News and Announcements / Planned Maintenance [8/22]
« on: August 18, 2015, 04:21:43 PM »
Wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about a maintenance window spanning a couple days toward the end of this week.

All CG services will be down starting Saturday night at 11:00PM CST and will be down until, at the latest, Monday Morning at 6AM CST

During this time, the website may go in and out of availability and HRP will also be offline. No data or progress will be lost.

Now for those curious as to the reason, that's a little bit hard to explain. Some of you may recall back in May when the servers went down for a few hours. This was due to the loss of control of one of our back end servers which ran our site-to-site VPN and our primary database. Due to this loss, we had to migrate a few services and reconfigure some servers to get everything back online, and we've been working in this state ever since. This is primarily the reason some have noticed slow load times and problems with the forum as this web server we are hosting on was not made to handle this load.

This maintenance is also needed to facilitate our developers in working on our servers. We have stuff in the works so stay tuned.

Support & Help / Re: Server crash TTT Linux
« on: July 16, 2015, 11:28:02 PM »
Has something to do with the PID lock file not being found, obviously. I would try running the server as root (just as a test, don't run it this way publicly) and see if the problem happens. If it does, I would use steamcmd to validate the gmod install. Otherwise it may just be a permissions error.

I had started writing a script to detect cybering in HL2RP until the pop died. Was very disappointing. Reading this shit is where I get my kicks.

Bug Reports / Re: Quoting still doesn\'t work for me
« on: June 16, 2015, 12:08:53 AM »
I know, I have it on my list, but there are a lot more pressing issues at the moment and we don't have the money/time to devote to issues like this. Right now it's just amazing the website and game server are running. If we had any expendable revenue, we would fix these issues, but as most members are very much aware, we run month to month on donations and quite often Waffle has to foot the bill for our servers. This means that any downtime to fix an issue will almost guarantee that we won't break even that month.

I guess while I'm here I'll add a comment on a few things we're working on.

HRP2 has been sidelined in order to devote our available resources to getting CGRP to a presentable form. With the lack of funding our options to gain interest from other parties (read: developers), is slim. We have to work with our current set of staff, who generously work on a promise, which means a slow pace of development.

In regard to our current infrastructure issues, we had an attack on our back end server which hosted our centralized management, VPN, and Database. This was a major blow to the network and we are now running at a far limited capacity. To resolve these issues we would need at least 30 hours of downtime, and like I stated before, that would mean us not being able to make our quota for the month. However, until these repairs are made, we are stuck in a position where we can't continue development on many projects due to our limited flexibility.

All the problems stem from how HRP's player base is shrinking. We understand the instabilities with the server, however our primary goal at the moment is trying to gain interest in our future projects.

Lastly, I'll plug in here that if you're interested in aiding in any way, we appreciate donations of any kind. If you don't want credits and wish to donate other amounts, please contact the owner and he will work something out with you.
If you are a person who could assist with development, we are looking for Lua developers who could assist with either fixing existing problems with HRP or development on CGRP. If you're interested, please send me a message either on our forums or on Steam.

Thanks

Looking at our logs it seems there was an error in the IPN callback. I will need to confirm that the payment was properly received before providing you with your credits, this should not take long as I get in contact with Roflwaffle.

EDIT: Confirmed, credited 1000 to your account.

I know there are cheaper cases out there that look great, I enjoy the aesthetic of Level 10 Snow. The hot swap bays for drives will also be extremely useful to me in the future. Though if you do have suggestions, I'd be more than happy to take a look.

I'm not exactly good at hardware, I figured some of you might be.

A few notes:
I'm not watercooling
I'm not overclocking
As far as budget, <$1,800 is preferred.
