Denied / Luca Paytner's Metropolice Force Application

Luca Paytner's Metropolice Force Application

IC Character Name: Luca Paytner
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Metropolice Force and what lead your character to do so.
My character first hated the MPF because many of them discriminated against my characters magic. But on top of that, my character ICly is a joker and likes to play pranks. This landed him into trouble with 711 which nearly killed him.
Because of that my character fell into the "wrong crowd" per say, that being Artyom and Konstantinos. We plotted against the people in the slums and the MPF, and I wished to finally get revenge against 711. 711, however, advanced to EpU and scared the shit out of me in the torture room after I yelled out "Russians!" in the rations line and so I gave up the idea of taking revenge.
After a while, Artyom ran into trouble with the "Gramps Gang", who had two pistols at the time. We got into a fight in the bridge and my character suffered a 9mm to the gut. Being dazed with no one to help, the person who came to Luca's rescue was none other then 711.
Due to these events, my character has changed his outlook of the MPF and wishes to enlist so that he can help citizens who fall into the same situation he did. On top of that, he wishes to one day find Gramps, and avenge his fallen friends.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)
Joker, Manipulative (likes to read in between the lines of rules), Easygoing, Energetic, Bold, Calm.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.
I expect that the Combine Civil Authority to be tough for my character due to what he's gone through and his personality. He will have a hard time adjusting to following orders due to his relaxed and easy going nature. He also has a hard time following rules directly so he will have to adapt quickly in order to fit in.
Due to the problems above that he has to work out, as well as the psychological problems that will affect him later on because he watched his best friend get shot right before him, he will probably be a wreck around the 04-03 rank if he manages to get there. I am not sure what I will do later on with these psychological problems, but I think they'll spice up his character and the others he will interact with.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
Luca Paytner grew up in the slums of America, New York. He had a family of three. Him, his mother and his father. His mother worked for the family's welfare check due to America's corrupt government privatizing even the most basic of necessities. His father dealt with some... rather shady people, doing heavy lifting in exchange for money.
Nothing changed much till Luca hit the age of three, when his entire family got gunned down by black gangsters. He was forced to watch it all. The only reason he lived through it was because his mother piled onto him, covering him from the bullets. When everything died down, he slowly walked out, a hollow expression and an empty gaze in his eyes.
He was just about to drop down from the emotional shock when a man on the sidewalk picked him up. His name was David Longhorn, his savior, his replacement father, and his mentor all in one. David brought Luca up as best as possible and taught him the craft of magic, as he was a street entertainer. Luca was taught how to make the best of life, as well as how to perform magic, something that fascinated him greatly.
When he hit the age of sixteen, he hit the road and said goodbye to his mentor. The next few years are a blur as he works on the street as a magician and finally finds a circus to help out in. David would continue his street performing before he fell prey to illness when Luca was 20 and died shortly after.
When the 7 hour war hit, Luca was both glad but at the same time, he was devastated. He believed that the Combine had killed his mentor as he couldn't find his mentor, but he was glad because the gangsters who had killed his entire family thought it was a good idea to shoot at the combine in a desperate attempt to keep their riches. He was shortly captured and forced into a train, living in two cities before finally ending up in his current city.
5) Have you ever had a MPF character here at Catalyst Gaming? If so, explain why it was removed.

A couple of years ago, I played for a few weeks and then got involved in other RP communities. In this new CG, I have played for about two(?) weeks now, on and off.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?
My most memorable quality RP experience is when I first started roleplaying in HL2RP. My first community was Sinnvantous(?) RP, then abbreviated as ShitRP. I spawned in as Alisha Parker, and walked around in the plaza when a random male_07 /me'd walking up to me and putting his hand out. I was confused, and did a very basic /me back and he asked me to join his gang because I looked pretty strong.
It was nowhere in my char phys desc but I went with it. He lead me to the slums and told me the initiation ritual is to beat up a random civvie to death. After jumping a citizen with /me's, I managed to kill him after KOing him and swep punching him to death. After that, he handed me a gun and a radio and said "Welcome to the team." I never thought id get anywhere in HL2RP because my friends described it as a boring walking simulator, but after that I was hooked.
Looking back now, I realize how horrid of an RPer I must have looked to the guy, but he still gave me the chance to RP with him and I wouldn't be playing HL2RP without his encouragement both IC and OOC.

Notable Qualities: Calm and easy going, which is good for the CCA seeing as you don't want a panicky unit.
1. Have you ever been detained or apprehended for a Sociostability Infringement before? If so, explain?
I have been detained, from what I can recall from my memory, three times. One was for pulling a prank on 711. I rigged a trap in which I drew a smiley face onto a bucket and attached it to a jumpsuit. I then attached it to some thin jumpsuit fibres and then wrapped that around the door handle to an apartment.
If he opened the apartment, the fake citizen would fall in front of his face, spooking him. This scared the crap out of him and we got in a tussle. I never directly nor indirectly assaulted the unit but was then tied by the legs and feet. I was detained and locked away for several "cycles" as the CCA call it.
The second time was when I screamed "Russians!" in the rations line as a joke. I hoped the units would assume I was happy for rations but they caught me in the act of yelling it out and I was detained by 711 when he got promoted to EpU.
The last time I was detained was because I watched three recruits patrolling the plaza and then cracked a joke once more, yelling out "Cruit Storm!". They warned me, and as I was walking away and giggling to myself, I yelled out "Cruit Storm!" once again and ran around the corner. I fully stopped after they told me to, and faced the wall, though that was after a few warnings as I was reluctant to get beat up. I was then detained.
2. Do you regularly eat Combine Civil Authority Issued Rations?
Yes.
3. Are you willing to give your life to the cause of the Universal Union?
Yes.
4. Do you as a Citizen and future Civil Protection Member accept ALL actions performed by you and those under your command as your OWN responsibility?
Yes.
5. Will you remain loyal and faithful to the Universal Union as long as you live?

6. Why do you want to join the Combine Civil Authority?
I wish to join the Combine Civil Authority force because I feel that I am powerless in my state. Even if I was to foolishly take up arms against anti-citizens, I would be branded an anti-citizen myself and would both have to face the AC's and the might of the CCA.
In order to both protect the people I care for, and stay alive, I have to borrow the power of the CCA. Which means joining its ranks and following orders until I become high ranked enough to be able to make a difference, like 711 did when he turned around the corner and protected me from the anti-citizens with his MP7.
I won't lie, however, when I state that one of my ulterior motives is to catch the arses who murdered my friend in cold blood with a USP just for being a loyalist. Or my other friend ; jabbed in the eye socket and choked out. I feel like its an omen, telling me to take revenge for my friends, for I was the only one who managed to live. This revenge is one of the things fueling me.

I, Luca Paytner hereby swear my mind, body and soul to the Universal Union forever so long as I draw breath. I do so knowing that my actions will be held accountable to me and solely myself. I also declare my knowledge that as a Member of The Universal Union that I will be required to perform tasks above and beyond as well as perform ANY task ordered to by ANY commanding person(s). I hereby acknowledge the fact that as a Civil Protection Task-force Unit that I will be losing most, if not all, communication and or past relationship with anyone outside of the Universal Union's operational bounds.
