Title: Debate Board
Post by: tics on November 26, 2011, 02:59:03 PM: Recently, I've realized that there seems to be an increasingly growing number of people in CG that actually give a shit about the real world, and enjoy debating about it. So I think we should have a debate board, and someone who can be trusted and has an interest in debating should be the moderator.

....social discussion is there so emotional people can complain about their horrible lives. Apologies for being blunt, but that's what it truly is.

A debate board would be for discussion of politics and other issues, and while I see the connection you're making between the two, I think it's necessary they be separate.

Help moderate it. Debates usually turn into arguments faster than people can watch so I don't mind helping watch over it.

Post by: JF on November 26, 2011, 06:30:34 PM: On paper it's a good idea. In practice however, it will probably be a massive argument section. Not to be offensive, but most people at CG are not mature enough to carry on an adult debate of any subject.

I think if we do decide to get a 'Debate' section then it should be HEAVILY moderated. No trolls, no little kids and ESPECIALLY no derailing or going off topic. Nothing other than an adult, mature section.
