Quick suggestion.
Most modern police departments employ more than 2 vehicles for patrol officers, so... Yeah.
Just add the Sickness Vapid with the old Evo City Police Department (the black skin), but edit the texture so it says Rockford PD.

Ah now I understand. Well I was thinking about a police suv using the ford explorer. It would probably be for gold where the charger is for vip. It would be slower but heavier so.
Thoughts on that?

That's actually a really good idea. I've always wanted an SUV police car to use. It's added weight and durability would be necessary for some interesting tactics.

Works for me. I really wanna see the Vapid make a comeback, but an SUV would be pretty cool too.

Like the others said, add a SUV, don't add in vapid for it is old model and does not fit well with new TDM cars. Add in the TDM dodge charger with custom police skin and lights. Then, replace the current swat van with the TDM GMC Vendura with a swat skin on it. This would be so cool.

The whole point of SWAT vans is having an armored response vehicle to insert tactical teams. Using the GMC Vandura would be pointless, and the SWAT skin for it is only there for the lols.

The SUV would be a nice addition. The skin for it though will be the biggest thing to look at: TDM SUV skins are far and wide (theres a lot)

The SGM Ford Explorer has a police skin as well as a push bar and 2 different types of light bars. Thats most likely what we would use.

How would that be dumb? They use vans similar to this in current police departments, atleast where I live. And it has armor, enough armor to deflect small arms fire of course.

That livery is the livery that Ford put on as a generic design when they were first marketing the Ford Taurus and Explorer police cruisers. We should have the same livery for all Rockford police vehicles, as it only makes sense. But yes, to get a new skin on the Explorer, we need a template from SGM.

Shouldn't be too hard, just tell him you're from CG via Steam. Wake learned how to apply skins to existing models, so we should be good.

Depends on what year the Rockford version of OCRP will be set in. I, for one, think it should have a Rockford Police Department livery, as should the CV and the Dodge. The CV still says Seacrest County Generic Police and the Dodge still says Evo City Police Department.

Had the idea for the new dodge charger in TDM for either secret service vehicle, or for undercover police or something, you can find skins for it. And had the idea for the mustang as gold member police car.

This would be good for a new SS car, but it would be shit for a police patrol vehicle seeing as to how it has 2 doors rather than 4, no anti-criminal meshing in the back seats, etc etc.

Also the new charger is perfict for SS, make sure it is not straight black though, random colors and along side being able to be baught from the car dealer, just a lot slower then the SS version.

Patrol vehicles need to be able to arrest suspects. If the car doesn't have easily accessible back seats that also provide protection to the officers, it can't be used. Find a 4-door sedan. In the meantime, the current Charger model doesn't even need to be changed. It's fine.
As for that Charger, if it didn't have a sport spoiler, it'd make a great SS car.

The new charger has body groups, you can take th spoiler off, or replace it with regular one. IT looks nicer, and it has a front brush gaurd like regular police cruisers do.

So regulars get the CVPI, VIP+ gets the Charger, and Gold alone gets the Explorer. Am I correct?
EDIT: Let's not make this like the Charger in that you get it for donating but it still sucks balls. Let's make the Explorer actually good to use, like the old Sickness Cavalcade but faster and able to turn tighter, whilst at the same time retaining the ability to stick to the road like glue.

The cvpi should be maneuverable. The charger should be fast. And the explorer should be strong and heavy so it can ram shit. We dont want op cars.

IRL CVPI's can go over 130 MpH. Dunno what this translates to on OCRP's speedometer, but the cop cars should actually be able to chase the high-end cars instead of flashing their sirens a couple of times and instantly being evaded.
The Charger is fine as-is. Not much needed to change it other than new textures.
The Explorer should be a good balance of weight, speed and maneuverability.

I am gold member would so would I only be able to use the explorer or would I be able to pick out of the three like in OCRP1.5 and 2 where you could pick between the vapid and the charger?

This sounds good to me, although for the sake of a balance of maneuverability and speed, I'd likely start driving the Charger assuming it doesn't just crash you into a wall as soon as you tap W. I, again, assume that Stevo will be editing its handling script?

I will never understand the want for the GTA 4 Vapid. It wasn't that good of a model to start with and portrays a very old type of police car that is less common these days. The Charger, Crown Victoria, and the SUV, are not only accurate but seem better than having nothing but cars. Especially since we are going to have a beach.

People like it because with the original handling script, it was better than the current CVPI and with modern OCRP as-is, it feels nostalgic to see. The vapid "portrays" a Crown Victoria, so if that's your argument here, by your logic we should remove the Crown Vic as well.
As for the Charger and Explorer, they're fine.
