News and Announcements / Catalyst-Gaming Minecraft
« on: April 07, 2013, 08:52:57 PM »

Thank you vizioN for the wonderful banner.

    IP: 64.31.14.194:25565

    Introduction
So, what is this you ask? Many of you know that I made a server a little while ago. This is basically it, but I don't have to pay for this one! I was offered a spot on Catalyst-Gaming's server box, and being the cheap ass I am, I took it.

    What's Different From Your Server?
Nothing, other than a couple new unnoticeable features and a few new noticeable ones. The unnoticeable ones are just a different permissions plugin and chat handler, but you can still set a nickname with colors, so don't worry.

But what's the new features? Well, KarmaLord(#TimeLord) helped me A LOT with the server, and one thing he added is a creative world. There's a portal at spawn made out of wool that teleports you to the creative world. The creative and survival worlds have separate inventories, so nothing can be brought to and from each world.

Another feature is all regions, besides spawn and creative world, are gone. Little England no longer has regions. You can not destroy other people's stuff in creative, nor can you place or destroy bedrock.

"But my stuff!" Yes, protect it. Hide it. Build traps. Go ahead and kill players that are trying to take from you. THAT'S WHAT VANILLA SURVIVAL IS.

"But what if I'm not online!?" LWC has been added and is only active when you're offline. Read the commands that you're allowed(http://www.catalyst-gaming.net/index.php?topic=23613.msg173227#msg173227), lock your chests with a password, and add the players you wish to open it to the allowed list.

The last thing is new ranks. Owner has been changed to manager, and developer and moderator have been added. Developer is basically just Karma, and moderator is a low end admin.

    What's Happening to Your Server?
I don't know. I'll figure something out. If you have suggestions, tell me. I own it until the end of June.

    New Rules
Yes, new rules. Read them. Abide by them. Or else...

    Here's the new full list.

    • Treat ALL players with respect.
    • Do not kill someone for no reason. Only engage in combat if you feel they are a threat to you and/or your property. Yes, you can raid and mug, but they have every right to try and kill you. If you're just walking by someone and they are no threat to you, don't kill them.
    • Do not grief someone's property. You may break blocks here and there if you are raiding, but don't just demolish their house.
    • Just because a rule isn't listed doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you're unsure, ask a moderator, admin, manager, or developer.

    [/list]

Social Discussion / What Traits Describe You?
    « on: February 03, 2013, 09:55:10 AM »
Simple, what are some traits you have that you're proud of?

For me, I'm proud to say I'm a hard worker. If I am given work, I won't slack off and put it off, I'll get it done and won't stop until it's done. A few times I was working on my friend's car with him, and we were up until 4am just because of our devotion. Another trait is the fact that I can learn easily and on my own. A lot of kids in my school rely on the teacher to tell them everything, but I'm able to pick up the textbook and teach myself(Which a lot of times gives me more information than my teacher). I'm also a huge patriot. I'm from America, love America, and support America in every way possible. Sure, there may be some screw ups here and there, but that's how countries work.

So yeah, what are some of yours?

    Rap
    Hip Hop
People who just have absolutely zero ambition and complain about any work they're given.
People who don't keep up with their lawn/house.
    City life.
    People who complain about hunting.
    People that smoke weed.
People who mooch off of others.

Support & Help / New Monitor
    « on: December 03, 2012, 10:56:17 AM »
I'm looking for a new monitor. My old HP w2007 is getting old and I'm looking to upgrade to 1920x1080. Got any suggestions? My budget is $170ish, max $200(Not including shipping). I'm from America if you don't know, so I can use Newegg.

I've been looking at this one, but I've never been much of a monitor enthusiast.

Social Discussion / Crashed My Car
    « on: November 16, 2012, 10:27:59 PM »
So this morning (November 16) on the way to school I lost control of my vehicle. How is beyond me, I felt a big bump like I hit a pothole and then I was spinning out. I finally went off the road into a bunch of trees and crushed my front bumper and fender. Problem is, I don't have collision on my insurance, so any damage costs come out of pocket.

That's not the bad part that I'm worried about, though. Yes, it is bad of course, but it's the law I have to deal with. I made the dumbass mistake of leaving the scene and going to school and left my car there to get towed after school. I should have stayed, I know, but I didn't know. I panicked. Anyway, a cop drove by a noticed my car there on the side of the road. I was sitting in 2nd hour and got called down to my school officer's office. Turns out my car got impounded and fleeing the scene of an accident is a misdemeanor.

Luckily enough, the cop said I was a nice kid and since I had good grades, he changed my ticket a bit. Instead of getting a misdemeanor, he wrote me a citation for "Driving too fast in unsafe road conditions." I still have to go to court, but it sure is a lot better than having a misdemeanor. I do hope he doesn't show up to court, as if he doesn't my ticket gets tossed and wiped off my record.

On the other hand, my neighbor just so happens to be a cop. He knows me well, and has done good as an officer. I'm hoping I can talk to him about getting the officer to not show up, or at least getting my ticket changed to swerving to miss a deer(It is deer season here). If he can get the ticket changed to that, my insurance company will cover my damage even though I don't have collision.

If worst comes to worst, I will have to sell my car and take the loss. $220 to get my car from the impound lot, and then there is court fees and the actually ticket I will have to pay. It could have been worst, as I was lucky I could get my car to go in between two trees instead of into one.

So yeah, I hope I don't have to sell my car. If I do, well, I'll be down $1500-$2000 and won't have a car. I can definitely say I am thankful for having that cop change the ticket around. It saves me a bunch of problems, time, and money.

    General Discussion / NASCAR/Drag Racing
    « on: November 08, 2012, 03:25:37 PM »
Any NASCAR or drag racing fans here? Talk about your interest here. Note: This is NOT the place to make fun of the sports.

They are by far my two favorite auto sports. It's not the racing that I like, rather that atmosphere of the audience. There's nothing like waking up at 6am and driving out to the track, bbq'ing a some bratwurst for breakfast, then heading on down to the race.

As for drag racing, I just love, especially top fuel dragsters. Running less than 4 seconds in a quarter mile at 300+ MPH just puts a huge smile on my face.

    Any other fans?

    Introductions / I'm back(Again, again?)
    « on: July 26, 2012, 10:27:41 AM »
Well hi there! I'm wakeboarderCWB(Or Wake to most), and I've been off and on with the community. I joined the community last January when I found out about Harbor RP. I stuck with it and played HRP a lot, got promoted to admin, then super admin, and then left due to life reasons. I then came back, and left again. Yeah, I don't know what I did. I have a feeling I'm back for a long time now, though may not be as active(Basically any chance I get to be on the servers). Well, that's my history, now about my RP'ing:

I'm a serious Orange Cosmos Roleplayer. You will more than likely find me at a shop, a house(I actually make the house my home), or the occasional cop/medic/firefighter. I'm rarely mayor, though you may see me as one. I'm strict on the rules and if I find you breaking one, I will tell you what you did wrong and try to help you out as much as possible to understand it. If you know the rules and you're breaking them for fun, I will record you and post a ban request.

A bit about myself; I like wakeboarding and basically anything to do with lakes/watersports. I do have a job at a local grocery store and that takes up a lot of my time(34-38 hours a week), and when school starts I work all weekend. My favorite music is country and that's all I listen to. Old country, country rock and some country pop is fine with me. I've been RP'ing since Pulsar Effect, though the past year it's been off and on. Yeah, that's about it.

Anyway, to sum it up; This is my third(or fourth?) time coming back to CG. I'll be back for a bit longer this time probably, though my activity won't be as much(Still probably a couple hours a day, work/school depending). I'm a serious RP'er.

    Well, see you around!

General Discussion / New Jet Boat
    « on: April 14, 2012, 06:24:10 PM »
So I drove 500 miles to Indiana yesterday to pick up a jet boat. It's a nice boat, just needs to be put together. We're going to put some graphics on it, install seats and rewire the whole thing. I uploaded an album of the boat below, so take a look if you want.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/63236937@N08/sets/72157629446635138/

It's got a 455 Oldsmobile in it. Dual quad Holley carburetor. It's a 1979 Taylor jet boat. On a good, calm day out on the lake it should easily reach 80-85 MPH. Yeah, it'll be a nice Summer project with my brother and dad, so hopefully we can enjoy it in a few months.

Pulled the engine to get ready to do some structural work. This thing weighs a ton, but we got a engine stand that could hold it.

Click to see the original size.
Carb, scoop, and tunnel ram are off. We're going to  polish them up and do some powder coating.

Click to see the original size.
Started to grind out the stringers. Took around 5 days to get the out completely and grind out the rest of the hard fiberglass.

Click to see the original size.
    Both stringers are out.

Click to see the original size.
We got both stringers cut out, tops rounded off, and put them in place in their slots. We glued around the edges of them to hold them in place. We also got the rear bulkhead cut out, and all that needs to be done to that is grinding the top down and cutting out a slot for the belt drive from the engine.

Click to see the original size.
Stringers are fiber glassed in. Couldn't take any pictures of the process as the hardener hardens in 15 minutes. So we had to go and get it done with no distractions/interruptions.

Click to see the original size.
Rear bulkhead is now all set to be fiber glassed in. The edges are fiber glassed. We cut a little indent for the belt drive from the engine.

Click to see the original size.
Rear bulkhead is all put in and ready to go. Front bulkhead is made with entry holes. Bottom of the front bulkhead is fiber glassed in, but the top we're just going to carpet over.

Click to see the original size.
Close up picture of the front bulkhead.

Click to see the original size.
Floor supports are made and put in.

Click to see the original size.
Our little powder coating set up. You cans see the coating gun in the back laying against the box. After we powder coat the item, we just move the rack and put it directly in the oven(Which is right behind the tractor in the back).

Click to see the original size.
The pump housing is powder coated and we put a clear coat on it to bring the purple out.

Click to see the original size.
Impeller is out. Small chip that we fixed, hopefully we'll get a new impeller next year.

Click to see the original size.
Just some powder coated parts cooling down. They get baked at 450 until the powder begins to become liquid and "flow", then they get baked at 400 for 20 mins.

Click to see the original size.
We tried to sand blast the bell housing, but it didn't work too well. So then we decided to grind it out, which was taking forever. We went up to Home Depot and picked up some paint stripper, coated it and then just scraped the paint right off.

Click to see the original size.
Pump drive and shoe, along with the transom being gel coated. We had to spray paint these parts since they were too big for the oven, and the closest color we could fine to the powder coating purple was this :/ It's too deep of a purple, but it'll do.

General Discussion / Yes, I am Leaving.
    « on: April 05, 2012, 11:28:04 AM »
To start off, I am going back to Orange Cosmos, but please read the whole story. Let's begin.

A few months ago when I came back to Catalyst-Gaming I was basically on a mission to save OCRP. I believe RP is fading away in Garry's Mod, but I also believed it could be saved. I still believe it can be recovered, but I wish not to be part of it, and that is exactly why I am resigning from administrator. I will still play OCRP once in a while, but I will be happy that I won't have to stay on all night if the server gets out of control, I can just leave. It's not like I am just disappearing from CG, I will still be active on the forums and you may see me around on the other servers, just not RP as much. Some of the "CG Veterans", I guess you can call them, will probably think down of me since of my past experiences with CG. I was an admin in early 2011 and got promoted to Super Admin, but then I left. Then I came back and got admin, and now here we are. Well, if you have questions feel free to ask me. See you guys around on the servers :)

    Sincerely,
    wakeboarderCWB

    Introductions / Well, I'm Back
    « on: February 07, 2012, 04:45:39 PM »
Hey everyone! Well, I'm wakeboarderCWB and I used to be an active member back in early 2011. I left for some personal reasons, but I'm back now! You will most often see me on OCRP. Just to let everyone know, I am a serious roleplayer. You will always see me following the rules of the road or the laws put up by the mayor. I am also a cop 90% of the time.

To sum it all up; I was an active member in early 2011 and I left for some personal reasons. I'm back now and I am usually on OCRP. I am a serious RP'er. I usually RP a cop.

Hope to see you all in the server(s) :D

    Suggestions / Syntax Highlighting
    « on: October 14, 2011, 06:19:04 PM »
It's a fairly basic addon. It allows for syntax highlighting with programming/scripting languages. It would help a lot and it makes the code easier to read.
