It seems everyone has a phobia. It would be interesting to see what everyone is afraid of and maybe a reason on why they think they have it. Just a silly thread, I suppose. I'll start off.
I'm a huge a huge germaphobe, although the fear only affects things that have to do with food, body fluids, and hands. I can't touch a plate if it has someone else's food on it. I also can't share food or drinks (which can also be related to the body fluid thing) and I won't eat anything that looks raw. It may of came from an event that happened when I was little. I saw a show on TV where a kid ate a raw burger and almost died. For years I would never eat meat that had even a hint of pink in it. I've gotten past that, but I'm still wary of uncooked food. The body fluid thing is basically the germs that come from, well, body fluids. I'll evacuate a room if someone doesn't cover their sneeze and stuff like that. I also hate shaking hands because I just imagine the little germs crawling all over me when I touch them.
I'm also kinda afraid of blood and the dark. I slept with a night light up until I was around 13 or 14.
If you're maybe drawing a blank or just want to look, here's a list of phobias. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_phobias)

I honestly don't have many fears in the irrational regard. Most of my fears are based on reasonable happenings. i only have two notable phobias.
Apiphobia – fear/dislike of bees
This also counts towards wasps. I am very afraid of those things. I know bees don't mess with you unless you mess with them, but I'm traumatized from elementary school after I got stung pretty bad.
Secondly, I don't see it on the phobia list, but I also have a fear of walking over sewer grates and manholes. I don't know why, but I always feel like one day one of those things will give out when I step on it and I'll fall in, so whenever I see one, I walk around it.

It seems I share the dislike of bees with Sexy Frog. I usually go inside or find a totally insuspicious reason to go somewhere else. I love summer, minus bees. Not that I'd go into panic when a bee flies by, I just don't like them and try to avoid them anyhow possible.
I used to be afraid of spiders - but I don't really care anymore. I'd obviously get worried about spiders like this (http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTTUfrmxFszK-tX9qT4pv8l9PaT9Q6-_7HP6q52DQYynInChgnd) but no spiders like that live over here.
Heights too. When I'm alone on some watchtower or so, it's alright. When it's a crowded place though, I always get nervous, if there's a slightest chance of me falling out - such as, high areas with low railing or transparent elevators (it's made of glass you know!!1!)
-
I have a massive fear of mind altering drugs. Thoe being the obvious like LSD, laughing gas, cocian, weed, ect.. I suppose the fear comes from me being a control freak, I hate not being able to control things.
First and biggest example of this fear I can remember is when I was told in one of my health classes in middle school that drug addicts would sometimes put LSD on stickers to get it into them. I have not worn any stickers to this day due to that statement, just in case.

You are one scared S.O.B. Although not sure "fear of bad breath" belongs in quite the same category as "fear of hell". I would be interested in hearing the story of how you developed a few of the fears on your list or your reasoning behind having them. Especially psychophobia, taphophobia, and halitophobia. If its not too personal please do share. :D

believe it or not, a large collection of these fears began in one day. I can explain it as simply as this:
Stayed at a cousin's house, slept alone in this dark ass room.
I dreamt I got shot, but was still alive. Buried alive at the funeral.
Sunk through the ground and fell into hell.
Once I got there, the emanciated bodies had the most terrible breath. And it was ridicously hot in there.
They were all crazy as fuck and tried to rip at my flesh, but luckily, I some how magically transported to these plains of fields of flowers.
Then I woke up and I literally pissed myself because the room was dark and hot (down in the country w/ no AC). So I thought I was there for real. But my cousin opened the door and I felt better. But I was four so it kinda scarred me.
The love one is just due to a large string of girls I dated. The pussy was nice, but when they started to get too close, gotta break it off.
And each time I did, some drama shit that usually ended up in a fight between me and some new boy went down. I hated it and each time I would get into a relationship, that would happen. So i'm afraid of getting expelled or arrested due to love. Fear of love developed.
There's yo explanations.

I died of laughter. Anyway, I am terrified of bugs, any type of fucking bug comes near me or lands on me, I go crazy.

I've never understood the fear of bees myself, as I actually have an avid interest apiculture and want to raise bees and shit. Never been afraid of them.
Merinthophobia- Fear of being bound or tied up.
Hadephobia- Fear of hell.
Batophobia- Fear of heights or being close to high buildings.
And I hate being lost, it makes me feel sick and I can't stand it.

Merinthophobia? Your picture suggests otherwise. Probably because I missed the context of it.
As for Hadephobia... **WARNING: This is going to be a little painful for Catholics/ect** But I am a firm believer that there is no such thing. And therefore you have no reason to fear it.

Phobias are all irrational fears of something, so Hadephobia is no weirder than any other ones listed here. Logically speaking, someone who fears the dark probably knows that no monster is hiding in the darkness to eat him, and someone who fears heights probably knows that if tall buildings were a huge safety risk, precautions would have been taken. Despite logical reasoning, the fear still exhists, so all fears have little to no reasonable basis, yet exhist anyways.
Also, Hadephobia could also potentially refer to simply a fear of karma, and that negative actions you perform could cause you pain and suffering down the road. Although that's more of a stretch.
Finally, you haven't posted YOUR phobias yet Dallas. You should get on that. :D

That's based around trust, and the knowledge I can get out if I ever need to.
I'm a straight-up atheist but I went through a phase of deep-reflection over the last year, teetering on the edge of self-destruction, so naturally I pondered hell a lot. The idea of it is terrifying.
IF anything, I only have one phobia, and this of hell. The others stem from a real cause and/or are logical.

**Sorry dutch people, this is real. i have this***DUTCHPHOBIA - FEAR OF DUTCH PEOPLE (this happened when I got drivin over by a Dutch man. The man was drunk. I drove on my bicycle and this car comes smashing into my bicycle, the first thing he says: "Is the car alright?"
PHOBOPHOBIA - THE FEAR OF DEVELOPING A PHOBIA :)

PHRONEMOPHOBIA - FEAR OF THINKING (...I THINK I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WITH THIS)

Arachnophobia – fear of spiders
A big one too. Started when I was about five or six, and my cousin threw my teddy bear into the near by bushes of their back yard. They live in a really shitty place, and I went to grab it because I loved it. As soon as I was looking around for it I couldn't find it, and looked over the fence. I instantly came eye to eye with a huge spider. I nearly shat myself there, and ran off. Never found the teddy that day, and my parents went to look for it but didn't find it o7. But yeah coming eye to eye with the spider scared the shit out of me as it was huge. It might have been my imagination or something of the sort but I hate spiders. I get worried, and nervous even thinking about them.

Sucks for you guys that are afraid of bees n spiders. I remember I use to pinch bees in a certain way that if they tried to sting me, it would just hit my finger nail so I wouldn't get hurt. I'd then torture them and shit just for fun. It was a lot of fun 8)

You know there's actually a term for that, that trends in serial killers. Most serial killers torture animals as a kid/teen, before moving onto a serial killer. They call it acceleration. (Learned that from a book I read a while back called "Acceleration" It's a good read.) Just putting that one out there.
Not saying you're going to be a serial killer, just thought someone might care to know.
Lol, that's funny because my friends say that I'm going to grow up and become a serial killer.

Sociopaths don't tend to be serial killers, they tend to be one time violent offenders if anything. Sociopaths generally have anger problems and lack the subtlety to actually pull off multiple murders before being aprehended. So you're more likely to be a rapist or assault someone Cow, so don't worry.
Not that any of this has anything to do with phobias.

I already do that; getting into fights with people at school haha

Hemophobia- Fear of blood.

Wow you guys are weird with your phobias what a bunch of wimps AHAHAHHA
Nah, just kidding. I swear, being scared of some things are so irrational. I think I'm afraid of the dark, or just being afraid of the unknown. Sometimes when it's dark in my house, I have to rush to my room and get under my covers. I'll be telling myself "now, that's so irrational, there are no monsters" while at the same time I'm like "can't get in my house, I go to my room and a force field goes up, I get in my bed and they are all sent to Canada, and my covers mean they're all dead forever." It makes no sense, but my brain goes through that anytime. And it only happens at night. If its 12 or 1 am, I'm fine. I guess cause I consider that morning and not night.
Also, when I was little I couldn't touch the floor of my room because I was scared the skeleton living under my bed would grab my ankles and pull me under. That meant that I used my foot to open far away drawers and I jumped out of my room and ran every time I wanted to leave it. Damn skeleton.

Damn I had the same thing was I was little too...I still hate the dark a bit. I believe it's not a fear of monsters really. Saying it's monsters is just a simple way of saying it's something other than what I think it is. I think it's mostly for the fact that you know there is nothing out there it's complete logic. It's mostly of what /could/ happen. One night I woke up at about 3AM in my room hearing growling under the bead. Wasn't my imagination because I thought it was, and stood up. As soon as I stood up my feet got slashed with about 4 paws of my two cats having a mexican stand off at my feet. Scared the shit out of me. Okay with it now.

I had problems like that too, but I just told myself if there was something that I'd beat the shit outta it, so eventually I just got over it. Find ways to just trick your mind, that's what I did.

I have a phobia living in a Totalitarian state, I don't know what its called though.
-
I've never had a fear of the dark, I've always found it comforting compared to blaring light. I also have photosensitive eyes, which is probably one of the reasons why; nothing I hate more than being blinded.

Heres some of mine
Slight arachnophobia (fear of spiders)
Minor claustrophobia (fear of tight spaces/having no escape) - Occurs only when in small spaces for a long time
Slight gerascophobia (fear of growing old) - Due to other things, not really the aging part itself
Slight lipophobia (fear/avoidance of fats in food) - Only visible fats like on steaks and shit
Minor ophthalmophobia (fear of being stared at) - Kinda like claustrophobia, makes me feel like the walls are closing in
Major trypanophobia (fear of needles/injections) - Makes me physically shake when confronted about it. Can generally calm myself, but spend time actually avoiding needing to
Slight taphephobia (fear of the grave/fear of being placed in a grave while still alive) - Pretty sure this is common, mostly the secont part
Slight ophidiophobia (fear/dislike of snakes)
There are a few more, but dunno the terms for em.
-
Like griff,
Major trypanophobia (fear of needles/injections) - Makes me physically shake when confronted about it.
And bee's
-
i only have 1 proper fear:
Apiphobia - fear of bees, also extends to wasps and hornets since they look like bees/wasps
