Title: Permission to have hand-to-hand combat?
Post by: 429ghost on October 23, 2011, 11:30:06 AM
(first off, I hope it's ok if I ask this here instead of the shoutbox, it'd be better to explain here.)

So last night, my character got himself in a confrontation with two anti-loyalists. My character made a move that he learned in the Marines. Now before you start saying "The Marines?? Wouldnt your character have died in the Seven Hour War?" My character is an ex-Marine. He was retired long before the war happened. Four years active in Iraq, four years inactive living in Brooklyn. The entire Marine thing is part of the story connecting him to his brother Mathew Farmer(by the way, my character's name is John Farmer) whom he made the decision with to go to the Marines after High School. They fought in Iraq together. Mathew was given an offer to be part of the HECU, so was John but he declined it, and that was the last John saw of Mathew. Now the anti-loyalists(in OOC) said that I couldnt do that until I get permission, so here I am.

According to CG's canon, it doesn't matter if you were active or retired or whatever...

Supposedly, all persons with a military background were executed, stalkerfied, etc

What if my character kept it a secret?

Why would he have? Plus, all of that kind of thing is recorded somewhere. They would know anyway, I think.

government records, they know all

unless you're part of some deep-cover black-ops deniable-activities special-forces team and you "don't exist," your character left an extensive paper trail wherever he went, whatever he did.

Ok you know I'm gonna ask you this: what if my character was in the black ops thing and 'didnt exist'?
