think about it, or look away. But for god's sake, don't completely steal some one's right to love because of your skewed morals.

On the subject of religion, separation of Church and state. + God hates no one, and loves all, and made us all equal (Yes, you are infact the complete equal to a gay man!)

It all depends on what you mean by hate but I don't hate killers and neither do a lot of people, after all military men are "killers". Hate is like beauty, its in the eye of the beholder. Something that might mean nothing to one person may make another completly loathe you, so I don't see why homosexuality would be an exception. I also don't approve of you saying scewed morals as you can't really impose your morals on us and say you're right and we are wrong. Finally, on the Church, just like everyone else here not gonna start a big thing about whether Christianity is right or not, but gonna adress those points. Marriage takes place in a Church, or a Mosque or another religious place, performed by a preacher. Thus seperation of Church and state does not apply here as this legislation would directly affect religion, and thus they must have a say. While God hates no one he also recognizes evil in people and destroys them, thus the line about him being a vengeful God, so if the Christians believe God thinks gays are evil, there is justification in that. Finally, God created all men equal, but the origional man was straight, I believe the line all the religious nuts use is "God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve."

I am a white suburban kid living in one of the most benign places ever, so not many fights happen. I've been in a few but none ever last more than a few seconds. The most memorable would probably be in middle school when in the locker room Guy 1 shoved Guy 2 and then Guy 2 grabbed a pencil and attempted to stab him (I don't know if pencils can penetrate skin or not) but I blindsided Guy 2 and slammed him into a wall and then me and two of the biggest kids in the room grabbed the guy and pinned him unil the coach came. Not super exciting but the best one I have.

General Discussion / Re: Where Did You Get Your Name?

Creepy_Man_4: Name from when I was like 10, nuff said.

Jzin_Dar: Oblivion obsession. Name of a skooma adict in bravil that I though sounded cool.

NavySealMan: Became obsessed with the seals, pretty simple.

GamingZealot: Changes to when I got Starcraft 2. The idea of a zealot slamming his sabers on a computer trying to play amused me, as well as the name fitting me as a person who games zealously. Stuck with it so far.

Right... don't act cold on Unit... hmm.

Low ranks, which they are talking about, shouldn't be acting cold. They should relate to the citizens.

54

Then, why is it that in the actual game of Hl2, there were fully armed Refugees along the Canals? Are they magic? Hell, I even remember screwing around on that one Apartment map in HL2, and as the CCA member were busting in that one of the apartments I noticed a 'Citizen (Pistol symbol) Metrocop' in the right corner? Are they Wizzards that can magically have these 'few' weapons? And I do so recall the CCA not being implemented until AFTER the Seven Hour War.

There were fully armed Refugees along the Canals because there ARE guns, just few. Think about the ratio of how many armed civilians you see to Mertro Police. In HL2 (not counting episodes when the Union has been mostly over-run) you see what, like maybe 10 armed civilians before you more or less destroy the Union? And you are playing as Gordon Freeman, moving through areas so far out of city and remote. Not sure what you mean by "a 'Citizen (Pistol symbol) Metrocop' " And yes, I meant Union not CCA, sorry for the mistake.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / Re: Weaponry / Rebellion

Also, it was mentioned by Cpl. Tray that you could overpower lower ranking units to get guns. This actually isn't true, and is highly, highly frowned upon and its likely that you'll have to explain things and have it dealt with by an admin on the server if you were to ever do this. The main issue is, the only way to get a weapon from a unit is to kill them. And you can't kill them unless you have a gun, which you couldn't have, and even if you did, the firefight would have be RP'd out properly and probably overseen by an admin. So the only other way is to find their dead body, which won't happen, or to prop kill them, which is bannable.

True and false at the same time. You CAN kill units below 02 because non-heavy kevlar equipment has gaps that can be exploited by knives, namely the on in the back of the neck. We had a lot of trouble with this back when there were HaPs and they could be snuck up on, that's one of the reasons you now have two units clamp them. There are two reasons though, that you will almost never get a gun from a unit. First off their biosignals, when they are knocked out or killed we would immediatly know when and where it happened and OTA would come down on you like a hammer and kill you. Second, any weapons in holster are biolocked inside so you could not remove them, so only unholstered guns would be able to be taken, and if a gun is unholstered odds are you aren't gonna be able to take the unit out.

56
The reason its harder to get guns (to my knoledge) is that during and post war, the CCA thouroughly sweeped through the world and either collected or destroyed more or less all the weapons. This is why there is only the MP7, 9mm, and SPAS-12 and such. This means asside from a few exceptions the only guns you would be getting would be from dead Union members or ones they lost which would be few indeed. As for smuggling from outlands to city, ICly you have to pass through a OTA bunkey/headquarters to get to outlands. The base is more to keep outland members out than to keep city people in is what I am guessing, that's why its so hard to get an outlands person back to city ICly. As for the radios being more available the explanation would be that while the Union did destroy all that technology that got in their way, I imagine more of it slipped through their fingers as it wasn't as large of a threat, being level two and three contraband. Finally, if you are looking for an SMG or pistol to defend yourself from OTA on the city, that's not going to help you. In the outlands you can hide from OTA and should, in the city the entire point is be careful and don't get OTA involved, it is designed so you won't win.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / Re: Character Theme Songs
« on: August 05, 2012, 07:49:14 PM »
C45.CCA.APEX.OFC.158's theme song would be "Hurt", specifically the cover by Johnny Cash because I like it better. Many of the lyrics represent a lot of what the higher officers in the CCA feel if you twist them a bit, and 158 has lost many comrades close to him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur8j4xWe_44

That's the only character I know what their theme song would be.

I'm not gonna make a long post here for two reasons, one is that I'm a lazy arse, the other is because most of this issue has been argued into the ground. However there is one point here I dissagree with.

YES. THANK YOU. I ACTUALLY FACE PALMED WHEN I READ WHAT HE SAID. Age does NOT equal maturity. I play airsoft, and the indoor field i play at created "over 16 only" midnight games, to try to give arenas that didn't have 12 year old codfags running around screaming and cussing because their mommys saw the yearly membership as an opportunity for cheap daycare. I've found, that more often than not, these midnight games are a PROBLEM. Immature 16 year olds are a much larger problem, both physically and communicativley, than immature 12 year olds. And boy oh boy, immature 16+, not in short supply. At all. Age is not the issue, maturity is the issue. It's not necisicarally true that the minges are immature, either. We all just need to understand what we are looking for in good RP, and to put leashes on everything we say and do, that's not good RP, that's creative stranglehold.

You guys are all saying that some 12 year olds can be more mature and better at RP than some 16 year olds, and that is true, but not the issue. An immature 16 year old is way below the standard of good RP and the 12 year olds that are better are still below it. The fact is without experience and education you can't RP effectively, and 12 year old kids just don't have that. I have friends on the RP server who are younger and honestly I don't have any issue with them personally, but a lot of people who aren't at least 15-16 have many problems with their RP skill. They simply don't have the IRL experiences to figure out how they would reactif put into these situations or the knoledge to know how some things work. To anyone reading these posts who was less than 16 or so when they started RP like I was go back and look at your old RP. Yes, some of the mistakes are caused by you being new to RP but a lot were also caused by not having the experience to deal with the situations. If there are 12 year olds who are up to the standard of good serious RP somehow they are few and far between. The fact is even a good 12 year old RP'r is still well below the standards set by the mature older RP'rs.

Sorry but I'd been told ever since I started playing on the server our 7 hour war was during 2015 not 2014. Either I was lied to and I need to change my applications or it was changed recently.
