There will be an OCRP update released tonight. The following is the changelog for the update.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Added new car scripts
Added 1 second bass radio delay to prevent phantom streams
Fixed SWAT spawning without ammo
Changed some grammar and spelling in hints and dialogue
Added the ability to use the attack button in a government vehicle to use the alternate siren
Added the ability to use the alt attack button in a government vehicle to activate and disable the lights and sirens (same as if you pressed sprint key)
Lowered the fire rate and damage on the SWAT UMP
Added a secret service P90
Increased the fire rate on the SWAT shotgun
Changed the lock pick hold type to pistol from shotgun
Fixed awards not being given until reconnect. Awards will be checked when you speak to any NPC.
Fixed hints showing OOC name to dispatcher.
Secret Service can use their phones.
Tazers no longer finish players.
Fixed phones not showing RP names
Made SWAT notice close when accepted
Made the Police only pay if SWAT is accepted
Removed a few possible exploits
Fixed bombcars

The update will be applied when the servers restart. This is update 7, so when OCRP2_Version reports 7 then it is updated.

OCRP2 was updated with a bug-fix while the forums were offline. This fix includes the following:

Fixed chat being completely broken
Changed hints and hud grammar and spelling
Updated GodStick to include a map restart command for SA's
Knives now cut zip-ties when right clicking on a player with a knife. Requires strength level 1.
Updated handcuffs and zip-ties to use RP names in hints
Police shotgun exploit fixed
Added blacklist system and created blacklist plugins
Added a limit to scratch cards to prevent economy destruction
Added ability for SA+ to use observer in place of noclip. Use ocrp2_observer_toggle in console to switch between the modes.

The version has been increased to 6.1 and the update has already been applied to the servers.

using /request prints to /radio. gives error if not a job with a radio

Accepted Suggestions / Add a delay on switching radio channels

Due to the phantom stream issue, add a 3-5 second delay between switching channels. This allows the old channel to fully bind and be removed on switch.

This could be considered a bug report as well. But meh.

I have been working on a few backend things for the forums, mostly for the OCRP2 release. The entire point system that the forums have used was recoded to be more optimized, and have a lesser chance of failure.

In addition, from the time of this post, all OCRP bans now record the admin's steam ID to link the ban to the admin in a more efficient manner. On your profile, if banned, it will say the normal "Banned for xx longer by <name> (Reason)" but the name will be a link to the admins profile.

These are the major updates for the forums, there have been a few optimizations of various scripts that run in the background.

We are taking advantage of the downtime and will be doing a major overhaul of the CCA.

The details are currently being worked on, but per Kronic we will be doing a full CCA reset.

What does this mean?
- Everyone below the rank of CmD (That means 05-DvL) will be reset to a rank of 05.
- Recruits will stay recruits.
- Anyone with a blackmark (IC or OOC) will be subject to a probation period of no less than a week before being considered for promotion
- Divisions will be reformatted to better portray their specialtys and promote their RP. The training will also be updated

During this time the following is in effect:
- RTLK is in charge of UNIFORM/NOVA
- KillMePlz is in charge of APEX/ZEALOT
- Challenge is in charge of GRID


The details are still being worked out, but this will happen. Kronic brought it up to me ages ago and we are nearing the release so we are working out the fine details.

For coast guard I added a confiscator. You can confiscate smuggled packages. Please dont abuse it.
EDIT: Swep was changed to an actual code. Pressing on a package as CG when not in Red Harbor will confiscate it. ~Tomasas

Will apply on restart.

Clockwork seems to be getting into it's final stages of release. While we do not have any estimated time on when it will be released, it is close enough to where I feel like we are ready to begin certain things such as this post.

So, without further ado, let's get ready! This post will explain the changes that I have been working on, as well as provide you information on things such as the addons you should subscribe to for the best transition into the new server.

For the best transition into the new server, we recommend the following workshop addons:

Weight Stool

All the above addons can be found in the Catalyst Gaming HL2RP collection. Any addon with a * is required to properly see the majority of the playermodels. The Gordon Freeman model is not required, but recommended as it is the admin model.

Along with this we are releasing a new bugtracking for HL2RP. You can report bugs (and only bugs) to http://bugs.hl2rp.co (site requires registration.) Use of the bug tracking system should only be for bugs, not lost item reports. You can find more information in the bug report section of HL2RP's boards <insert link>



Important Information

  • Characters are currently not transferred.
  • There is a chance characters may not transfer. I am looking into every solution.
  • Our custom factions are currently gone. I will be recoding these soon, but for the time being we only have the CCA, OTA, and Citizens. - They have been recoded!
  • Because of the switch, certain things may not work the same. Just know that before asking why x doesn't work, especially if it was a custom creation for CG.


Major Changes

CCA Model Changes: (utilizing the Metropolice NPC pack)
  • Sector Commander: models/phoenix_police.mdl
  • Commander: models/blacop.mdl
  • Division Leader: models/leet_police2.mdl (updated from old version)
  • Officer: models/biopolice.mdl (without the gear on the back of course)
  • Training Officer: models/hl2beta_police.mdl
  • Elite Unit: models/c08cop.mdl
  • NOVA: models/civil_medic.mdl
  • GRID: models/steampunk_police.mdl (without the tophat)
  • APEX/ZEALOT: models/urban_police.mdl
  • UNIFORM-05: models/hl2concept.mdl
  • Recruit: models/hdpolice.mdl
Faction Changes
  • The CCA are no longer the Metropolice Force as a faction. The new faction name is Civil Authority.
  • The Civil Administrators are no longer the Administrator faction. The new faction name is Civil Administration.
  • The CWU is no longer "Civil Worker's Union", it is now simply "Civil Workers Union"
  • Vortigaunt Slaves are no longer the Vortigaunt Slave faction. The new faction name is Biotic Slave
  • The Server Administration faction has been added for admins for their admin characters.
  • The Paradine Industries faction has been added. This is a second loyalist group to compete against the CWU
  • The Universal Union faction has been added to quit using the Overwatch faction for the CmD and SeC
  • The Civil Representatives faction has been added. This is a Union ran group based in providing information and promotion Union propaganda to the masses. They also deal with the loyalist groups on a day to day level.
Script Changes
  • New items have been added.
  • Hopefully Outlands is precoded to have the character blacklisting.
  • A few new admin commands have been added to take advantage of the new map.
Administration Changes
  • While these will not be discussed publicly, know that there have been major changes in the way the entire HL2RP administration system is being ran.

I just pushed and set live a small bugfix for HRP. Mostly backend admin stuff, but heres the changelog:

Fixed RP Name not working
Fixed Admin Disguise
Added RP Name change warning to admins
- Unknown if it does it for new players or just changes.
Fixed admins entering vehicles while noclipped and staying invisible (they now return to color)

News and Announcements / Today's the day! Garry's Mod 13 Release

As most of you know, in roughly 4 hours from this post Garry will push Garry's Mod 13 to Valve. If you haven't already, I suggest reading the news post as it gives information as to what will happen.

What does this mean for Catalyst Gaming? In short, the servers will go down until we have converted the gamemodes.  More details follow:

Half Life 2 Roleplay: The servers (both outlands and city) will be down for an indeterminable amount of time. We have to wait for CloudSixteen to release Clockwork and then as soon as that is done, we will do our best to bring it online as soon as possible.  The minute I get the gamemode in my hand, I will evaluate them (as there will be 2, Clockwork Legacy which is a rewrite of OpenAura to work on GM13, and Clockwork with the HL2RP2 schema.) I will determine which one will be better for the community (most likely the newer HL2RP2) and get it working to where we have a server online.  NOTE: Characters may not transfer right away. I will do what I can do transfer them, but if they do not transfer on the server release, I will post a news thread about it.  Also, I will be working before I even get the gamemode to make sure the servers (both outlands and city) have all the content needed. This means HL2, Ep1+2, CSS, Portal, TF2, etc.

Harbor Roleplay: It's live at 64.31.14.198:27016

Orange Cosmos RP 2: Crap-Head is busy working on it as fast as he can, we are hoping for a mid-November release, but we cannot guarantee anything at this time as Crap-Head has to recode a lot that was lost in the hard drive crash.

Sandbox: Will go online as soon as addons are updated to GM13 supported versions.




I have just created a mailing list for those who want to receive emails regarding the process of the servers. I will not spam you, and I will be deleting the system as soon as we finish all servers being installed.  Emails will be sent for when servers finish coming online, as well as for status for HL2RP and other gamemodes if important.
