I do like Rammstein.  Nine Inch Nails is meh, but other than that I'm not that big of an Industrial fan.

Not sure if this is DayZ or not.  Still, another scary-ass Arma 2 mod:

I like to listen to music to get me in the mood of a bleak environment with no hope of escape:

I sit with Purple

I felt I would put in my two cents in this thread.  Firstly, I agree whole-heartedly with you, Klashy.  More needs to be done about the incursion of minges.  If you wish to sound overly dramatic, you could say our server is under siege from players who seemingly join it just to troll us.  More needs to be done to improve the RP environment in general, and many of the CCA High Command, myself included, have started cracking down on unprofessional behavior within our ranks.

Secondly, the CCA and minges.  In response to Lawdee, the CPs are not robots.  I see units acting unprofessionally in-character up to 01.  It is when they receive augments that they lose their humanity and become terminators.  Inserting the argument between Atticat and Moon, as a NOVA unit, it seems like I am called upon every second to deal with some strange virus or insanity.  When I write them off as being a minge, more and more people take up the RP, and soon we have an impromptu event so convoluted, that the only way to end it is an admin order.  As for actually dealing with the strong citizens, I frankly just void it.  If the CCA started to implement a no-tolerance policy towards strong minges, it would be like the Brazilians sending in a full army to sweep the Favela.  There would be so many lawbreakers, that CPs and admins together wouldn't be able to handle all of them.

Thirdly, a HUGE problem on our server right now is people making "muscled" players.  People need to realize that you're not thin because of muscle, but because of malnutrition.  You think there are MREs in those rations you get every so often?  NOPE!  They're nutrient supplements, like those multivitamins you took as a child:  They sure as hell don't fill your stomach, but they do give you enough nutrients to survive another day.  This does not include energy.  Saying that you work out, which is how your got muscled, won't fly.  You need protein to build muscle, and the amount of protein in those supplements (IF there is protein in them) is minute to the point of negligibility.  The only time I will tolerate this is if you have structured your diet COMPLETELY off of non-UU food.  Speaking of UU food, that stuff isn't much better for you than the supplements.  Imagine McDonald's meets Tofurky:  You have no idea what it is, but whatever it is, it isn't turkey, and it definitely isn't healthy.

Finally, in response to Teh Caek, sure, we could just post ban requests, but who the hell is going to post a ban request on someone who they saw dragging a body around on the street?  Assuming that people always have fraps at the ready to post a ban request is as idiotic as assuming that admins are always online and at the ready.  You guys have as much a life as we do, and this thread is a think tank on how to put a bandaid on the damage that minges are doing to the RP until an admin can get on to rectify it fully.

If I had the patience to actually sit for hours animating a single scene, I would be more excited for this.  Unfortunately, I can only cry myself to sleep knowing that the best I could probably do would be this:

Also, the Meet the Pyro trailer was absolutely a kick in the balls; not that it was horrible and Valve butchered they character, but I will never look at the Pyro the same way again  :o

General Discussion / Re: Rebels or 'Groups'
« on: June 26, 2012, 03:04:08 PM »
Adding on to what Lone Wanderer said, there are key differences between rebels and resistance fighters.  Rebels openly defy the powers that be and often instigate violence.  A resistance is more of a shadowy force that hides amongst the populace, sabotaging something and then returning to their secret base to watch for a reaction.  Resistance fighters also have more than just themselves in mind, often allocating many of their resources towards helping the oppressed, non-combatant populace.

Also adding on to what Nicknero has said, the "rebels" in D6/P3 are nothing more than criminals IMHO.  They are neither rebels, who would openly engage in hostilities with the CCA, or resistance, who would have their mind on bringing hope to their fellow citizens and vortigaunts.  Instead, as nicknero said, most of the people with guns in D6/P3 are self-serving power mongers who think that a gun symbolically gives them divine right to act as if they are playing GTA.  I haven't been in D6/P3 in forever, so I have very little right to speak of this, but I have heard many complaints along this line, and it seems as though very little is being done about the quality of RP there.

A never knew such a thing as a gameboy existed until circa 2004 when some guy brought one in to the summer day camp I was at.  That sums up my childhood  :'(

I love the part about Origin but i did not get the Symbolism behind how it plowed over Steam what was it trying to say there?

I didn't get it much either, but after reading the description, I believe it had something to do with how EA backstabbed Valve and Steam and absolutely brushed them aside with their forceful marketing.

I have no problem with citizens with guns, my problem is with citizens who have guns and wave them in people's faces as if the gun gives them a holy right to rule over the citizens.  I think the CCA should take weapons more seriously.  As in, if a citizen talks about someone with a gun in D6, a COTA raid team should be sent in.  Even though this will instantly be shot down, I never saw a citizen with a gun in the city in Half Life 2 (Except Gordon Freeman, and you can see how the CPs reacted to that).

General Discussion / Re: Total war games?
« on: June 22, 2012, 07:19:20 PM »
Total War is the best RTS I have ever played, hands down.  I own Medieval 2 w/Kingdoms and Empire: Total War.  I have yet to play Shogun 2, but it looks like they ironed out everything.  Medieval 2 was awesome, but the AI was god like at times and the gameplay was overly complex.  Empire was better in turns of simplification and it introduced several new features like interactive naval battles.  However, what pissed me off most was they got rid of agent mission videos as well as the ability to take prisoners and ransom them off.  Also, what my other friends who owned the game hated about it was the AI was too easy (If you had an island, they would never invade it.)  After playing the demo for Shogun 2, it does look really good, but my comp can barely run Empire so....yeah X(
