Old set just blew out(RIP), I need to replace them with either headphones and a mic(Can be cheap, I don't care at this point) or a decent headset. All for around 50 bucks(Hard limit)

My Steam name: Titan of the Dinosaurs, Elions
My Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:15659747 STEAM_0:1:10748774

My character's name: Matthew 'Oldman' Henderson, Eli 'Stalker'

The admin who issued the PK: Do not currently know, Various SA's

The reason my character should be unbanned/unpermakilled:
I went there under an OOC misconception/lie that Kronos and I were going to form/reform an/the Alliance to try to expand the playerbase and help new groups form(Jonco confirmed that such an agreement existed with Kronos). This was done in a steam chat between me and Kronos because it was some what breaking character/s for the good of the server. When I arrived at the second town I found Matthew's surrogate daughter is/was being hurt by a vortigaunt, normally I would have left then and there but instead I broke character again for the sake of forming this OOC alliance/the server. When we got in we got so far and I had to go for a bit, when I come back they sprang the ambush and in the firefight both Matthew And Eli were killed.
After it they took our OOC items and said that we were going to be NLR'd. While dropping my extra .357 ammo for Keiji to grab I mis-clicked on one of the boxes and it autoloaded, I was unaware what button I had hit when this happened so I clicked what I thought was the other button and it autoloaded that set of ammo.
After I get off Kronos messages me attempting to black mail me in to giving him my jeep( http://i.imgur.com/Iqqetvu.png?1 ) Rofl confirmed that this was in deed black mail ( http://i.imgur.com/Ere63Lo.png?1 ) after I told him he would only get it with Kronics auth he ended up getting it anyway.

After this I decided to look for the reason behind the ambush, Kronos was AFK/refusing to talk to me so I talked to his other party members.
( http://i.imgur.com/ZDsgqAD.jpg?1 ) After I gathered these I started to ask Jonco/sexy what all they knew about the ambush, turns out they knew nothing other than Sexy knowing that reason, however Kronos had ordered them to do it.

I think because of me breaking character for the sake of Outlands and the player community/trying to help I should be unPK'd.
(If the pictures don't work I'll need to fix them so expect an edit.)

Suggestions / Economic reset.
« on: February 21, 2013, 03:29:57 PM »
Its simple, we totally reset the economy on the city server.
Right now 80% of people playing city(Who are normal citizens) are walking around with 25-50k tokens on them, it's made the economy a joke in the city, the only people who buy stuff is the CCA.

None of the CWU overhauls worked/will work because of the large amount of tokens and v flags running around, reset people/make v flags applicable so you have black market trading, instead of just the lolspawning going around.

Honestly, if VIP's and gold's have that much of a problem with resets taking fake money away, why are you on a serious RP server?

Part one, Chapter one: Return to Forty-Five.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZfaSNoZ6L0" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZfaSNoZ6L0</a>

As the door to the apartment opened a man missing a leg, wearing an eye patch and carrying a bag walked in to the room.
"Well I guess this is it... Time to start my new life, time to live the last days of my life in peace...." he thought to him self.
As the man throws the bag on the ground by the sofa and walked in to the moon light, looking around the grimy apartment.
"I guess this is the poetic end to my 'poetic' story... I had lived my life... Done my part..." he continued to think.

"What bullshit."

The man turns around and leaves the apartment locking the door behind him then walking down the hall way to the stair case.

"The combine are gone, Humanity free, 'freedom' restored. And yet nothing has changed, I'm still the same bitter old man that I was before and nothing is going to change that." he thought to him self.

As the man walked down the stair case to the lobby he walked past the front desk where the lady spotted him and asked "Everything alright Mister Henderson?"
The man looked at her and then the mirror behind him, his bitter scarred expression unchanged.
"Its fine, just going out for a drink."
As he walked out the door he walked down the side walk taking in the sights of the newly rebuilt city.
"It didn't take long for them to rebuild the city and get the systems running again, Police, politics all that horse shit."
As he continues walking by he spots a bar and hurries his way in.

When he gets in he looks around the bar to spot a small number of people and the bar tender, slowly he made his way to one of the stools.
"It was clear that no one in this bar was happy, no one here to have a good time. The bastards have been gone for a year and yet the wounds still aren't healed... Its no wounder why joints like this pop up all across this hell hole."

The bar tender walked up to Matt and took his order, after a few hours of drinking Matt got up and left the bar, drunk enough to not care about anything, but sober enough to walk.

As he very slowly made his way up the stairs he walked in to the apartment and took his coat off, revealing a shoulder holster carrying his .357 magnum.
He pulled off the holster and his shirt and grabbed both of them and the bag and went in to one of the bed rooms. Throwing the bag and the shirt beside the bed he drew the revolver from his holster and looked at it for a moment.
"This was the last thing in the world of value I had left, my sword, my shield, my only friend." he thought to himself.

He put the revolver on the bed side table and then went in to the bath room and looked at himself in the mirror.
As he looked at every scar on his face and his scruffy beard, he started to have flash backs of his time in the pass.

Slowly he made his way back in to the bed room where he fell on the bed laying down on his side and passing out.

Out of Character for OOC:
This isn't an IC story, just one following Matt after events before during and after the war, this is writing for writing.

WARNING: this is going to be depressive as hell for the next few chapters.

Suggestions / Weapons Revamp.
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:24:46 AM »
Now, before you go "RP>script" its impossible to really do that because there are changes with how all the weapons work, ammo cap, and the fact that people go "Why bother" when it comes to things like RPing like you have a different weapon.

What I'm suggesting is revamping the currently system for a more in depth and realistic one.
In Oulands(Where this would have the most effect) currently everyone has the same two-three guns with very few people using IC weapons these weapons that everyone has, would be very uncommon seeing how the only real IC way to get them is to kill OTA/CCA. My suggestion is to add "Surplus" firearms that both the weapons, and the ammo would be common for in the area.

I'm suggesting a three ranked tier system, with each tier having its trades off and benefits.

Tier one(The lowest) would be: Mosin Nagant, Makarov PM, and SKS.
These weapons would be the most common, but limited in firepower based on damage, rate of of fire, and reloading speed.

The Mosin Nagant would be the second most common(Only beaten by the PM), it holds five rounds that are feed from a hit or miss stripper clip system, no scope, long range, limited firepower, and has to be cleaned after each use otherwise the ammo rust the barrel and the weapon is non-functional.

The Makarov PM would be the most common, its small concealable, accurate(About the same as the USP), but the problem with it is it only holds eight rounds, and cannot use standard 9mm rounds. The Makarov uses 9x18(.380) that are bigger then the standard 9x19(.355) used in the USP. It deals slightly less damage due to the smaller cartridge.

The SKS would be the rarest of this tier, but still fairly common. It'd be accurate, but limited to semi-auto only, and the 30 round mag has to be fed with a stripper clip. It uses 7.62 x 39(Same as the AK-47) it'd deal around the same damage, but limited rate of fire and reloading.

The second tier would be: AK-47, AK-74U, Mossberg 500, and the .38 revolver.

The AK would have a high rate of fire(Given its automatic) high recoil, but a damaging round(It'd be hit or miss on penetrating kevlar, but it'd be the royal shit out of the person wearing it), around the same accuracy as the default MP7, 30 round mags, fairly common ammo(Given that its the same as the SKS).

The AK-74U would be the rarest of this tier(Thus the rarest of all the firearms in this suggestion), it'd do less damage then the AK-47(Only slightly) but it'd penetrate kevlar, and have less recoil, And less accuracy(Given the shorter barrel). The ammo would be incompatible with the AK-47(the 74 uses 5.45 x 39).

Now to the .38 revolver, this would be the most common out of this tier, it'd do much more damage then the standard Makarov or 9mm but it does a number less damage then the .357, Still limited to six rounds, but the ammo is fairly common(Cannot use .357 magnum rounds).

The Mossberg 500 would have a larger grouping then the SPAS-12(Same damage though) be able to use the same ammo, and would hold six shells instead of eight.

The final tier would be the combine weapons, the MP7 eats kevlar to bits, the AR-2 does a metric fuckton of damage. These do the most damage but are the rarest with the only viable way to get them is from OTA/CCA. But even then the ammo is rare.

This would rebalance outlands and buff the realism. This is also a good time to suggest this given the inventory loss and the generator being worked on.
I'm going to be searching for good models and such to use(Perhaps SWEPS to base them off of?)

Guides / The in depth guide to firearms.
« on: December 04, 2012, 11:37:08 AM »
Hello friends, this is a look at the firearms of HL2rp.
In this guide we'll be covering the pros and cons about the standard issue weapons of the combine and resistance forces., the facts about the weapons, why the combine/resistance would pick these firearms over others.
The goal of this thread is to provide a better understanding of firearms for their use in roleplay in both city, and outlands.

Pistols.
Looking at the pistols found standard issue for the combine forces we notice a few things, one that the combine prefer to use target style firearms for their standard carry, and that they prefer accuracy over firepower.

With pistols there tends to be three "Styles" of firearms, these styles are often defined by things like grip size, the size and shape of the firearm over all, and the caliber. The three styles of firearms can be broken down in to: Conceal carry, Combat, and Target.

With Conceal carry firearms, you tend to have thinner, lighter and smaller guns made to be carried often on the hip concealed under clothing. They tend to be smaller caliber and use less accurate sights in favor of aiding the draw speed(Higher sights tend to snatch on clothing). Pistols such as the Glock  26, the Ruger LCP/LC9, the Markov, and the snub noise revolver(which is a revolver with a barrel length of less than three inches.) are all common conceal carry firearms, each offering a difference benefit over the others.

Combat style pistols are full size pistols that are often carried open on a hip/drop leg holster.
They feature better sights, carry more rounds, and are more accurate then a conceal carry fire arm, and have more power then conceal carry gun, often sporting calibers from 9x19mm to .45 ACP.
With these bigger cartridges you have greater recoil, but the full frame and weight allows these weapons to reduce felt recoil and help provide quick follow up shots.
Guns of this style are: The colt 1911, The Beretta M9, The majority of the USP series, most of the Glocks, and most revolvers.
These guns tend to be a middle ground, they're hard to conceal, but they provide much greater firepower then the conceal carry series, and even some target guns.

The last style is Target, these guns are often more expensive, harder to clean, and some times provide less firepower then combat style, with the benefit of much greater accuracy then the other two, these guns are the ones used in IPSC shooting, they offer greater felt recoil reduction giving you faster follow up shots then the other two, and the best sights offered.
Another downside is that these guns tend to only run Full Metal jack ammo(will define later.) so they give up more firepower for accuracy and reliability.
Of this style there's the USP Match, the Colt python, variants of the 1911, and many .22 LR firearms.

Now lets cover the guns and their pros and cons.

Lets start with the standard issue side to all CCA forces, the USP Match.

(Picture here)

The USP Match is a target style pistol, sporting a rather large capacity magazine a good rate of fire and the 9x19mm cartridge(Which currently is the standard NATO pistol cartridge) this is a world class target pistol, used in IPSC shooting(Speed pistol shooting) it offers lower recoil then its .45 caliber cousins and offers easy to see adjustable target sights.
What also helps with the recoil and accuracy is the heavy "Bull" barrel, this gives more weight to the front then most standard pistols giving you less muzzle climb when firing, giving quicker follow up shots, it also helps balance the gun with aids the aiming process.

These could be some of the reason why the union picked this for the standard sidearm, its found on all non-union Civil protection officers, and is the Trans-human army's standard side arm as well(The only force to not use this is the Commanders and above), Because the combine don't use money and have the earths resources under their control they can afford to make this pistol, and due to their lack of use out side the cities the don't need to be cleaned that often, but in Outlands they do tend to need to be cleaned more then in the city.

This Pistols downsides is its low stop power. However, in properly trained hands this can be a very deadly weapon.

Now lets move to the Colt Python.

(Picture here)

This weapon serves as a balance, this is a target style double action .357 magnum revolver. Considered to be the best mid line target revolvers on the market, Colt made this to try to get rid of S&W's monopoly on the USA's revolver market.
Sporting a six inch barrel this is the revolver used by the combine forces and resistance alike, often carried by commanders on both sides this full size high power gun can make weaker men break at the sound of the hammer being pulled back.
This gun sports adjustable target sights, giving you near that accuracy often found in revolvers. This is one of the most powerful weapons in the game mode, this can rip apart anything from head craps to OTA.
Limited to six rounds the revolver is the longest lasting style firearm on the market today, versions of popular revolvers are made for conceal carry, most of these are snub noise revolvers sporting the 38 S&W special, these guns are consider to be the most reliable hand guns in the world. Reloading a revolver is a slow process that can be sped up with speed loaders,
(Picture here)
Or speed strips.
(Picture here)

The colt python sports near perfect accuracy at both short to medium range, but due to the power of the cartridge they have a massive amount of recoil, making follow up shots slow and with the limit of six rounds is often considered inferior to the modern automatic handgun on the battlefield.
The Colt Python can also fire the .38 special round for less recoil, but at the cost of less power.

Now, before I go further I'm going to cover the cartridges of the firearms in HL2 before I move on to rifles.

Lets start with the 9x19mm(Often called the 9mm Luger).
9x19mm is the metric name for it, it defines the diameter of the bullet(In this case 9mm) and the length of the case,(19mm)
Now, lets compare it to its weaker sister cartridge the .380.
9mm in inches converts to roughly .380th of an inch(Hence the name) but the 9mm Luger is .355 inches so its rounded up.
The .380 in metric is 9x17mm, following the pattern that I showed above that means that the bullet is 9mm(Or .355 of an inch) and the case is 17mm long. the length of the case often defines the powder behind that round, so the .380 is a weaker version of the 9mm Luger.

The 9mm Luger is a hand gun cartridge, adopted by NATO for low recoil and high speed, compared to the .45 ACP, it offers lower stopping power then the .45 but a soldier can carry much more ammo due to the smaller size and weight of the 9mm round.(.45 ACP is 11.5mm)
Depending on a few factors(Barrel length, armor type, and brand of bullet) a 9mm Luger has been know to penetrate basic armor.

Now, lets look at the grand Ol, .357 magnum.
The .357 is considered to be a more buffed version of the .38 special, both the .357 and the 9mm luger sport a slightly longer case compared to their smaller brothers for more of safety reasons then anything else, a 9mm luger won't chamber in a .380, and a .357 magnum won't chamber in a .38 special revolver.
In metric the .357 magnum is 9x31mmR(Same diameter as the Luger, but much longer case gives it better stopping power.) in this case the R stands for rimmed.
(Picture here)
That rim allows it to properly be seated in the revolvers cylinder and gives something for the extractor rod to grab on too.
The .357 was made because the .38 special(The then standard issue caliber for most police officers in America) was considered to weak and they wanted the ability to pierce the think metal doors of a car, or even in to the engine block to stop a speeding car(Mind you, this was in the 30s.) as well as gangsters starting to wear body armor that the special didn't have the speed to penetrate(When trying to pierce body armor its always better to use faster, often small bullets.)  so they started loaded the specials hotter(Loaded more powder, caused greater pressures and sped the bullet up) we call these +P ammo. But there was still a problem with the doors and some of the thicker body armor, so S&W took the .38 special, made the case stronger, and slightly longer, and loaded it so hot they had to make a stronger frame revolver to shoot it, otherwise the pressure would break the revolver.

The modern revolvers still can penetrate almost all body armor worn, including OTA's making the revolver an effective hand cannon and one of the most deadly guns in the game when used properly.

Primary Weapons.

In this chapter we'll be covering the primary weapons carried by the combine and resistance forces.
This list consist of: MP7, SPAS-12, AR2, and the Combine sniper, and the Resistance crossbow.
I'm not going to go in to detail with the pulse weapons due to my lack of knowledge but bear with me.

Let's start with some facts on the MP7.
The MP7 is a selective fire(Modified by the combine to fully auto only.) made by German gun manufacturer H&K(The same that makes the USP Match). It was designed to replace the MP5 as the PDW used by private military contractors and military personnel.
Its primary design feature is the bullet it fires, the 4.6x30mm H&K round, which was made to penetrate military grade Kevlar while providing better stopping power then the 9mm Luger cartridge. With the low recoiling round, Valve removed the stock to rise felt recoil and give it less uncontrollably for better game balance.

However the MP7 is more of a compact "Assault rifle" then an MP7 given its use of a rifle round.

The combine modified the MP7 to feature a 20mm under barrel grenade launcher, there is no information on how this is loaded, however when used properly both the MP7 and its grenade launcher make a very good short range ambush weapon(Assuming you don't blow your self up) however due to its high recoil it is not recommended to use it at long/medium long range.

A quick run down of the Pros and Cons for the MP7

Pros:
-Good mobility.
-Great close range firepower.
-High rate of fire.
-Armor piercing capable.

Cons:
-High rate of fire eats up ammo very quickly.
-Not very accurate past 30 meters.
-Low stopping power

(Picture here)

Moving on to the SPAS-12 we have a 12 gauge semi-automatic/pump action full size shotgun with out a stock
The SPAS-12 was made to be a standard issue police/Riot shotgun.
It was designed as a semi-automatic with a working pump to help clear jams and quickly load it, it fires the powerful 12 gauge shotgun shell(Combine use 00 buck shot) which gives near perfect stopping power at the cost of range and recoil.

With shotguns you have to remember that the smaller the number the bigger it is(Weird to try to wrap your head around) 00 buck shot are .32 caliber(Maybe confusing this with 000) and is a popular home defense/military/police round, it balances power, spread, and recoil.
The SPAS-12 is a very heavy shotgun, coming in at eight pounds this thing out weighs some machine guns, with out the stock you lack the ability to safely bring the shotgun up to its sights unless trained to handle the recoil, its best to "Fire from the hip" with it cleared from impacting your body with its recoil, but due to the weight the recoil it is far less then it would be with normal shotguns.

The combine modified the SPAS-12 to fire pump only(Perhaps to fix any feeding issues) they also gave it the ability to fire two rounds at once(How is a mystery to me.) this is not recommended unless very close to your target and the target is VERY large and slow.
The shotgun is considered to have an "Open choke" meaning that there is little to no choke in it(Choke is the barrel of the shotgun getting progressively smaller to improve the shot pattern) which allows the use of "Rifled slugs" (though the combine don't use these and they are high recoiling they might be found if auth'd and ICly shot) slugs give higher recoil but near perfect accuracy up to 70 meters.

00 buck shot offers very little armor penetration, however due to the force of the round being spread out over an area it can knock down a target at close range and crack ribs and even break the spine if fired in to the back(Close range being a Max of ~20 feet),
but buck shot only has a max effective range of 50 Meters.

Pros and Cons.
Pros
-Its a shotgun
-The pump action can be used as a warning
-Buck shot is a /VERY/ effective close range round
-Its a mother fucking shotgun.
-The ability to fire two rounds at once allows you to take down /VERY/ large targets(Such as hunters and ant lion guards.)

Cons.
-its a shotgun you have a very short effective range.
-Low rate of fire.
-low ammo count.
-Heavy ammo.
-Heavy gun.

(I'm going to cut it right here for now cause I have research to do on these next weapons)

Chapter four: Ammo.

Now here we get in to some fun, in this chapter I'm going to be defining somethings people don't know about ammo like its types, what are the benefits and draw backs to some of those types and remove some misinformation from the community.

Let's start with ammo types, There three or four main types of ammo that that is: FMJ/Ball, HP, and SP.
With FMJ/Ball you have your basic bullet, normally round noise(OR pointed for rifles) solid lead normally with a copper jacket covering everything but the bottom of the bullet(And even then some times its covered). This is your most basic/common type of ammo and what you'll be seeing a lot of in HL2, with this round you have VERY little to no expansion(Will define this factor in another chapter) but a whole lot of penetration, so much in fact that with some calibers it could go through someone and the wall behind them and hit someone behind that wall and go through them!
This ammo is used mainly for its reliable feeding and its ease of manufacturing, and you can have fairly light training loads that give less recoil and longer ranges/accuracy.

The next time is Hollow point bullets.
With a hollow point you have a cavity in the front of the bullet, in this cavity we have whats called "Soft lead" or "pure lead"(Most ammo use a lead/tin mixture to make it harder and not deform when loading/making the bullet), when this impacts a soft object(Person, gel, whatever) the soft tissue fill the cavity up and the soft lead allows it to "Mushroom" back and expand the bullet, creating drag and cutting motions, allowing for better kinetic transfer in to the target.
There are three types of Hollow points: Lead, Semi-jacked, and Jacked.(SJHP, and JHP)
Both have pros and cons, A lead round gives weak penetration, and un-uniformed expansion and even fragmenting.
A SJHP gives better penetration and more uniformed expansion, but still has the fragmenting problem.
A JHP is considered the best for personal defense and gives near perfect expansion and no fragmenting, as well as the jack forming "Talons" and creating a cutting motion(Which combined with the bullet spinning from the rifling) makes for a VERY VERY deadly round.
Most people carrying guns(Be them police or civilians) carry JHPs due to their effectiveness.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ7ri9wa728" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ7ri9wa728</a>
This is video shows basically what all police in america uses, this is a very effect JHP thus I picked this video to show you the mushroom effect(NOTE: A wound cavity caused by a bullet would close up unlike the gel, but the damage is still there). You can watch other videos on this channel to help get a better understanding

Soft points are considered purely hunting rounds and are really only found in hunting rifle calibers like .308 and such.
However soft points are like ball ammo with a flat point that is soft lead, when it impacts soft tissue it expands a bit like a Hollow point, but not nearly as effectively.

Using firearms.

In this Chapter we'll be going over things like holding the weapon(Which will effect accuracy/mobility) and things that would effect your point of aim(Where your aiming compared to where the bullet is going) and things like recoil and dismissing some urban legends.

When holding a firearm, your stance can effect your shot more that most people think. With higher recoiling firearms(Shotguns, Automatics, high powered rifles) it will effect the time to get a second shot off.

With pistols there are three main ways to hold it, each of them have their benefits and they all have their downsides.

"Cup and saucer" This is the classic way to hold a pistol, while no longer used to due to its flaws it still has its benefits.
With this style the grip on the pistol is held by the right hand while the left hand is "cupped" under the grip to provide stabilization.
The downsides to this is your resting the gun on your palm, and a number of blood veins, this will make the gun move around more with your pulse(Up and down), its also a less stable grip to maintain due to your "Supporting" arm being totally unsupported, however with less recoiling weapons such this issue can be avoided by putting your left elbow on your hip(Bending  your body in the process).
This method makes you a much smaller then the way most people shoot their guns at the range.
Along with this, its also an easy to teach style of shooting, and makes it easier to control higher recoiling guns(such as the .357 magnum and other revolvers) so this is mainly used with revolver style weapons.
This grip style provides good mobility but at the cost of accuracy in the long run.
Its also easy to shoot from cover with this.

(Pic)

"One handed" This style your holding the gun with one hand, this can be done by either holding the gun in front of you(Max Payne style) or to your side(Like you see in the Olympics). When holding it in front you have less stabilization and a bit less recoil control, but you're more free to move the gun around and engage more then one target very quickly while staying mobile(this isn't advised when engaging well trained forces like OTA) when shooting with your body pointed sideways you're shooting at your best, you're less stable then other grip styles, but you're a very small target able to stay mobile(Note, walking like this you will lose even more stability then with the gun pointed in front of you, with your arm bent to take up most of the movement.) this style makes it nearly impossible to control the recoil of higher caliber firearms(.45 ACP, .357 magnum etc etc).

"Two-handed" This is the style you're mostly going to be seeing people who are trained in firearms to use, Not as quick as one handed, but still quick, accurate, and gives you moderate control of the recoil.
With this style you're holding the grip with your right hand(if your right handed) and you have your "offhand" also holding the grip folded over your right hand, this style gives you the most stability out of all of them, but it still allows you to move and shoot, with a bit more stability then one handed or cup and saucer methods.
This can be used with the lighter Magnums like .357 and maybe .44, but you'll still be dealing with quite a bit of recoil.

When dealing with recoil of a pistol, the best thing you can do is hold the gun with as strong of a grip as you can get and when it recoils back apply more pressure to the top of the gun to counter the muzzle climb.

(Too be continued.)

Notes: Kinda based off of Jake Muller from RE6 back story changed a lot(Such as the fact that his mother left his dad, not the other way around.) Made him a bit less cliche and cleaned up some of the grammatical errors

Chapter One: The Reunion.

An Old man sits down on a bar stool in the middle of a run down and abandoned bar some were in Eastern Europe.
The Old man pulls out a bottle of whiskey and a revolver, setting them both on the counter. Then in the quite and abandoned place the doors open again, and a lone red headed man walks in carrying a rifle.

"I was wondering when you would show up." The Old man said. "We need to stop meeting like this father..." The red headed man replied.
The old man drags out of his backpack a few shot glasses. "Care to drink with your old man?" he said.
The red headed man shrugged and sat down beside his father. "Matthew Henderson.. Doctor Matthew Henderson sitting around a bar drinking his ass off" The man Said.
"Adrian we both have been through a lot since we last met..." Matthew replied.
"Doesn't make up for it."
Matthew sighs and pours the whiskey in to the glasses and slides one to Adrian "Managed to contact anyone we knew from before the war?" Matthew asked.
"Nah, worried sick about Anna... I know she left me before the war its just..." he replied.
The old man sighs and drinks the entire shot, while Adrian hesitates but follows his father and downs the shot.
"Anna's dead... " Matthew said.
"How do you know?" Adrian asked. The old man sighs as he pours some more whiskey in to their drinks. "I was told by someone I didn't expect to meet, and pulled a few strings to make sure..." Matthew replied.
"Who told you?" Adrian asked. The Old man looks at the glass full of whiskey before saying "Your son told me...."
"I don't have a son?" Adrian replied with a confused and worried look on his face.
"Thomas. Richard. Drew. Can't deny the fact that hes a spitting fucking image of you." The old man said before downing the shot.
"I'll keep him safe, however the kid is slightly traumatized by the war...." Matthew added.
Adrian sighs right before downing the shot, then looks at Matthew's revolver for a second before picking it up. "This is like the one you had back home? Where'd you find it?" he asked.
"Long story... I took it with me on a little trip out here before the war, ended up leaving it behind... Trying to put events that happened there, and before behind me..." Matt replied.
The two of them stayed quite for a few minutes before Adrian got up and said "I'm going to be in the area for a while... I may show up and see Thomas..."
"Good luck, the slippery bastard knows how to stay out of sight.." Matt replied.
As Adrian left Matt grabbed his revolver and left the whiskey and shot glass and preceded to exit the building.

After traveling north a little ways it started to get dark and he stumbled across a small refugee camp.
"Anyone home?" He asked, though he already saw them try to put out the fires.
"I'm not a bandit or a combine! Just an Old Man seeking shelter!" He yelled.
The doors to the camp opened up and he walked inside to be surrounded by four people, One of them holding a handgun. "What's your name and intent stranger?" the Armed person asked.
"Just need some were to stay for the night before traveling on wards.."
The men looked at each other and then said "Alright mate, you can stay here for a bit and warm your self around the fire, but you can't stay here tonight... We just don't have the space.."
Matt Nodded and then sat down by the fire to warm his hands.

Chapter Two: The Revolver.

Matthew gets up from beside the fire. "I guess its time for me to go, thanks for your hospitality."
One of the men turned and said "Eh its no bother..."
Matt chuckles for a moment before walking out of the camp to look for a place to sleep for the night.

A few hours later

Matthew gets in a worn out sleeping bag and stairs at the cave ceiling for a moment before shutting his eyes and going to bed.
Slowly he starts to slip in to dreams and flash backs of his past.

Eastern Texas, 1972
A young man comes riding in to a small barn by a ranch house on horse back. As he gets off he ties the horse up the in the barn and walks out to the barn to find his grand mother out on the porch waiting for him. "What's up?" the young man asked.
In an old and kind voice the lady kindly replies "Oh, just watching the world go by... And your grand father wants to see you Matt."
A 19 year old Matthew Nods and walks in to the house to find his grand father sitting on the couch with a small box in front of him.
"You wanted to see me granddad?" Matt asked.
"Ah yes... I need you to sit down, I got something to give you. " The old man replied.
Matt sits down beside his grandfather and looks at the box and the grand father slides it over to him.
"So I went to town today to pick up a few things, and decided it was time you got one of these.."
Matt opened the box to find a rather large object wrapped in cloth in it. As he picked it up he slowly took off the cloth to find a stainless steel revolver with wooden grips on it.
"Whats this?" Matt asked with a confused look on his face.
"You're going to be leaving soon, and your grand mother and I decided it was time that you got something to defend your self with.."
Matt sighs as he opens the cylinder to make sure its empty "I don't need a revolver, I can handle my self..."

"Out of the question, not to mention the damn coyotes are becoming a problem again. But I think it'd be a good idea to have it handy when you move out..." The old man said.
Matthew sighs in defeat as he ask "What model and caliber?"
The old man chuckled at his defeat and told him "S&W model 19, .357 magnum."
Matt looks down in the box to find a box of .357 rounds.
"I know your father told you how to shoot.. But Rob at the gun store cut you a deal on the gun range... I want you to practice and get use to the gun.." The old man said.
Matt nods and put it back in the box "I guess I should start now." and slowly got up and got out the door.

A year later.

Matthew gets out of the car with the box of his stuff and comes up to the apartment building inspecting it for a moment he walks through the door and up to the man behind the front desk "Matthew Henderson.. I'm renting an apartment here..." Matt said.
The man smiles and checked his list "Ah yes Henderson.. Wow.." the man said.
"What is it?" Matt asked.
"Oh nothing, just you're paid for the first year..."
Matt sighs when he realized that his granddad must have been the one to fork out all the money to do this.

As Matt got unpacked he decided to take in the view from the balcony, he could see the campus from there and a mountain in the background.
As he left he window he came across the box with the .357 in it, he opened it and checked to see that it was loaded and then slide it under the bed. After looking around the apartment for a second to take in the fact that he really is starting his new life.

April, 1995
The streets of Seattle were nearly flooded as a Taxi came speeding along to the hospital.
Inside was a Paniced Driver and a young woman in labour, no older then 18.
"How far are we!?" She moaned.  "Not that far" The paniced driver said as he pulled in to parking lot rushing to the entrance to get her out.
When they stopped by the door the driver jumped out of the car and ran in to the building, a minute later a nurse and a doctor came out with a wheel chair to try to get her inside, but it was too late.
After giving birth in the car they wheeled her in to the hospital and moved them to the correct ward, the Doctor asked her what would she like to name the baby. She said Thomas, after the child's Grandfather.

August, 2001.

"But mom, I don't wanna go to school!" The young Child said.
"I don't care, you need to go moneys tight and I can't afford to let you hang around here all day." The mother said.
"But I haven't even had breakfast!" Thomas said, "I know, they'll feed you there... I hope.." The mother replied.

Thomas, no more then six years old walked out and climbed up on the bus looking around, finding the only empty seat sitting next to a kid with a mo' hawk.
"So whats your name?" Thomas Asked. "Jake, Yours?" He replied, "Thomas".

Before arriving at the school Jake and Thomas were already becoming fast friends, In first grade all the way to fourth the bond between them grew stronger and stronger.

When they started in Middle school, Jake and Thomas saw some Kids running around, jumping and climbing up on things. So they went and asked what they were doing, that's when they got introduced to free running.
After that Thomas and Jake couldn't get enough of it. Thomas found him self getting in to cross country, as well as sprinting.

When in the first year of High school Jake and Thomas got in a fight over a girl, Thomas broke Jake's noise and Jake broke Thomas's arm in that fight. After that they didn't speak for two years.

Towards the end of high school Thomas's mother lost her already low income job and Thomas wasn't eating nearly enough to keep up his strength  for cross country or free running.

But that's when the community picked the both of them up, providing donations to help keep food in the house, as well as Thomas getting invited to his friends house for meals. Thanks to the them, They got to keep their home and Thomas got to go to state for cross country.

Thomas never did get to collage, he picked up a fair income job working at a dinner as a waiter.

August 11th, 2015. Thomas was sleeping in when it hit, massive explosions ripped around the house he'd been sharing with his mother, He went to check out expecting to find the Soldiers that normally guard from Xen life but they were gone and what ever was happening was getting closer. Thomas decided to brave leaving the house as he looked outside he saw massive tripods ripping apart the nearby street and he ran for it. Trying to reach his mother dinner he got cut off by a firefight between Soldiers and one of the strange tripods, which preceded to rip the soldiers apart.

He took off running then he saw a site that horrified him, a group of kids getting massacred by the soldiers. Thomas yelled out, but he couldn't be heard over the screaming. So again he turned and ran this time heading for a nearby apartment building.

He hid till the fighting passed in the abandoned apartment building. After he didn't hear fighting for an hour, he and a few other people who were trapped in the apartment building exited and looked around. They found the military forced slaughtered and Thomas started looking for his mother among the broken city, He never found her and assumed she was dead and gave him self up to the invaders for processing.

Date: Unknown, Year: 2016.
Location: City 46
With a loud thud Thomas hit the ground from being thrown in a dark room. "What are you going to do? Kill me?" He asked.
"No, in fact we're going to ask for your help... " A strange man replied.

The man turned the light on to the room, Revealing a small abandoned apartment with maps of City Eight, City Seventeen, City Eleven, and City Forty five.

"Who are you?" Thomas asked.
"A courier service." The man chuckled in reply.

After Thomas got to talking with them, they offered him a job transporting packages around City forty five to some less than Loyal citizens. Thomas accepted to get his mind off his hope less search for his mother. When Thomas asked why they offered him a job the man smiled and replied " We've been watching people all over this city for runners, you seem to be better then anyone here at finding routes around the city."

"Now lets get this skinny fucker fed" The man ordered his team.

After a good meal, he introduced him to his teacher and who would be running with him for his first missions. A younger girl named Sarah.

For the next few days, Sarah trained Thomas in nutrition and more things about free running and the pair of them started to get close.

Then a day before their first trip Sarah got one of the other team members to teach Thomas, Who till then only saw handguns in the hands soldiers and Civil Protection a 9mm pistol and taught him the basics of trigger control, back stops and carrying concealed as well as operations of the fire arm. Thomas didn't feel safe carrying the side arm, but followed orders from Sarah to do so.

Their first mission went with out problems and when they got back the team leader gave Thomas a holster made to be worn on the inside of the pants, and taught him how to wear it properly.

The next few missions Thomas did by him self, still hanging around the base when he can, and following Sarah's instructions on nutrition to try to stay as healthy as possible.

Date: unknown, Year: 2017.

Thomas walked up the abnormally abandoned street and walked in to the apartment building where the teams base was. When he entered he was greeted with Guns pointed at his head by his own team. "What the fuck is going on?!" he asked.
The team leader grabbed him and pulled him inside then shut and locked the door saying "We got reports that there might be a raid here any second..." he replied.
Thomas's eyes widened then they heard a banging from below of the combine breaching. The team leader kicked up a few of the floor panels and said "Thomas get inside, your the only one who'll fit." Following his orders he did so getting in there and hiding. As the combine breached the door they tossed in a flash grenade, Blinding everyone inside including Thomas.

Then he heard a scream followed by hundreds of gun shots from the direction of the door, when he finally regained eye sight he looked up and saw blood dripping from the floor panels, Thomas waited there hours trying to process what just happened. When he looked around he saw a packet and grabbed it. Climbing out from under the panels he looked around and saw everything taken, the maps, his friends, everything.

He started to make his way out of the apartment building and then out of the city reading the instructions on the packet on what to do if there was an attack. The packet told him to make his way to a place in the mountains called "Ineu pass". During the trip Thomas ran in to a bandit ground that shot him and took his fire arm and ammo. But when he heard them coming and hid the packet. When he manged to pull him self up he grabbed the packet and kept going with a gun shot to the shoulder, making his way to the pass and into the arms of one of the clinic medics called Joanna Sinbow, who he gave the packet to.

After Joanna and Matthew Henderson helped him process what happened in the city and in the war, he started eating till following the instructions that Sarah gave him.

Alright this may be the weirdest thing I'll say here but...

I can no longer tell when I'm dreaming and when I'm awake.
There's always an event that wakes me up(Normally a knocking sound which is my mom busting down my door IRL) but the main problem with them is that they're lucid dreams so I'll sometimes get on my computer(And they're normally this reality) and talk with people in my dreams and then wake up and realize that it was a dream.

Or even worse I keep having the the same dream of me getting up and going outside my room to all of my windows being broken and one of my walls broken down(And I mean smashed to bits) and me getting breakfast(Eggs and such) and then looking in to a mirror shard and there being a much much older version of me in the mirror.

THEN there's the ones where all hell breaks lose(Zombie attack, nuclear war, and such) I even had one of me being a soldier in D-day that shit haunted me for a week because in it I shot a German at point blank range and saw the life leave his eyes!

Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.
Matt was born to a poor family in Dallas, in 1967. His dad was going from job to job with his mom trying to find work where she could to support them. Matt's dad started drinking when he got laid off and he started to get violent. After watching his mom get beaten by him, Matt's dad decided that his son shouldn't grow up thinking of his father like that, so he decided to teach Matt how to hunt. After teaching him how to shoot his little plinking gun his dad got him a small bolt action .223 deer rifle. After he learned to control the recoil his dad started to play a more advance form of hide and seek in the woods, teaching Matt to find him by tracking his footprints and listening to him moving, Matt had a joy of a time doing this with his father and loved every second of it.

Matt's dad got him up early in the morning to go hunt with him, when Matt got up he saw his mom at the door with a black eye and a glare at his father, Matt too young to understand what was going on just went about like it was nothing.
When they got the truck unloaded and up in to the deer stands, Matt laid there waiting for his father when he spotted a seven point buck he pulled back the bolt to make sure there was a round loaded and shouldered the rifle and slowly took aim, he got control of his breath and took two deep breaths and on the last exhale held his breath in till he squeezed the trigger making the rifle go off in to the heart of the deer, who only ran twenty feet before falling dead. Matt's dad quickly ran to find out what Matt shot at and saw the deer, he then told Matt how to skin it and get the meet off and what cuts were best.

After Matt told his dad all about it they loaded the truck back up and headed home.
After ten more years of the abuse Matt's Mom had enough and sent him to her parents ranch in west Texas, where before they could get out the door Matt's dad tried to stop them and hit Matt's mother when she pulled a revolver and shot him dead with three rounds to the chest.
With both of them staring at the body eyes wide open they didn't think for a moment to call the cops about what happened, however a police cruiser pulled up and two officers got out and drew their guns, Matt's mom quickly put the pistol on the ground and the cops interrogated them both and when Matt and his Mother showed them the scars they didn't arrest or charge Matt's mom, however due to what happened she had to be admitted to a mental hospital and Matt still ended up at his grand parents ranch.

While Matt was at the ranch his grand farther let him shoot a bit more on a improvised range where he got better at the longer ranges, to the point where his granddad would send him out to hunt down the foxes and boars killing the cattle and destroying the crop. And Matt enjoyed his time there from the work, to the shooting.

After six months of working at the ranch he was putting his horse in for the night when a snake got in to the stall and spooked the horse, Matt tried to clam her down but the horse bucked and kicked Matt in the chest knocking him down cold.

After that Matt didn't work too much at the ranch before leaving and starting his own life.
He started to study military tactics due to him wanting to join the military where he changed his mind and got in to the medical world, still watching the movies on the wars and their tactics from time to time but losing quite a bit of the knowledge.

He never got to use his skills during the portal storms or during the war because he was trying to be more of a medic then a soldier.
But Matt got his hands on a rifle and decided he could do quite a bit of good with it and started to help the valley with their food and combine problems.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
Different hit/miss ratio in a long firefight.
Ability to track people/creatures alike.
The ability to set up ambushes and defenses for the resistance.

Defects
Horrible Short to medium range shooting(S2M 97% of the time.)
Creates social awkwardness when he tends to stalk people.
Thick minded, he'll find one tactic for ambushing and it'll take him awhile to grow away from him which may cost lives.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan on working with OTA to make fun firefights for both parties when we have approval from the leader.

The tracking is more for food then hunting down bandits, so if authorized I'd like to hunt from time to time bring in some deer/ant lion/head craps/boars to cook and eat giving a better supply of food.

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Which server does this apply for?
Outlands

Extra Notes (optional):
I may add defects when they come to mind/are requested. Oh and Plinking is where you take a .22 or a bb gun and shoot cans in your backyard/on someones property its not an error.
