IC Character Name: Danny Adam Matthews
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Before the Resonance Cascade and events such as the Portal Storms the applicant Danny Matthews had not seen much good in the average people of his every day life. In his point-of-view, people from back then were only after power, the ability to control others. He worked for his boss and those above him in a simple office which sold paper to companies or regular people for low prices. His boss' manager was always controlling and manipulating Danny to do his simple yet annoying chores.
Chores such as writing replies to angry customers which had no other purpose than complain and asking for a refund which couldn't be given or staying up late and forced to work overtime when he would rather be at home watching TV with a nice cold bottle of beer.
Building up a hate for people such as the manager he wanted to actually work for the good cause....
When the combine eventually took over after the portal storms in the famous 'seven hour war' Danny saw the Combine as his saviors. They were here to remove humans from having too much power and being controlled by human greed, the combine educated humans on how to be social. Danny felt different, everyone felt different with this change but Danny felt like this was his chance to 'actually work for the good cause'.
Since the 'seven hour war' event in 2015. Danny had about a year to make up his mind about applying and attempting to join the Combine Civil-Authority. After having seen several 'Anti-Citizens' trying to harm others because they couldn't keep up with these changes of them not having power, his wanting to apply became bigger and he decided to write the executives. Besides him helping society he wouldn't have to worry about his stomach growling at him for not eating, as the propaganda says Combine Civil-Authority are well-fed.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Danny Matthews has always been pushed around, he can 'figure' when to shut up and when to speak and how to keep his 'boss' satisfied. He has build up a lot of 'inner peace' over the course of his life to prevent him from 'snapping' and doing something horrible, you can consider him as a peaceful guy who is 'trustworthy'.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.Well, for me it would be a great step into the more limited serious roleplaying. I have been doing some serious roleplaying at one of the 'cracked' World of Warcraft servers, Divinity-X. Half-Life 2 Roleplay is limited to the Half-Life:2 Canon. In Divinity-X you could shift through phases and discover what the owner of the phase had set up for kind of roleplay, whether it is medieval or futuristic.
The experience for my character would sincerely expand to bigger levels as he does what he had always had sought for, doing things for the good cause, for the collaboration of the Universal Union. Even though they do show power and rankings in the Combine Civil-Authority he has accepted that there will always be some kind of lust within humans and he himself has wanted to have a piece as well. Maybe joining the Combine Civil-Authority was because he wanted to have power over citizens, maybe it wasn't...
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words. One day before the 'Seven Hour War'
It was another late night in which he had worked hard and done what his boss wanted him to do, he finished wrapping up his last e-mail and clicked on the button 'send'. He then turned off his computer and went to the garage, as he stepped in his car he turned on the radio, driving back home to his apartment. As it wasn't the first time weird things such as the Portal Storms occurred he didn't show much interest in the radio broadcast and turned it off, not knowing what they were trying to warn him from...
He didn't live far away from his office, so it wouldn't have taken him long too arrive at his home, it was later than usual because of morons driving like they were possessed. When he opened his apartment door he turned on his television and grabbed a cold beer from the fridge. 'Zapping' through channels he was distracted by the most annoying sound there is, the EMS (Emergency Broadcasting System).
As he read what the broadcast said, something about the portal storms being wider and bigger than they should be he didn't really bother too much with it as they have been going on for awhile now. He decided to go lie in bed and try to sleep, as he was tired and there wasn't anything good on the TV.
His experience of the 'Seven Hour War'
He was woken up by very loud emitting sounds and a female voice talking about some kind of priority identification check. He initially thought he had left the television on but then he heard knocking on the door. He tried to wake up casually but the door was knocked in and he was rushed by several police officers. Everything that happened from there on was black, he didn't remember it, he was blacked out. Then as he regained consciousness he woke up in a blue jumpsuit, feeling a terrible ache in his head he wondered what had happened. Then he looked down to see what he was wearing and he read a tag on his jumpsuit which said, C45-#27116... That was the new Danny Matthews, 27116.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?I remember gathering around on World of Warcraft in 'Thunderbluff' which was the capital city of the Tauren race. There was a group of Taurens gathered up with a bunch of 'Trolls' which are a race as well, not actual internet-trolls. Other races of the horde may have been there as well just to observe the roleplay, not to actually play along, I came to the circle to observe because there was this commotion in general chat about it and there were these trolls with these Jamaican accents and some may have been doing some stereotypical jokes (weed and reggae). Then there were these two alpha-males who kept shouting at each other about who is better, then they started to dual. Only in a dual it's purpose is to win the fight, this dual, however, was a roleplaying dual and it seemed like a set-up, they didn't just fight each other, they did some shouting at each other and did hits in turns. It was really fun and well performed, I can't properly explain it in a limited box of text..
