Suggestions / Ration Tests
« on: April 01, 2014, 10:02:37 PM »
So we all know there's muscular citizens, overweight citizens, and just non-malnourished citizens. The idea is to add some sort of chemical to the rations which will stay in the system for X amount of days/hours. If a unit sees a citizen who is overweight or muscular or just clearly NOT malnourished, they are to do a test (or call a nova unit to do it, opinions on this). It could be a pee test or blood test, whichever is fine. Perhaps even if they get a sample of the skin that would work, but it's all up for debate. Now, if this chemical is not found in the system, then the citizen would be charged with possesion of contraband food. If the chemical is found, then it would be assumed that they are eating rations and they are free to go. The whole purpose of this is so that units can do something against these "muscular" and "overweight" citizens because it's IMPOSSIBLE to be overweight or muscular just from eating rations.

N/A

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Mainly they will give me the ability to sit down on.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Spawn chairs, sit on them, live life. This isn't that much of an authorization, and for the fact that i'd like to be able to move the chair props aswell. It gets annoying if i'm setting up a shop then having the weld every chair to the ground hoping it won't spaz out and kill half of the people inside.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No, aside for being a flag for all my characters. No other player will need it.

Extra Notes (optional): Only reason I changed the IC Character part is mainly due to the fact that this is for more than one character, and I can't really give an IC explaination about how my character is suddenly ICly able to lift chairs with a large metal device that shoots a blue beam. I know I can be trusted with these flags, i've been with CG for quite a while. If I can be trusted with a DvL that can spawn shotguns, AR2's, and everything of the sort i'm sure I can be trusted with chairs.

Suggestions / Applications for IC Weapons
« on: March 29, 2014, 10:49:13 PM »
(Possible drama alert.)

I felt the need to make this thread due to the fact that IC makeshift weapons are being abused a lot. Not so much as abused just they are way to common, and nearly everyone has a perfect knife out of nowhere. Not to mention I feel this is a lead to mass mugging in the server aswell. I'm not saying units shouldn't be mugged, or we should have a rule agaisnt it i'm saying it's become way too common. Thus due to the IC weapons with no apps pretty much any citizen  could mug a unit if they wanted to. I look at this from an IC prespective, and by now i'm sure there would have been a ton of judgement waviers because we've had atleast 8+ pistols in the city,  and well more than attempted/sucessfull muggings. Not to mention that this is only one wee sector in a massive city. What we have combined plus all of Kiev i'm suprised the whole city hasn't been leveled by shells yet. It's just way too out of hand because we have a unit killed almost every day now. I understand resistance RP is important, but most of these muggings arn't even from expirenced roleplayers they are from the new DarkRP players who just want a gun. If we did allow IC Weapons again this would atleast lower the chances of anyone/everyone pulling a screwdriver out of their ass. It's not like we have to make the applications super hard either.

Seriously. The current UU food that can be sold is only soda cans. Some doughnuts, and stuff like that would be nice.

Suggestions / Less Income
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:04:25 PM »
So, I woke up today with the idea that what if there was less of an income to players in HL2RP. This would go for gold members, CCA units, CWU Units, and the idea of an income would act like a paycheck. So every week per say a income of 120 tokens would be issued out to every unit (OOC Time.) Now I know what your thinking about how it's a stupid idea. Hear me out here, the idea being is that lower ranked CCA Units, CWU, Gold Member Citizens all get this massive income from "somewhere." If there was less of an income it would create a sorta interesting game play. What with a lack of money certain CWU, or even CCA units could take bribes. Unlike before where a unit would have 23,000 Tokens, and a new citizen would have about 10.

If this went well we could even introduce a minor set of rent from the CWU. Every so often with a large player base the CWU would go door to door asking for the rent payment. I only suggest this because last time every person basically had enough tokens to asspull a castle of tokens. Would be nice to see less of them, and more of a troubling situation for the citizens in a financial way. Just a thought, I think it would be a interesting idea. How it would be done i'm not a 100% sure, but it can always be worked out.

Eye Glasses

The day awoke with the sun about to come up. Spencer was face down in a cold cell that was once a police station. He opened his eyes moaning a bit, wipping his hand across it face smearing cold dirt across it by mistake. Spencer got the feel of being awake, and sat up. He leaned himself up to a nearby wall noticing his left arm wrapped poorly with some bandages. The bandages seemed a bit bloody, and his arm was sore. Spencer looked around the room seeing it was grey, dull, and the lights had a yellow color to them. He pushed himself up into a standing position. He rubbed the back of his head looking around the room. Soft sobs in the distance could be heard from the rooms away. Spencer walked up to the cell doors wrapping his hands around them. He pressed his face up against the door looking out as all he saw was a long narrow hallway off to his left, and to his right was a single door. He opened his mouth as he began to speak with a dry, and crusty voice "H-hello?" With no answer he turned back around, and continued to look around the room. He looked over to a small table set in the corner. He walked up to it noticing his old glasses set down on the table. He rubbed his eyes once more with the blue shirt he was wearing, and put his glasses on. He blinked as everything seemed much more clear until he thought about what he had just done. He never put on blue clothing this morning, so what was he wearing? Spencer looked down to see himself wearing a slightly big, blue shirt with a white label on the edge which happened to be blank. His pants also happened to be blue, though his shoes seemed like brown dress shoes but of a cheaper quality. His attention turned to the hallway hearing a door creaking open with the sound of boots, and heavy equipment shuffling. He walked up to the door looking down the hallway. A human figure dressed in heavy kevlar, a gas mask, and a stun stick attached to his belt was walking down the hall. He raised an eyebrow with his heart pumping, and worried of what the thing was or where he even was. The unit stepped in-front of his cell looking him up, and down until his vocoder crackled alive saying "Your awake.." as his helmet emitted another beep as he spoke "216, I got another one here for you. I'll move him to the label room for you." The unit reached down to his belt grabbing some keys, and unlocked the door pulling it open motioning for Spencer to follow him. Spencer stepped out of the cell following the unit to a small room which was well light, and seemed like a clean environment. The unit stood back as a second one entered. The door slammed shut with the second unit bearing a red cross armband said "Alrighty, alrighty take your shirt off, and let me get to work." Spencer's eyes widened at the odd request. As the unit was armed with a pistol he would figure he should follow. He took his shirt off handing it over to the unit. The unit snatched it from his hands putting it on the table. The unit began to speak as he walked up to a small computer beginning to type into it "Name?" Spencer began to speak as he replied "Spencer Yancy.." The unit nodded twice before he typed it away at the computer. Within second the computer had entered his name in a profile format. The unit turned around pointing to a measuring meter along the wall saying "Stand against that." Spencer nodded walking  to the scale, and the unit typed in his height. The unit spoke once more "Medical conditions....sight problem I presume." Spencer nodded as the unit continued talking "Thats it." The unit slammed on the keyboard with another window popping up on the large screen. On the screen read out certain digits. The unit turned to a machine which began to print out a small card. The card stopped half way. The unit pointed to the wall again "Face it, I want a front face photo, no emotion." Spencer nodded, and he walked over to the wall. A small metallic arm retracted down from the ceiling as it snapped a picture of him. Spencer rubbed his eyes hearing the machine printing out the rest of the card. The unit pulled the card out, handing it to him as he said "Don't lose this." Spencer grabbed the card looking down to it. On the card was a picture of him, five digit number, and his name with the label of Citizen underneath. He looked back up to the unit. He slammed a large hammer down on the shirt. The unit turned around tossing the shirt to the citizen saying "Put that on." Spencer continued to put the shirt on sliding the card into his pocket. The unit reached down to his stun baton. The unit pulled off the baton, and walked to the door saying "Follow me." Spencer began to follow the unit as they reached a large office with two other men dressed in the same clothing as him being interviewed by another unit. The unit who he was following pushed the door open with his foot. Spencer walked out first, the unit coughed with an annoyed tone. Spencer looked around the city as it was modified. He turned around to the unit which was now closing the door, and locking it. Spencer balled his hands up into a fist, shoving them into his pocket looking around the city. He began to wonder what the hell is he suppose to do. Stranded, no food, water, supplies, military like things. The last thing he could remember is sitting at home, and everything went black. He thought it could possibly be related to the recent portals opening up around the earth before hand. He scratched his chin looking around to a big sign which said "CITY 17, It's Safer Here."

Computer Hacking

Spencer sat down at a small bench with his friend. Both of them on their phones trying to find a decent wifi around the area. Most places had them set private, or for customers only. Spencer grunted as he said in an annoyed voice "No damn wifi around here. Seriously whats with these shops? It isn't gold!" His friend raised a brow looking back up to Spencer, smirking with an idea growing in his head. His friend began to speak "Do you think it would be possible to....ya know guess that password to get in? Sorta like hacking." Spencer looked back to his friend wondering. Spencer replied "I don't know...worth a shot I guess?" Spencer looked back to his phone. He looked at a near by store which had their wifi named as Javier Cafe. Spencer began to tap multiple guesses into his phone. Cafe Javier, CJ, JC, Cafe, Javier, and also tried some of their menu prices. After about thirty minutes he shrugged as he typed in the last thing he would expect "efaC reivaJ" the wifi began to connect to the system. Within minutes it gave a good signal, and Spencer had gained access to the cafe's wifi. He perked up saying " I got it! efaC reivaJ." His friend had a smug look as he said "You didn't get it..." His friend typed in the password to be sure. With the password typed in it began to log him in too. His eyes widened saying "Shit...you did get it." Spencer looked back down to his phone, selecting the next wifi saying "Time for the next one." He smirked.

Within the small amount of time that passed Spencer had graduated from high school, mostly with B's. Most courses he took relatedaround computer graphics design, code, and typing. He had continued working some small hacking software, and at points working around with his own programs. Though his own software didn't do much as it was plain, and simple. In time he had reached university which his parents gladly payed for most of it. The first year at University seemed easy because it was simple taking notes, and the occasional testing . His room mates had nearly no desire for what he loved to do. Though with luck Spencer was able to sell some of his software to a few people for a good amount of cash. With the extra cash he was able to afford a small laptop that was cheap, and was nearly broken down. As practice he would get his roommate to set up fake accounts, and programs for him to pass for fun. Spencer found it fun, and easy because it was just about trying to figure out the right code. Getting better at the hacking each time he eventually figured out better ways of getting in, and how to use it properly. Days would pass as he would try, and stay away from high end stuff. Time passed as Spencer would use his hacking knowledge for good. People within the university would get their computers locked, or even a password they lost by mistake, and Spencer charged a good 15 bucks to get it unlocked which seemed like a decent price for their expensive computer back. Within the short time that had passed which happened to be about four years, Spencer dropped out to resume his software making business. Years passed, and Spencer had continued building small software. Some programs related to hacking he never sold, or used them. Most of the softwares recovered lost accounts, and stolen items. The script sold for 5 bucks a piece as it was bought regularly. Spencer spent his time that wasn't spent working on software, he spent working at a local Cafe. The Cafe was small, but it was good enough to work at. Spencer, and his room mate still did the regular practices on the accounts to not get rusty on hacking. Everything seemed to be going well with the online business, and the job.

Support & Help / Pink Vortigaunts
« on: April 11, 2013, 07:16:27 PM »
So, I've had this problem for a long time though I've never found a solution to fixing it. Whenever I see a vortigaunt in Garry's Mod I find that the vortigaunt is a bright, bright pink. This has to be a lighting error as if I move the model/character into the shadows that have been creates by the map it goes back to normal. I'm sure this is a lighting issue, and it's a problem that happens to me in every server. Anyone know how to fix it? It's a pain to see a bright pink vortigaunt hiding behind a dark green bush in Outlands. Gives away a sense of realism.

A cold, misty, and dark night came over the mountains of Romania. One klick away from broken down motel is an Over Watch FOB set up in a small church, overlooking the town. As the night became steady the doors of the church creaked open, two OTA units stormed in as they walked over to a large machine mounted into the side of the wall. The machine was large, and it was full of empty head crab canisters. Beside it was a large tube that could fit a water melon. Below the tube was a surgical table leading to the loading mechanism of a head crab canister. One of the units walked up to the table leaning over, and waving his hand over a bio lock as the lights turned green. The machine came to life with it's insides running. The second OTA unit walked over to a window where a small binocular station had been set up. The unit adjusted the binoculars as a small beep came from the machine. The unit standing at the table pressed a small button on the table followed by a thud. Uh human squealing was heard from the tube, and a head crab fell from it onto the table. The unit quickly grabbed it, and began to study it. The head crab attempted to run, however the unit held it in place. The unit studied the head crab quickly before talking five paces to the left. The unit pushed the head crab into the canister. He then walked back over to the table as he continued to load the head crabs in.  The OTA unit hit the button below as a head crab dropped down tagged on the leg of 72729. The head crab squealed. Quickly the unit grabbed it checking over, before he stuffed it into the machine. The unit finally got to the last one, before pressing down on the button. The machine made two beeps, and flashed green lights as it did. All the head crabs had been loaded inside, the unit moved over to a small control panel off to the side speaking from his vocoder. "Coordinates of canister land site?" The unit looking through the binoculars began to read out the two coordinates. "F61…K19" The unit at the panel entered in the coordinates as a loud clank was heard. The shell locked into place ready to fire. The machine-made four beeps as the head crabs inside began to squeal, and with 727 near the top being squished by the other head crabs inside. The canister then gave off a loud boom as the shell went hurling up into the air. The  head crabs inside panicked unsure of what to do, and attempted to run though all they did was dig into the head crab below. The shell reached the right height, and it began to go directly down aiming for the motel. The dim, dusty lights in the motel began to flicker on as the citizens inside easily heard the loud explosion of the metal shell being fired. Within seconds the canister holding 727 aimed directly at the motel it slams into the roof going right though the second floor, and landing on the first with a loud thud as smoke fly's around the room. Screams would be heard as the canister gives two quick beeps as the three retractable arms of the canister spread open. The head crab above 727 saw the dim light above quickly climbing out as the room was full of three to four kids no older than twelve. The head crab saw one of the kids, so he backed his legs into the canister making a screeching noise as it jumped towards one of the kids. The rest of the kids screamed, running into the nearby bathroom shutting the old wooden door. The head crab that had jumped first landed on top of the kid's head. The child did not offer much resistance with the head crab began releasing toxins into the brain taking control over it slowly.

Not soon after the crash 727 crawled out of the steaming canister jumping down to the floor as the sound of footsteps could be heard running towards the door. Two more head crabs jumped out of the canister. Shortly after as both head crabs made their way to the bathroom door scratching on it with their legs trying to get in. Silent sobs could be heard from inside the room as the door was kicked open a teenage boy armed with a cold glock ran into the room yelling "Lucy?!" the boy froze in fear as he saw the head crab canister had blown into the room. He then took notice of the head crab climbing out. The teenager took aim towards the creature firing off three shots. The head crab fell to the floor, and was hardly alive giving out a small squeak before 727 made a quick lunge at the teenager while he was distracted. As 727 grabbed onto the boy's head, 727 released the toxins into the skull slowly. The boy panicked holding down the trigger as he fired off multiple shots into the room attempting to defend himself. As ten shots flew through the room, ripping into the wall the kids in the bathroom screamed as another loud bang was heard followed by gun fire. Within seconds another canister had landed just outside in a dried up old pool which was overgrown slightly. One of the kids panicked, they pushed open the door squashing a head crab against the wall. The head crab beside the door took a jump at the child only wrapping itself around the leg of the kid. The kid yelled as the girl fell to the floor completely unsure of what to do. The rest of the kids ran out of the door only worried about them. The cold head crab on the child's leg took a jump at the head as the head crab dug into the kids head, and within seconds after the first head crab who had gained control over a child was raised. A new host for the head crab. Soon after 727 rose with the teenager's body, and began shambling over to the door. With a child just closing the door, and locking it. 727 swung it's arm as it bashed on the door attempting to break it down in the slightest attempt.

In the small, musty room the door had nearly been broken apart, and with the third zombie rising slowly walking over to the door as well. With the two other dead head crabs inside, the door was bashed down as the outside revealed the second canister lodged into the pool with broken tiles around it. The head crabs had just took control of four other adults. What was left of the humans wasn't much as the nearby garage opened. Two beams of light struck out from the door followed by a large pickup truck driving out. The back was filled with food mostly of oranges, and there wouldn't be room for many other people. The zombies began to shamble towards the truck, two families quickly ran out of their room. Both of the families had guns as a man holding the back of the truck yelled "We can only have five people one of you has to go on foot!" The three humans armed with guns began to take aim through he cold iron sights at the zombie. The shambling dead zombies began to take fire. What remained of the kids got on board the truck as a man aimed towards 727's host body. The man pulled down the trigger on his MP7, watching the body get blown to pieces. 727 ejected from the host landing near the front of the truck. 727 turned around as one of the zombies swung towards the father armed with the MP7. The father got slashed across the knee cap falling down with two zombies from the room jumped on top of him beginning to beat him to his death. The man screamed when 727 jumped on top of the truck with 727 sliding to the back. 727 landed in an empty laundry basket as a kid sitting right next to it screamed "Crabby thing!" as the man holding onto the back turned around, and saw 727 falling into the basket. With the man unarmed he reached over to the basket flipping it over with 727 inside. The basket slammed to the floor of the truck 727 with it. Trapped under, the man yelled "Kids keep your feet on that basket don't let go!" The kids lifted up their feet a the basket putting pressure onto the basket holding it down. 727 squealed when he was completely trapped watching three more members grab onto the truck, and climbed in. The truck drove away, and what was the rest of the family had been slaughtered by the zombies. Some of the humans which had been taken over as a host attempted to chase after the truck, but had no luck. The truck continued to drive into the day which was now dawn.

It was early in the morning, the bright, red, hot sun was hard to see. The truck continued to drive for hours with 727 trapped inside. The adults bickering about what to do with the head crab. The kids inside kept their hands on the basket, and some of them leaned over to look at the head crab studying it. The day was shining with the sun, and it was now morning. The truck made a sudden halt as 727 slid to the back of the basket squeaking as it hit the rough plastic. The man in the back yelled "Why have we stopped?" The driver yelled out from the front "There are mines up ahead...Combine from the looks of it." The man from the back grunted, climbing out of the car to find three Combine mines set on the road as he scratched his beard. The man scratching his beard, pondering of what to do. Traces of blue beams came from the hill-top above, and one beam went straight up to the drivers head the other to one of the children holding down the head crab. The man beside the truck looking up to the blue beam aiming at the man's head yelling "Snipers!" Though his voice was muffled with the two shots that came off. One went straight through the drivers skull falling on the truck's horn. The other shot going straight through the skull of the child, and the man beside the truck yelled "Everyone get the hell out!" The kids began running out with one of them almost tripping off the truck. The kid almost falling off the truck kicked over the basket while doing so. The group of four ran over to the rocks, and the blue tracer went in front of another child. Another shot was heard, and the child fell to his death sliding along the gravel. 727 felt in front of him as there was nothing more blocking him, so he jumped off the truck. The head crab turned around quickly facing the opposite direction of the humans. It ran off into a small, dark, and wet cave which happened to be near where the Combine snipers had been hiding. Within days of traveling 727 had found dead bodies, most of which from the Combine raid. The bodies provided good food as the head crab soon reached a valley by the name of Ineu. The little creature began running off into the forest of Ineu, and the place seemed peaceful, and calm.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
+ New character that is not human. Though playing vortigaunt is fun a create who doesn't have a big mental capacity would be fun to play as.
+ Having being attacked, and attacking when he first reached the motel he would be mostly hostile for a while.
+ Being a normal head crab the color of his skin would help him blend into the wilderness.

Defects
- Wouldn't take much to kill the character.
-  Being hostile citizens could take it as a threat, killing the head crab.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
With the perks, and defects I plan to basically wing it. In basic terms I plan to try, and hunt for food maybe even possibly get in trouble by attacking someone. I really have no plans for the character other than that I will make him mostly hostile at first, and see where the story takes him.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
Nope, just me.

Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.
As Stan Petre grew up in a relativity small home with one brother, and sister. His parents were most of the time poor, and he was the oldest one of his family aside from his mother and father. Being the oldest his parents treated him well in hopes that he could possibly have a better life than his parents had. His father worked in a small office making most of the families income. His mother also worked though it was part time she did not bring in a lot of income though the extra money helped. As Stan grew older in his life he excelled in certain subjects. Subjects such as math, science, and PE he did well in, unlike the other classes such as art. He usually got good grades in his classes averaging higher than C+ in most classes. In about grade five he met another boy named Costel Dan. The two began to become good friends as they found the others in the class annoying, or just didn't seem to care for them. Costel, and Stan would normally go outside at recess chasing each other regarding the game known as cops, and robbers. For the first month as they played it would usually be just Stan, and his friend though after that other kids would join in. His social life was relativity good, and his classes went well. Though his parents not making a lot of money they saved up for him to go to collage, and hopefully get a good job. Though Stan had no real plans for his career later on in his life it wasn't much of a concern. As his life continued Costel, and Stan remained as good friends up until they finally finished elementary, and went onto high school.

As a large big concrete building stood before a large bus the door cracked open. Kids began flooding out of the bus that was stopped at the parking lot letting kids flood out as Stan got pushed out the door way almost falling to his feet. He ran ahead a bit to avoid getting hit by the stampede of kids. He stood there looking up at the school as it was much larger than his previous schools, and seemed a lot colder, dull, and life less. Soon after Costel ran up behind Stan saying "Some school right? It's huge!" Stan replied "Yeah, it's pretty big. Can only imagine whats inside." Costel nodded agreeing as the two boys walked inside to find the hallways stuffed full of people walking of all sizes. The lockers seemed very small, and could only fit about a backpack with books. For his time being at the school he gained a sense of what he wanted to be when he grew up. He hoped he could possibly get into being a police officer. They had respect, honor, and always seemed to be brave. Stan always had a good record in PE, and physical activity. He played a lot of sports, and was almost never inside. As Costel, and Stan slowly grew apart from each other normally having no time, or having a slight dis taste in each others personalities. Though they enjoyed each others company at times they never really got close. They made other friends, and students to hang out with. With Stan wanting to be a police officer, and having no real clue of what Costel wished to do he focused on his classes ensuring he got good grades.

The sun covered up by clouds this one morning, and it was pouring rain outside. Stan finally entered his collage drying his feet on the small mat at the door inside. He looked around the collage as people were about their business as he tried to remember what class to go to. He snapped his fingers together remembering where he had to go, and began to walk off to his criminology class. With his local police department they wanted at least two years of experiences in collage of criminology, or anything related to crimes. Stan has been doing good in his grades so far, and keeping up with the latest assignments. So far in his criminology class he has spent about three years into collage, and was planning to leave within a couple weeks as it was nearly summer. He stood true to his word, and still wanted to become a police officer. His professor was easy regarding work being that the average work would be sit in a class, take notes, watch a video on a crime, do a small test, then that would be it for the class. He found it to be very easy, and soon completed the course leaving after his third year of collage. Not soon after he was recruited into the police officer, and had to go through a required academy to see if he was fit to do so. He knew it would be lots of fun to shoot, and learn how to act as a real officer.

As the days passed by Stan was required to full fill a course that would occur over the time of about a month. Within the first week he usually did tests, and exams on protocols. What to do in what situation was easy to remember as most of them are very basic. Though during the second week was physical ability tests where he would learn to go over certain obstacles in case he was in need to chase someone down. He easily passed the part of physical tests, and the last week consisted of two things. One of which the drill instructor kept a secret, and the other one was fire arms training. As Stan, and his other team mates stood there at attention the instructor went over the use of a riot pump action shotgun being police standard for riots. Stan began loading six shells into the chamber as he pumped the shotgun taking aim at his target. The instructor yelled "Fire!" all shots of the shotgun went firing off going through the worn out car in the field. Stan lowered his shotgun smiling as he had never felt a rush like that before as he pumped the shotgun as the instructors orders continuing to fire. Later on they went through how to fire a small police standard pistol. As the week of fire arms training finished Stan walked into a room as a projector was shown. It was the last day of training, and all the tests were done. There was one final thing to do which the instructor kept a secret. As everyone was seated in the classroom the instructor walked up to the front of the room saying "Alright, well I'm very impressed with all of you. Your nearly complete, and will be official officers. Though i'm sure your all wondering what this secret of mine is? Well, in order for you to become cops you have to deal with situations that would be gruesome, and revolting to most of you. Which is why I have to tell you before you do so is that you will come into these situations, and I hope you can all handle them. Stan gulped as he was never comfortable with this kind of thing. The projector at the front of the room began to run through images that Stan felt revolted, and almost sick to his stomach. As the pictures finally stopped Stan was completely frozen in place. Horrified by the pictures he just saw he knew he could easily not become a police officer. He would't last five minutes with it, so he decided to possibly get a different job before the instructor said something "If you were...revolted by these pictures i'd suggest your not police officer material....if you wish to leave now your training, and work will be taken into account for your next jobs. You may sign the sheet on my desk saying that you are quitting. If you want to see a list of other jobs to do then there is a list outside." Not soon after Stan stood up while seven other students out of the 15 stood up as well signing their names off. Stan walked over to the board outside taking a look with a depressing sigh as his work there had ended. As much as he hated it he couldn't stand to see those pictures let alone see them in action. He studied the board as they listed off jobs, and applications. He came across a mall security job that caught his interest. He smiled a bit thinking it has everything like a police officer, but without the guns, and blood. Even if a gun is needed he knows how to shoot it. What could go wrong? Within months Stan had been accepted as a mall security officer in one of the large Romanian malls. The job was small, but it made a decent pay check as well as was near what he wanted to do in life. He was rather happy with his job, and remained in his job for three years until that one day came.

As the sun began to shine over the apartment complex in Romania on August 11th 2015 Stan opened the door of his car swinging it open as he stepped out with a small coffee. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, and gray jeans. Being August, and cold he was also wearing a small toque. He took a sip of his coffee tapping his fingers along the cup as he looked up across the large parking lot, and at the large mall before him. The parking lot wasn't very full being in the early morning, and most people were getting up, or still asleep by now. With the days rush soon to come Stan began to walk up to the door pushing them open walking his normal path he took to a small dark corner of a mall alley as the doors were metal unlike the other doors. He opened them up as he came to a white, and gray concrete room with pipes sticking out of the walls. The hallway smelt very dusty, and dull. As Stan reached the end of the hallway he reached down to his pocket pulling out a small card as he swiped it through a small slot as a green light was given off, and the door beside him unlocked. Stan pushed the door open closing it behind him as the door light turned red, and inside the room was full of computers, monitors, chairs, and three doors on opposite sides of the room. Two men in blue jackets labeled SECURITY on them were watching the monitors bored out of their life as Stan took a right opening the door. He looked into the break room as it seems more friendly, and welcoming. A leather couch had been set off to the side as he walked up to the lockers tapping his finger along each one until he reached his undoing the lock as he said quietly to himself trying to remember "20-5-29." The combination lock released it's grip on the locker door as it swung open as Stan reached inside grabbing a blue winter coat labeled in yellow security on the back. On the side of the sleeve had a crest of mall security on it. He slid the coat on slowly taking a deep breath as he reached back for his coffee taking another sip. He looked he thought of his toque to take it off or not. He decided not to as it was fairly cold outside shutting his locker door, and walking off back to the main room. As he entered the room he walked to a board listing all the duties of mall security, and who's job was who's today. He found his name listed near the bottom as it went alphabetical. Stan was on monitor watch today which seemed to be the most boring job. He sighed as he walks over to a set of 10 monitors all linked up to cameras along the west side of the mall. Three of the cameras covered the parking lot as the other seven covered a small food court. He took a seat, and leaned back on a hard, uncomfortable office chair tapping his fingers along his coffee taking sips every ten minutes watching the monitors as shoppers went about their own business. Stan leaned back into his chair sighing as he knew the day would be long, and boring.

As a few hours had passed into the job with Stan nearly asleep in his chair. The mall continued out it's normal act until the head security boss came stomping into the room from his office as he yelled "I want all the security members here now!" Stan shook as he hated the yelling, and grabbed onto his radio calling in "This is security officer Petre the boss is requesting all officers to the security room asap." Stan turned off his radio as he stood up asking the boss "Whats the trouble sir?" The boss had a serious look on his face as he said "Some shit is going down..REAL big shit not this average thing. SWAT, Police are coming when everyone gets here tell them to monitors all the cameras. When every citizen, officer, even the god damn military is inside I want you to do a full lock down!" Stan began to shake a bit panicking as he had no clue what was going on. All he knew is that when the boss was yelling about SWAT, maybe even military something big was up. He got back to his seat as he watched for the next twenty minutes as SWAT, Cops, and some military personal had the doors heavily guarded, and a officer at every corner. By this time all security officers where sitting at the monitors watching over. Each one shook slightly scared, and confused of the situation. Not soon after a loud smack was heard in the sky as the ground shook a bit, and soon after the mall became fully locked down. The doors guarded by metal, and the entire place was a huge fortress. Within ten minutes Stan heard gun shots go off, and he was shaking almost ready to cry under being scared. As he looked outside he saw four metallic robots with three legs, and a big body. His jaws dropped as he had no clue what to do, and yelled "Chief there is like...a robot outside?!" The four creatures began to shoot, ram, and attempt to destroy the malls west entrance though it was no luck. The military inside where taking cover, and civilians huddled into corners, stores where ever they could hide. Stan heard the chief yell "SHIT, ,SHIT" Stan looked around the room as one of the security officers was watching just outside the security door entrance as multiple citizens were huddled outside the door some crying, and some praying for life. One of the metallic creatures was just outside the outer entrance of the security room hallway as Stan stood up running to the window watching outside. The door was barricaded as he heard loud shots go off into the door as they began to shake a bit. The door began to get blown away as the shots exploded not soon after landing on their target. The metallic thing stuck two large knives through the part of where it could see.

As two knives stuck out all the citizens screamed as the chief came running through his office yelling "Everyone get the fuck out they have breached!" Stan pushed open the door hopefully not hitting anyone. At this time more flechttes exploded on the barricade completely blowing it apart as everyone stood up shaking with fear, frozen in place. The metallic thing got into a stance as it gave out a loud metallic roar firing off felchettes as it mowed down the citizens behind Stan. Stan was just a meter away from exiting the door as he ran into it. Opening the door up with a loud bang as he fell to the floor. Everyone looked towards him as twenty other citizens ran out of the door before two Romanian soldiers covered up the door with a large concrete block. The screams from the other side grew as they cried for help, and their fates sealed. The metallic beast continued the slaughter of the citizens the soldiers had trapped. Stan quickly ran to the other side of the mall walk way to a shoe store. A police officer bearing a mossberg 590 riot shotgun was crouched down. The officer looked young as if it was nearly his first day on the force. Stan said to the officer "What the hell is going on, and...what the hell are those things?" The officer turned to him keeping his shotgun pointed at the door "I don't have a clue, but all I know is that some big blue circle opened in the sky, and things started flooding out. Damn flying spiders, walking spiders, they all shoot weird ass shit...this is world wide!" Stan curled up into a small ball behind a concrete potted plant as he shook a bit, stunned by the recent events trying to pull himself together.

Stan had nearly pulled himself together. Loud thuds were heard on the roof top of the mall as everyone grew silent. Gun shots from outside, and screams didn't over power the loud stepping sounds above. Stan looked to the middle of the food court where the roof was a small glass done as he said to himself "Oh, shit." The glass came shattering down as a big beige like spider came crashing through it as it got into a low stance. It was facing towards Stan as he ducked down. Multiple citizens where at the main entrance banging on it trying to get out. Suddenly every officer, and military unit began opening fire on the strider. Most bullets bouncing off it the large robot began charging a small blue orb from the tip of it's gun as it gave off a loud blast going straight towards the main entrance. Ten citizens died as the beam blew apart the door sending shrapnel flying everywhere. Stan looked at the way out as citizens began running, and the metallic robot began firing off a small round aiming at people. Stan took cover as it blew a round straight into the concrete potted plant, and the dirt went flying. The next shot hit the officers head beside him. The man fell head as his head had a huge hole on it. His gun fell to the floor as Stan reached for it grabbing the gun beginning to run for the exit. Stan remained running as shots flew through the air keeping his head down. Citizens dropping, and military units taking most of the fire Stan reached the exit. As he ran outside he stopped for a second looking up. Drop ships flew through the air, and almost every building was flaming. The big portal in the sky was pulsing with energy constantly releasing new troops. Stan shook his head snapping out of it. He ran for his car parked near by him. His car wasn't damaged much. As he was running up to his he left his keys in the locker. He decided there was no time, and made a charge at the window aiming the end of the shotgun to it. As the shotgun slammed into the window the glass went flying as Stan reached inside unlocking the door getting in. He looked to his left where the strider stood up, and only it's body was visible. Stan reached into his pocket finding there where no keys, and looked inside the glove compartment where some keys lay. He put them into the car slamming on the gas peddle. He went driving off at full speed.

Stan didn't know where he was going, or what to do all he knew was he needed to get out of there as fast as he could. He drove out of the parking lot as hunters raided the street ripping people to bits with their bullets, and many on the streets dead. Stan thought as he drove off in a random direction decided he should go to the mountains. The place was less populated, and whatever was coming down would focus mainly on populated areas. After thirty minutes of insane driving he reached a long dirt road he took into the mountains. He reached the forest covered in big pine trees as he pulled way off to the side. As he was in the random depths of the forest he looked around for anything that may give away his position. His car nearly out of gas, and he parked behind a large hill over looking the town. He walks over to a tree picking off some branches as he threw them over the car attempting to camouflage it in any way possible. He ran up to the hill with the shotgun still in the passenger seat of his car. He reached the top of the hill covered in pine trees. Blow him was miles of farm land. Stan walked up to a near by tree as he put his back against it sliding down into a sitting position. He looked down on the city as most of it was in flames, destroyed, or being destroyed. Metallic robots flying everywhere, and gun shots in the distance. He sighed as he watched the events take place. He sighed depressed as he thought about his home, family, and friends. What would happen to them? He hoped they all survived, and he could possibly meet them again in the future. As he thought about it he got a brilliant idea. He said to himself "The radio!" as he stood up running full speed back to his car. He reached the drivers seat as he closed the door attaching his seat belt with him. He reached to the radio as he turned it to certain stations hoping to get any signs. Most of the stations were static, and some where left on to leave gun shots, and screams echoing on the radio. He finally came to the news station which was apparently being used as a fortress just like the mall. Though the news station had not been breached the news lady explained what she could about the events as Stan listened with full attention. He sighed as he turned the radio off as it went to static after thirty minutes. Stan turned on the engine as he began driving further into the forest. As he drove further, and further into it he heard less

As the day continued on Stan continued to drive through the mountains in hope of finding someone. Ever since the day that he was stuck in that mall he has not seen a single soul along the mountains. Though hearing the average gun shoot every now, and then he kept driving ignoring it. As he was driving down a long broken road he thought to himself of why didn't he just join the police force. Maybe he would have got out of that hell hole in better condition. Maybe he would have helped fight back, and actually make a difference. He didn't even know if the war was still going on. From what it looked like the portal in the sky was gone. He knew the small war was near done though he never took it into consideration who had won. As he continued to drive on he only hoped that humanity had pushed the alien creatures back. Ever since he  was a kid he imagined aliens being nice, and helping with humanities survival at least not slaughtering them by the thousands. As Stan reached a small downwards hill he looked up to the sky as it was getting dark. He decided he should hide somewhere, and camp out for the night. He took the road slowly until he found a small man made dug out cave. The small cave dug into a hole that was covered by bushes. He drove his car into the cave as it nearly fit as he looked around. There was still a decent enough space to move around, but he didn't feel comfortable to sleep outside. He got out, and walked outside the cave inspecting how well his car could be seen. As he decided it was hid enough he began to pick a few branches off the trees throwing them over the cave to create a small hide out. As he made his way back into the cave he covered it up with the last branch from inside the place was nearly pitch black. He made his way to his car climbing inside as he locked all the doors crawling to the back seat. He curled up into a fetal position putting the shotgun at the base of the seat. He closed his eyes hoping that this had all been a dream.

The sun began to shine over the mountains of Romania as Stan Petre opened his eyes in his car looking around. He sighed for the fact that this wasn't a dream, and it was very real. He picked up the shotgun on the floor tossing it to the passenger seat at the front, and climbed out to the drivers seat. He grabbed his keys from his pocket putting them into the ignition as he turned it. The car made no noise, and remained to not do a thing. Stan looked with a questionable face as he looked around the car. He turned the key once more to see if it would do anything. He tried again, and again though with no luck the car did not move. After ten minutes of turning he looked towards the gas meter, and it was empty. Stan sighed frustrated, and annoyed that he never thought about gas. He knew that he knew better than to forget about gas, so at his last resort he got out of his car walking over to branched kicking them to the floor. He pushed the branches along side the trees piling them up. Stan spent about five hours lifting, and moving rocks to cover up the cave that his car was in. He re made some of the hill, and covered it with branches. It looked though as if it was apart of nature, and took note of this. He wrote down the street name, location, car, rock points, and everything on a small note pad to remind himself to come back when he had gas. Though he knew he couldn't go back to the city his only hope was to find someone else who could help. He turned to the road beginning to walk down it to find help.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
- Marksman ship would help with aiming the shotgun giving better aim.
- Clothing would help keep him warm during the winter.
- Odessa Model would help people notice what he looks like from far away.
- The shotgun would help in self defense.

Defects
- The blue clothing would make him stick out in the green forest.
- The shotgun could possibly jam.
- Having limited rounds the shotgun would need to be used carefully.
- Could possibly be a bigger target having a mall security badge which looks almost like a police badge from far away.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan to use this character as a main character for the out lands. As most of my character have not developed, or have not got a good back story to them self I feel this character will. Being said so I'd figure a good authorization would be a perfect kick start. As well as that the Odessa model would describe him well, and the model is only seen twice in Half-Life 2, and is almost never used in HL2RP. I think it would work well being a basic model. I plan in basic terms to develop this character at first, and within time turn him into a traveling trader possibly.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No, just me.

Which server does this apply for?
Outlands

Extra Notes (optional):
If there is any grammar mistakes let me know, and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Support & Help / No Subscriptions?
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:37:12 PM »
Right, so I launched up Garry's Mod, join HL2RP, and hopped on in. As soon as I got inside everything was an error. Took me some time to figure out that when I looked at my subscriptions for items, maps, models, ect it was all gone! Every last bit of it. I join a single player game, and all of my models what not are gone. I know they are there it has to be a Gmod bug because when I go into steam workshop under "My Subscriptions" it says I have everything as well as giving me the option to uninstall it. So, I've had this problem before about a month or so ago so I closed down Garry's mod, launched it back up and behold it was still bugged. I've tried restarting my computer even and still no. Validating steam files, and I've looked on steam forums for any similar issues. Nothing of this was found. I've tried to re installed stuff by hitting unsubscribe, and re subscribing though it doesn't work/show up. Suggestions?

General Discussion / Garrys Mod Kinect

Wow this looks amazing. With this in multiplayer I can't imagine how amazing this would be for HL2RP too.

Questions from one of the desc's.

Is this on PC? Is Garry's Mod coming out for xbox? Yes it's on PC - and no Garry's Mod isn't coming out for xbox. Ever.

Is this motion capture - you're creating animations? No - it's live. You move your arm and the ragdoll moves its arm. You jump - and it jumps. It's live, your body is directly controlling the ragdoll.

Does it work in multiplayer? Yes! You can join a server and take control of a ragdoll. Your friend can join and take control of one and you can dance together.

What do I need? A Kinect and the "Kinect for Windows Runtime v1.6". You don't need the "made for windows" kinect - but if you have a 360 kinect you might need to get a power/usb cable so you can plug it into your PC. Sorry mac guys - it is Windows only.

Did that guy turn into a ragdoll? Yeah - when the kinect can't track you anymore the ragdoll turns back into a ragdoll, and just drops to the floor in place.

- 2011 January 9th Romanian Zoo. It was around 3:00 in the afternoon, and inside the nursery. One of the zoo's snow leopards just gave birth to a small litter of two cubs that has not been nick named yet. It sat inside the nursery getting fed by one of the male workers, and the female was back in the closed off area as a small group of kids around 11 years old watched. The cub kept being fed as the male worker with the name tag Jake studied the young cub drinking away at the made milk thinking of how small it was, and what would it be named. As the day passed it was near night time, and the three workers who took part in the birth of the young leopard were at a bar chatting away with a drink. As Jake soon mentioned "Hey...so about the leopard...what do we well....name it?" The others shrugged, and soon they started thinking up names. Starlight, ice, and soon one of the workers suggested the name "Duke." The others agreed on the name being that it was a fairly good name to the group, and it would provide a good advertisement. The next day the workers had returned to the Zoo as most of them got breakfast ready for the animals, and Jake went to the nursery to check up on the cub. Duke was doing fine now, and had looked much better than he was yesterday. Jake went to his boss’s office who mostly sat in there smoking for hours on end. Jake spoke to the boss on the topic that came up last night at the bar naming the leopard Duke, and using it as a great advertisement. The boss agreed and they got the young leopard taking a picture of him. Within the hours the advertisement was ready thanks to the computer, and they printed it out into massive big sheets. These sheets were posted in front of the zoo, and along near the city. The young leopard was let into the closed off circle with his mother. The mother and the cub stood together most days doing their normal thing. Each day more, and more people came to watch the leopard as it grew up with its mother. Duke soon became the mascot of the zoo attracting people. Business seemed good for the time being, and Jake spent time feeding, and ensuring Duke was safe.

Two years passed, and it was now 2013. Duke had grown older, and grown bigger too. Fur developed on the young leopard, and the day was finally at dawn once more as Duke opened his eyes. His mother was near him sleeping, and Duke stood up walking over to the middle looking around above him along the rails where the group is supposed to be. Oddly enough there were only four-five people there all looking bored. One kid threw down a bit of popcorn from his bag and into the ring as Duke ran up to it sniffing it quickly. Duke continued to eat the bit of popcorn. Business had seemed very slow. The owner of the zoo hasn't been seen much, and has kept his office locked for most parts of the day. Most workers had quit, and there was only a few workers left due to most of them quitting. The worker who had worked with Duke, Jake had been the boss’s right hand man assisting with most of the zoo's payments, and bills. Once the day had finally reached noon Jake was standing at the front trying to attract people as he saw a man with a suit, and brief case walking up to the front gates. He asked him what he needed, and the business man told him "Your payments aren't being met. I'm sorry for this, but you will have to shut down soon. Your remaining animals will be removed from the city, and released into the nearby wild." The man handed Jake a letter confirming this before walking off. Jake put his hand up to his forehead in a stressed look muttering to him as he slowly walked towards his boss’s office. Jake told the boss about the news, and he called a right moving company to move the animals. Shortly after he walked to Duke's ring where he opened the door, and Duke Came walking over to him sniffing him as Jake bent down. Jake said with a sad tone "I'm sorry this is the last time I’ll see you...was planning this for later, but take it now.." Jake pulled out a small white collar fitting it over Dukes head. It was a bit big, but it fit. Jake thought about seeing Duke some other day, and him noticing the collar. He pet Dukes head as he said "It's elastic so it will stretch to a right fit. Shouldn't be too tight since you pretty big already...” Jake stood up with a slight smile walking out as Duke scratched with his paw where the new collar had been placed.

The next day around 2:00PM Duke woke up to a very different surrounding. It was in the middle of a forest with the wide open fields, and it was a bit snowy. Duke opened his eyes looking around, and stood up as he looked around wondering where he was. His mother was nearby, and he ran over sniffing her as she woke up too. Both of them watched around as the landscape was different from what they had lived most of their lives. His mother looked around, and checked the area before looking back towards Duke as she began to walk off as Duke followed. They headed into the snowy landscape still unsure of where they are, and how they got there. They soon reached a small cave, and the mother stopped as she looked in for any other inhabitants. She stepped it as no one was there, and Duke came running in. Both of them sat there as they watched their surroundings unsure of what had happened. An hour before this Jake had been sitting in the middle of a snowy field with a sad face with a truck behind him, and Duke sleeping on the ground with his mother near him. The man in the car honked the horn "Hey you coming? We got to get out before they wake." Jake said back " You sure there wasn't a better way than to put them to sleep for a while other than doing it when they are awake?" The man talked back "Do you want to put a mother leopard in a cage inside a truck?" Jake shrugged looking back down to Duke as he grabbing into his collar reading it, and stood up. "Maybe I’ll see you someday..." He walked off back to the truck as they pulled off down the dirt road. They soon left the forest where they returned to the zoo, and it was almost completely gone. The posters and a lot of the company owned property was being cleaned up. Jake sighed as he handed back his uniform, and returned to his normal life.

The date was August 11th 2015, and Duke had grown much bigger now. The collar now fit well. Duke had still been unable to get it off, and it didn't seem to mind him. He had left his mother at the cave, and moved onto a new area by himself. Way out in the mountains of Romania around the snow he fed, and took care of himself. He was now around the age of five years old, and was sleeping one night, and something was making noise. Loud piercing gun shots of high pitched noises and other shots began going off with alarms. Even though they were not close they could be heard off into the distance Duke stood up startled as he looked around keeping his ears up at the unfamiliar shots. He stood up walking out of the cave as he looked up in the sky as it was day light. Duke looked around at the snowy landscape unable to see what was going on, and more high pitched shots were heard, but only closer. Duke turned around and began to leave due to the sounds. He quickly continued on, and found himself near a valley. He found a small cave, and curled up inside trying to fall asleep, but the only thing keeping him awake was the gun shots for the next seven hours.

Two years passed, and Duke was still at his average size, and he has grown to seven years old. HE continued to live in the cave he found during the seven hour war, and occasionally heard Combine choppers or gunshots every now, and then but he grown to be used to it. He lived off the valley called Ineu pass. He had been watching the area multiple times, but hasn't cared to go down to the inn or roads due to the population of citizens, and Over watch. He stood up from his sleep, and walked over to a cliff where it over looked a small valley that lead to Ineu. Duke found his way down the slope slowly, and came up to the hills that went down to Ineu pass, and stood near the bushes as he looked down at the Inn. The fire going inside and the constant smell of cooked meat. Duke looked around, and found a small cave

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
- A different character could provide good interesting RP for others.
- Creates passive RP hunting, traveling.
- Adds to the mountain environment.
- Less of a threat to OverWatch.

Defects
- Could easily fall into a trap of some sort.
- Due to snow leopards not being very territorial someone could sneak up on it if they were careful.
- Hunted for it's meat by citizens.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan to do mostly passive with this character. Hunting, and other things here and there. The character would not interact with any humans or citizens being that it has no need for them. Unless people were to approach it themselves the leopard would be with them for a bit, but leaving the chance it gets.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s)) No.

Which server does this apply for? Outlands.

Extra Notes (optional): Authorization to make an application for an animal character.

Played around with Paint.Net a little, and ended up trying to make something related to Minecraft. Within 20 minutes I pretty much only came up with this. I think it's pretty good for a first try. It's a diamond sword, and the D in the handle represents my username.
