Server Update

  • Fixed smuggler timer not initializing on initial spawn. No more rejoining to constant smuggle.
  • Fixed being able to buy any door even if it's already owned(For real this time).
  • Fixed FSA banning for admins. You can now ban from the FSA menu.
  • Added unban option to FSA for admins.
  • Moved heli spawns closer to runway so the rear rotors don't hit the wall.
  • Coast Guard Radio is fixed.
  • Added CG radio whitelist/unwhitelist to FSA for admins.
  • Lowered WAC helicopter sounds(For real this time).
  • Added back locking helicopters from the inside. Default key is 'K', change it in Q -> Options -> Aircraft.
  • Added ability for Skycrane driver to attach/detach items to the crane hook.
  • Fixed sometimes automatically being entered into a passenger seat on the fishing boat when leaving the driver seat.
  • Fixed microwaves.
  • Fixed not being able to steal packages.
  • Added taser.
  • Fixed artifact box spawning position. It now spawns next to scuba npc.
  • SA+ can now refund via FSA.

Server Update

  • Changed Cessna spawns from the runway to the two wings on the side.
  • Cessna price reduced from $350k to $250k(This was actually done when the server went back up but forgot to say).
  • Fixed smuggling - You can now buy packages.
  • Depth meter now displays the proper depth.
  • Fixed Yacht getting stuck on dock when it spawned.
  • Fixed Bell Amphibian spawning damaged.
  • Fixed being able to buy fish bait on a full inventory but not receive anything. Now you won't get charged + won't receive anything.
  • Fixed Yacht/SC-1 sounds not stopping.
  • Fixed some helicopter rotors being able to be gravgunned. No rotors can be grabbed with the gravgun now.
  • Fixed (somewhat) fishing boat rocking back and forth when spawning.
  • Fixed Anti-Exit World system. Entities will now be removed when they leave the boundaries of the current map to prevent crashing.
  • Fixed Gold Members not getting 50 armor on initial spawn.
  • Cut the volume of helicopters in half.
  • Littlebird can now be equipped with weapons so long the vehicle is in Blue Harbor.
  • Fixed glowsticks floating in air
  • Scuba NPC is no longer drowning in the ocean. He's at the Island Resorts off of the runway.
  • Decreased radio menu minimum height from 900 to 720 for players running on smaller resolutions.

With the coming of the most recent GMod update, HRP had to had go under maintenance for repair. Though I spent the weekend debugging and fixing as much of the gamemode as I could, one person can only test so much. So while you all are playing, I ask that you pay attention and if you notice any errors please create a bug report immediately.

Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans! 238 years ago today one of the most important documents of our country was signed, The Declaration of Independence, which officially declared independence from the United Kingdom. 

To all who have or currently are in the armed forces: Thank you. Thank you for protecting everything we have. You are the true heroes of this country.

Our country has had it's ups and downs. Our government has been becoming worse and worse, but don't let that ruin your pride. Don't let the government be the face of your country, that's not what it's there for.

I hope everyone has a great time celebrating. I'll be spending most of my day at work, unfortunately.

Server Update

  • [Fixed]Stacker tool now matches VIP/Gold prop limits.
  • [Fixed]Not being able to buy an entity after it's been removed. You can now buy radios, microwaves, etc after they've been removed.

  • [Added]V3 of the current map. Download here. or from the server.
  • [Added]Prop spawn timer. Must wait 1 second between spawning props.
  • [Added]Laws for the mayor. Mayor can set laws in F4 -> Laws, and citizens can view them in F4 -> Laws. Laws are wiped when mayor resigns/is killed.
  • [Added]Ability to change org name. Costs $1k, you can allow someone else to change it in the permissions section of the org menu, and the button is at the bottom of the org menu.
  • [Added]/roll #. Max number is 100, minimum is 10. If the other player does not want to participate in rollplay, then don't do it.
  • [Added]New rule under 'General Roleplay':
    • No one is forced to rollplay(Use of /roll). If someone does not want to participate in /roll, then don't depend on it to resolve a RP situation.
  • [Added]Armor upgrade. Purchased from any gun dealer.
  • [Added]Brought back lottery. Mayor can activate it by typing "/lottery" or from the F4 menu.
  • [Added]NLR Zone. A marker on the world appears showing you where you died. Do not get near it or else you will respawn. It will display chat messages when you are near or when it is going to respawn you. Your NLR zone will disappear after 10 minutes and does not work on red harbor. Admins are able to remove the NLR zone if the situation is proven to ignore NLR.
  • [Added]Cleat/tie down entity. Purchase it from F4 -> Entities. Freeze it on the dock/near your boat, press E on it, and hit "Mount". Then press E on it and hit "Tie Boat". Anyone can untie the boat, but only the owner of the cleat can tie it down.
  • [Added]Admin stuff. Admins view it in the HRP admin board.
  • [Added]New weapon holdtype system. There are two modes: Passive and normal. Hold 'Reload' to switch between them.

Don't worry, the vehicle customization update will come soon, however I wanted to get these out as soon as I could to freshen up the gamemode a bit.

General Discussion / Memorial Day 2014 - Thank You, Armed Services

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the men and women who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the last Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.

While you are out BBQ'ing and partying today, remember the real reason why you have today off of school/work. Take a moment and thank those who risk their lives to protect us, or those who have but were killed doing so.

To those who have lost their lives while serving in the armed forces: Thank you. You have made the ultimate sacrifice and I will forever thank you. Rest in peace.

To those currently serving, have served, or are in training to server: Thank you. You are the heroes I have always looked up to as a kid.

Character Name: Ryan Wake

Age: 29 (1990)

Fatal Flaw/Defect:
Social interaction problems. Has trouble speaking with strangers, and at times doesn't say much.

CID: 13132

Physical Description: Ryan is a 6'0" male with a slim build. Ryan has short, brown hair and hazel eyes. He has multiple bruises on his body from an abusive father.

Mental State: Ryan is a smart, quiet man. He's the type of person that knows a little bit of everything, but specializes in mechanics and automobiles. He usually isn't much of a conversation starter.

Physical State: Ryan is perfectly healthy with the exception of multiple bruises around his body.

Background: Ryan was born on July 14, 1990 at 3 in the morning. His father has always called him a mistake and repeatedly told Ryan that the night he was born was the worst of his life. Ryan's father was a very abusive man, towards both Ryan and his mother. Ryan has never told anyone about his issues at home as it never affected his schoolwork, which was precious to him.

Throughout his teenage years Ryan didn't have many friends. He had a few that were close to him, but usually didn't have any social interaction after school. He always enjoyed working on cars but never received an allowance as a child, so had barely any money to purchase a car of his own. At 14 years old he was able to get a job at a local garage. There he furthered his knowledge of mechanics and kept the job through high school and trade school.

After graduating from high school, Ryan attended a local trade school to get certified as a mechanic. With his previous knowledge of vehicles, he was able to ace his courses and get certified in no time. He was able to work at the same garage for 6 years until the war took place. He was able to survive the war by locking himself in the oil changing area.

After the war took place, Ryan was assigned to City 14 where he made a couple of new friends, however was forced to leave them when he was reassigned to City 18.

Strengths - Skills/Traits: Hard worker, innovative, takes pride in his work.

Weaknesses: Shy, quiet, closed

The modpack we were using, Direwolf20, was using way too much of the server box's CPU so we had to shut it down.

To fix this issue, we're going to have to change modpacks. Please choose one of the options above. Note: If Ultimate is chosen and is causing issues with MCPC+ and the plugins, we'll add the mod pack with the second most votes.

Note that the worlds will not be saved because some things that Direwolf20 added to the world may not be in the the new mod pack, thus causing errors. I will try to save Creative.

The server is running on the Direwolf20 mod pack on Minecraft 1.6.4.

The server is running on the Direwolf20 mod pack using Minecraft version 1.6.4.

Download the FTB launcher from Open the launcher and start it up. Select "Direwolf20 1.6.4", create your profile, and click "Launch". It'll install everything for you.

Removed. You no longer have to apply due to the multiple worlds that the server has.

Multiverse(Multiple Worlds)
The server now has 3 worlds: PvP, Normal, and Creative.

PvP is a free for all world. If you want to live in constant fear or you're into fighting players, join this world. The LWC plugin is turned off, so be sure to hide your base and items carefully.

Normal world is a regular build world. PvP is off, however you are still responsible for protecting your items using LWC. You have no restrictions with LWC, so feel free to lock your stuff even if you're 1 foot away from the chest.

Pretty simple: Creative mode. It's a flat world, PvP is off, and everyone is set to creative mode.

Rules have been updated.

  • Treat all players with respect.
  • Never take matters into your own hands. If a player is breaking a rule, gather evidence and post a ban request here..
  • Do not hack and/or exploit. Use of any third party programs/objects is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban with no chance of appeal.
  • Do not ask admins for items. If an admin is caught giving you an item because you asked for it, both you and the admin will receive a long ban and the admin will be permanently demoted.

Small Server Update

[Added] Winter version of the current map. Download here
[Added] Flashlight. Can be purchased from the F4 menu under "Entity" for $250.
[Added] The ability to change your roleplay name. Talk to the Citizen NPC in the government building. It costs $15,000.
[Added] Due to the new rule regarding new players, when you look at a player it will display *NEW PLAYER* under their name if their playtime is less than 6 hours.
*The new rule can be found under General Server Rules. It states, "Do not target new players. If someone joins a server, spends their money on fishing gear, and gets it stolen 5 minutes later, do you think they're gonna keep playing? Probably not. Without new players HRP wouldn't exist."
[Fixed] Playtime counter. It now displays your correct playtime.

Don't worry, the vehicle customization update will come soon, however I wanted to get these out as soon as I could. The map has been out for a while, I just decided to add it to the changelog because I can.

Why HRP2?
HRP as it stands is almost 3 years old, and to be honest the code is old, outdated, inefficient, and messy. A fresh gamemode built from the ground up is what is needed for better, faster updates and performance. The current HRP isn't necessarily future proof, and that is one of the main goals of HRP2. Being able to add vehicles, NPCs, items, and other great parts of the gamemode with efficiency and speed will allow us to push out more updates with less bugs. Who doesn't like shiny new things, anyway?

Public Development
No, this does not mean the community will be contributing code. What this means is that a public HRP2 Development board will be available to the community so we can get valuable input on what players did and didn't like in HRP, along with what they would love to see in HRP2. Community input is vital for a successful gamemode and we can't wait to hear what everyone wants to see in HRP2!

What's Planned
Harbor Roleplay is a lite roleplaying gamemode, so the gamemode will still be derived from Sandbox(It will have Sandbox functions such as the spawn menu). We plan on adding a vast amount of features that have been suggested by the community for HRP1, however we would still love to hear what you guys would like added in HRP2.

There is no ETA as of yet. The gamemode has yet to begin development and both Nick and I have our fair share of work to finish on the current HRP servers. Why mention HRP2 if we have work to do on HRP1? Well, we want the community's input what HRP2 should be like. We want to begin planning ASAP.

Beta Test
There will more than likely be one, however whether it's VIP+ or open to everyone is unknown right now. We may start off with VIP+ for up to a week, then after that we can open it up to the community.

Vehicles, Inventories, Money, Etc
Gone. It is a completely new gamemode that will contain a bunch of new content. The gamemode will be created from the ground up, not an edited version the current HRP.

Harbor Roleplay 1
The current HRP servers will remain maintained, however updates will be slower and smaller than usual. We would like to devote a lot of our coding time to working on HRP2 so we can get it done promptly, however carefully with well written, efficient code. If a major bug or exploit pops up on the current HRP servers we will make that our top priority and get it fixed ASAP.

So now that the new day/night cycle is finished, a new map is coming out with it. This new map will have great improvements on FPS(According to Statua, and it seems like it to me). You can download it from the server, or download it from here.

The new day/night cycle has smoother transitions from day to night and night to dawn.

It's been a long time coming. Took me a while to figure out how HRP works and where everything was. Updates should be coming out more often with some pretty cool additions.

The server uses content from WAC Community Packs 1 and 4. You may download them from the workshop and you'll be fine.
