IC Character Name: Ray Farrel.
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.It was a quiet starry night. Ray Farrel sat in his seat, on the train bound for his new home. Around him, people cried, people whined. Ray simply fiddled with his blue loyalist armband. It was a gift, he thought. He had received it in City 12, his old life. City 45 was the new life, and he was ready for it. Ray started to drift off, into a restful sleep.
It was morning. Sunlight poured through the window to the left of him. He felt energetic, very energetic. For others, it was a new "zoo" in sorts. For him, it was a new opportunity, with new people and new places. The train door slid open, and outside was a lobby, a HUGE lobby, Ray was excited at the sights already, even the smallest things looked great to him. He walked outside the doors, ready for a new day, a new life. As he walked outside the trainstation, he saw a tall monument, this amazed him, he wasn't used to these things, City 12 was very small and cramped, not enough room for anything special except for the CCA base of operations. He decided to find some work and some housing, and so life began anew for Ray Farrel.
About a week after his arrival, Ray had been washing some windows in the Main Plaza, when some men had thrown something at him. He sadly sighed, as this was the way many loyalists were treated, in many different places, by regular civilians. It had been like this the whole time he'd been in City 12, and now here. Ray had had enough of the nonsense he had to put up with. He reported the men to the nearby officers, and that had been that. 2 days later, he was awarded a new loyalist armband, one that had City 45 scratched into it. He was proud, he realized this was where he belonged, not his small city life, yet, he wanted more, he wanted to join the CCA, so he wrote up an application, and is currently awaiting it's results. So there is the story of Ray Farrel, only a certain few can decide the story's track, but only one can lead it.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Ray Farrel is a very lawful and quiet man, he doesn't want any hostility around him, but he realizes that sometimes it's needed, and you can't change that fact. He likes to help the CCA, by doing work around the Plaza in City 45 such as cleaning windows and raking leaves.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.For me, I expect the CCA to be just the kind of roleplay for me, I like to be in power, to be above others, but not drunk with power. I also expect it to be rather grueling at the start, due to having to learn the ropes again. I really do look forward to this, should it be accepted, because as I said before, it really does seem like the kind of roleplay for a person such as me.
Now, for Ray. Ray most likely expects it to be such a bright thing, for him, it was a diamond among stone. As he was "bullied" by other citizens, as he progresses through ranks, should he be accepted, he may become aggressive to civilians, as if he has a small personal grudge against them all, sadly, this is how it may turn out for Ray.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Ray Farrel had been born on a crisp November day in a local hospital. Ray was a very average, quiet child growing up in a small neighborhood in Florida. He had very few friends, in all honesty, it was a very lonely early life. He spent most of it biking around his neighborhood, usually heading for his personal retreat. Here, he could get away from his troubles. You see, Ray had a tragic family life. He had an older brother, who hated his guts, his mother, who loved him fiercely, yet she had an alcohol problem. His father, who died in a car crash on the day after Ray's birth, never really got a chance to know his quiet, strange son. As he grew, his problems stopped. His older brother moved away, and his mother soon stopped her drinking, making the remainder of his life with her, pleasurable. He had above average grades in his school, hoping he could get into a fantastic college. And then he turned 26. He decided it was time to move away from his small neighborhood.
Perhaps a year after he turned 26, he was living in a small but impressive apartment, but he was worried. Why you may ask? There were these very strange storms, certainly not a thunderstorm, called portal storms. They were extremely large, and what from what he had seen and heard, they were extremely dangerous as well. Most people simply avoided them, even acting normal, as many people had grown accustomed to them. But then the war happened. Ray's older brother, Shaun Farrel had come to live with him for a while, as he had run into some financial trouble. It was an average morning, when the portal storms began to pick up. Many of us got worried, we had decided to get ready for a storm. A very big storm. But we soon realized. It wasn't just one. It was a huge amount. Possibly more than 100, and they were raging, raging around EVERYWHERE! People panicked, people stockpiled food, boarded up their windows, stuck together and got ready for the worst possible.
The war. The seven hour war, or so it's called. Those storms had released a huge armada, not even known, they were one thing, and it wasn't earthly. We saw soldiers, marching down the street, preparing for these huge contraptions, some flying, some standing. At this point, nobody knew what to do, Ray and Shaun simply sat, and watched the scene. They heard an explosion, a strange tap-tap-tap noise, and everything went black. Ray woke in a strangely clean apartment. He peered outside the window, and saw strange men, in white gas masks, and others in blue and grey camouflage. Was this it then? Had that strange armada taken over? There was only one way to know. Before heading out his apartment, he noticed he was in a dirty blue jumpsuit, with a blank tag on his chest. He saw others, dressed in similar clothing. And they weren't happy. At all. He saw some with blue armbands. He seemed to strangely want one. And then he woke, again. In the same apartment, he must have been reminiscing in his sleep. He sadly sighed, and went back to sleep, fiddling with the blue, City 12 loyalist armband.

They shun people like us, loyalists. It's not a fun life, and I'm sure many of the great men and women of the Combine Civil Authority have been through it. I would also like to join the Combine Civil Authority to protect the other good civilians of City 45. I'm sure it isn't an easy task, but I think that with proper training, I can be one of you, the people I look up to.
