1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Metropolice Force and what lead your character to do so.
Denarius Vulcan is a character with an over-whelming sense of pride. Though he may think he's smarter than he is, he generally thinks he's better than everyone else around him. He believes that he can conquer all, be it through mental or physical means. Because he thinks he's the brightest person on the block, he doesn't like to hold himself on the bottom of the political scale.

Denarius was raised to be more of an oddball type of person. Never getting along with people that were around him, determination always took over to bring him to his goals. A profound hate for others boils inside of him, unless such can prove that they're better than he is. Most of the units he sees on a daily basis, he doesn't believe are worth respecting. And so, he is determined to climb the ranks of the Combine Civil Authority.

And for the third and foremost reason, Denarius wishes to uphold his own political beliefs. The Combine Civil Authority's ideals match closely to his ideal form of Government. His thinking would follow something along the lines of, "Why would I serve underneath something that I could help rule?" Though it may not be entirely true about the Civil Authority, he would like nothing less than to be in a position where he could uphold his own thoughts.


2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)
Prideful - Denarius has an a personal overwhelming sense of pride. He likes to think he's better than everyone else, to show for it.

Determined - Raised on the docks of Edinburg, Scotland, Denarius would have to be determined to achieve his goals.

Greedy - Simply put, Denarius craves power and money; he was generally out for himself, and still is.

Anti-Social - Raised on the docks of Edinburg, Denarius would have been working from an early age. As problems fall upon him, he would eventually begin to dislike others, and thus not wish to have many friends.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.
I've played as a unit on Catalyst before, so I basically know what to expect. Yet, I hope that I'm wrong for the most part. Most of my time in Catalyst resulted being around units who did a simple, "/me salutes". I'd expect much more than that, this time around. And I would expect nothing less to be pushed to my role playing limits.

For my character, I would think that his life would change drastically. Having an understanding what it is ICly, but not -entirely- sure, I'm sure that Denarius may be in for a surprise. I expect for him to not fit in that well with others, yet struggle to advance with the other recruits.

4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
Denarius Vulcan sprawled to live in 1993, Edinburg, Scotland, as the fourth installment to his family.  However, his family fell apart after his birth, leaving the new-born up for adoption. Thus, Denarius was raised to a middle-class family in the same place of his birth, Edinburg, Scotland. For most of his youth, he worked underneath his father at the local docks after school. His father was one of the many people whom fished for a living, and Denarius was right at his heels to do so as well.

In the year 2002, Denarius' father's marriage began to crumble. Debts began to pile, and life seemed to turn upside down. In 2003, being only fifteen, his father and mother began to go through a lengthy divorce which would last until 2004; in this time period, Denarius would simply continue his job and drown out his emotions, remaining completely stoical. Once the divorce ended, his father had complete custody over the boy. Alongside that, his father began to drink and stop working as much as he use to, leaving Denarius to continue to work alone, in attempt to support the two-man family. However, despite everything Denarius would do to support his father and their life style, he was beat. His father was soon hospitalized due to a stroke. Denarius was informed that his father had very slim chances of surviving.

Many a lone nights Denarius spent at the hospital. He couldn't deny his love for his late-abusive father, however furious he may had been for his actions. Days and nights passed; and then so did his father. Denarius stayed stoical, sober, through the ordeal, but was emotionally damaged for some time. He worked without word for several more months until portal storms would begin to appear. Fear swelled inside of his body, but none would show, even if the man wanted it to. He felt almost inhuman.

Late 2006, extra-terrestrials  came from the swirling clouds. They invaded the city, and began to quell any resistance and anyone whom seemed harmful. Denarius retreated into his basement, blocked off the entries, and tuned a T.V to the news. He stayed quiet, without food or drink, for seven full hours until a broadcast of defeat spurred throughout the globe; one figure stood responsible it would seem, Wallace Breen. It made no matter, though. Denarius declined to live his life as some whelp if he could survive the in inevitable onslaught of his race. Once on the surface though, he was warded a surprise. The city was clamped off and survivors huddled into the man sections. Other-worldly begins took dead bodies from the streets, but did no harm to the remaining people.

At the end of 2006, to early 2007, beings in blue uniforms were dropped off at each city. They simply holed off areas, and stopped whatever crime which happened, all the while, they conscripted people into something known as the Metropolice Force. However, there was always the option of joining willingly. Denarius, despite being a stoical individual with a wall built around his mind, decided that it would be in his best interest to see how this plays out and not to join the army of men with alien technology. Midway through 2007, a train track was finally laid down at Edinburg, Scotland. A giant, blue, slick train rolled in, and each citizen was forced to board it. Miles, and miles, and miles went by, until they landed in Russia, or City Eighteen. Each citizen was given a plastic card by a member of the Metropolice Force, or now known as Combine Civil Authority. Each citizen was also given a matching blue City Eighteen jumpsuit.

Yeah, I had a Civil Authority character here the last time the HL2RP was up and running.

I, Denarius Vulcan, wish to join the Combine Civil Authority for a plethora of reasons. The Universal Union and I have the same views; as a child, I would discuss politics with others, up to even being a young adult. My ideals and thoughts match perfectly to those of which the Union hold. A government with an iron fist without a threat to collapse in on itself. Secondly, the Universal Union keep society civilized without as many freedoms as some wish they had. But I would say in response that freedom is a lie and would only create misfortune; the Combine counter this effectively. Finally, I mentioned that my ideals match with that of the Universal Union. Why would I only live by them, why I could enforce them as well?

Michael Oreishan's Civil Authority Application

1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.
Michael wants to be part of the CCA because ever since they invaded he has been not only fearful of the power they posses, but also awe of the incredible technology they have. He is always looking at the transparent barricades and the hard points, wondering how they are made and how they work and He also thinks that the CCA is incomprehensibly intelligent and organized, two of the things lacking in what he used to call home. He loves the history of the union, he finds it so rich and wants nothing more than to be a part of it, ever since he was a boy hes been fascinated with history and mechanics, so when the union came along it gave him more to study and fall in love with. He never saw the union as an evil force to be feared, but a beautiful force to be embraced, and for this reason hes always striven to be among their ranks.

Michael sees the big picture, he looks past the Unions outer harshness. He realizes that earth was engulfed by war, hate, lies, and crime and the Union is the one who stopped it. Under control of the Union crime has nearly vanished, apart from the slums where Michael has never been brave enough to go. He truly believes that the Union has saved the Earth from the destructive force of mankind, by means of war, they have ended war, by means of cruelty they have ended cruelty, this is how Michael lives his life, believing the things that nobody else wants to see.

After being placed in city forty five Michael realized it was more organized than any city on earth. He was in awe at how advanced it was, how clean it was, how pure it was. His first thought after being placed here was: This is true peace. The only way it can be. After that moment he wanted to be part of the CCA. He has been trying ever since the moment he stepped off the train into the city, he finally has his chance and would do anything to secure his place among the Combine. The union is his dream, City forty five his home, and the combine his opportunity.

OOC: I was a CP on another serious server and i have experience with knowing how demanding and strict the Combine are, i know that if you disrespect your SeC he will break your ribs and snap your arm. No joking around, you gotta be the best role player's on the server.

IC: My character, Michael, understands that in the Civil Protection force you must listen, follow orders to the letter, and keep in line. If someone is ahead of you there is no such thing as why? or when? he knows he will have to do what they say when they say it. In knowing that he wants to prove himself to the superior combine and show that he loves the union as they do. He believes he has as much to offer as the Union has to give.

Michael Oreishan was born on May 21'st 1974 on a particularly warm day in Sligo in the far north of Ireland. He hated it there throughout his childhood. He was raised mostly by his nanny, Margaret, because his mother was sick and his father left when he was three. When he was in school he didn't have many friends because he never bothered to make any, he was always buried in one of his books. He avoided any violence in school until he was fifteen. Some boys started pushing him around in the hallways between classes, taking his things, ripping his clothes, Without realizing it he clenched his fist and turned, connecting with one of the boys jaws. When he got old enough he moved away from Sligo, saying goodbye to his mother and nanny, not knowing he wouldn't see them again. He left for a place called Wicklow, Just south of Dublin, he was twenty when he made it there. He chose Wicklow because his uncle Samuel lived there, when he was a child his uncle was his best friend so this was the ideal place for him. He graduated college in Wicklow when he was twenty five and he got a job working in a local movie theater. He lived in Wicklow moving job to job for years, until the war. When the combine invaded he was shipped to city forty five and stood in awe at the massive force. He missed his uncle and family but knew it was for the best. He then began his life as a citizen living under the Combine.

On catalyst gaming I had a rebel named Lewelyn Price, Within my first few days I found a loyalist in the slums holding a ton of contraband but some men were trying to rob him of it, I beat the men up and helped the loyalist out. But the men soon came back with greater numbers. We went inside the building and hid but the men broke in and killed the loyalist. I got beaten down badly but i lived, and a doctor came and took me a dark room in a hotel and fixed me. From there I joined a resistance but the day after the resistance was destroyed. So I founded my own and it grew to a substantial number of people.

1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority andwhat lead your character to do so.
    Allen Lionskie walked into city 45. Like all the others, he was scared and confused. He tried to act like the others, walk around, and ask for jobs, try to make some friends, and collect rations.

    After some years passed, his friends ventured into D6, and came back a rebel. He followed them, letting them talk, and do the work. He noticed, that they have not even made a dent on their lives. But he kept following all of his ignorant friends.

    After some more time had passed, most of his friends had been killed from the combine. So Allen decided he would join the combine, instead of fight it. He figured, if he became a combine, and helped society, then maybe harsh punishments wont need to be done as much, as the combine do not need to wonder who is a rebel, he thought he could end it all.

   He worked for the combine for some time, earning loyalist points. He would tell them every detail, every name. Eventually, he earned his five loyalist points, and decided to apply.

Allen Lionskie is a very honest man. He proved to be lawful, and trustworthy to civilians, but not to the rebels he would find.

   I think being in the CCA for me will be like starting a brand new server. I would feel like I had to re-learn the ropes, and feel as useless as I did when I first started.

    For Allen, Allen would expect it to be a wonderful thing. He has tried to stop people from doing crimes, while rarely anyone ever listened. Now, he thinks he can make a real change. But if ignorance follows, Allen might turn aggressive towards the civilian. Thankfully, this may be how it will turn out for Allen.

4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
   Allen Lionskie was born on October 15th, on a cool and windy day in a local hospital. He grew up in a small neighbor hood, where mostly everyone was friends. He was drove to school by his dad everyday, where kids of another town also attended. There, he was bullied by several kids, and usually sat alone during lunch. He would be in relief everyday when his mom picked him up. And his day would just repeat itself over and over.

   Around four years sense Allen had his eighteenth birthday, these storms started to happen. He figured, these are no normal thunderstorms, these are portal storms. they were extremely large, and they seemed dangerous from what he had heard. He blended in with the crowd, ignoring them. Eventually he became accustom to them. They seemed to not bother him at all. But then the war came. His mother and father came to live with him afterwards in his small apartment, they wanted to make sure he would stay safe. One day, the portal storms became more frequent, and more than one started to rage around everywhere. People boarded up their windows and their doors, hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
 
   The war, the seven hour war. Allen and his family noticed soldiers marching down the street, through a crack in his boarded up window. He heard frequent shots. Him and his family simply laid back, and waited for it to end. After all of the noise, it simply went silent. After some time of him waiting, he peered back out. He saw very odd people in white gas-masks.. He did not know what they were, or where they had came from, but, he guessed, from the seven hour war. All of the citizens outside wore blue jumpsuits, and eventually, so did he. He spent his day sitting and walking around, to scared to talk to one of the odd people, now known as combines. Finally, when it came time, he crawled into bed and fell asleep, waiting for it to all happen again.

My most memorable RP experience was on my first ever RP server. Me and the other combines (cops) heard of drugs and other banned items inside of someones house. We came in a group, and blew down the door. It turned into an all out firefight. Our side lost, but it was the best time I had.
