Title: Change away from City45

Basically:

Karma broke areaportals and RDT
(Area portals going to the plaza from the CWU HQ are broke i get 2 FPS when  i got 40FPS before)

And charges around 15-56 Tokens for props

Now i cant RP can we go back to City11 or City8? or maybe another map.

This map is trash. It dosnt let us do anything we could with any of the other maps. C8 Please :D

I prefered how it used to be too. I get lag on C45 from the broken areaportals, the server lags often from the map and crashes from reliable snapshot overflow. RDT doesn't even work properly, it was painful to even use and even when it was offline, doors kept randomly opening inside it and the machine was being derpy and weird.

I preferred C18 to this map, or even C11, as I hardly see any RP on C45 due to the sheer size of the map.

I myself loved C45 and it brings back so many memories, so can we get karma or any other editor to fix the issues after the switch?
I cannot complain about the prop costs and I thought it was a good idea to prevent prop use unless it was really needed.
I never really got any lag in the area portals, so I have no comment about them.
And the RDT.... It took us 5 minutes to work a single ration cycle of about 6 or 7 people, the machine is derped so can't an editor just delete everything in there and instead just use a small door like on RDTs of times past?

I love C45 and always will, but I agree the issues should be fixed before we use the map 24/7.

C45 is a good map for sure, but for all the reasons listed above I think we need to go back to C18 or C11. Also the prop cost is okay for people like me who have a salary so they can use alloted props, but anyone who hasen't donated is going to have a lot of trouble using props to rp at all.

I loved city45 but i knew it couldnt be fixed cause the copy we had was decompiled-recompiled-decompiled-recompided.  If everything was(could) be fixed id like it.

But for the love of Mary and jesus remove prop costs or allow CWU/CCA spawn them with no cost this is ridiculous.  I dont got 30k tokens to waste.(I do)

Also the ENT count is still terribly high.  This is why props are scarce and you RSO at 30 people with almost no props spawned.

RTLK obviously wasn't thinking when he changed the maps.

Walked around in my Cafe and all of a suddon everything vanished.  Still shadows of them but event he ent doors vanished!  This map must be changed.

RSO 10 times while joining. Have to pay for props once im in to help new player or provide services, Lag like fuck while i walk from anywhere to the plaza. I don't think the benefits outweigh the losses.

I like this map as well, but I'd suggest Karma to fix the areaportals and RDT. Then, no reason not to leave it.

Cant be fixed, maps been decompiled/recompiled a million times to the point if we make more edits it breaks.

Also its been more minges.

I don't have a single error on C45. I don't get lag spots, nor do I have missing textures. Perfectly fine for me.

This... it crashed during a huge 8 person CWU meeting.  And that pissed me off.  I cant RP if RTLK picks the map that will crash when it gets overexcited.  :(

I've experienced multiple crashes due to map related issues, including for the first time in which it kicked me from the server and I could not join until l sorted the issue on my end. Tbh, the map is shite. Heaps of gaps left un-textured, poor layout, ugly nexus and most importantly... So many god damn minges that it's attracted.

I'm currently doing my best to get Retro working on the map constantly and he has done a fair bit, but his motivation lies within a thread dedicated for his map as he wants to sort it out and make it organised.

Area portals are the main issues with all the crashing according to some people.
Also I think it might help to cut down on the static props in the map.

For prop costs, well, all of you have been saying
"OmG No prozpp I KANT RPPP!!!" 
What I say to that: i have been playing on both of my characters CP and Rebel, and have not needed to spawn a single prop
Also, I havent been getting lag more than on any other map.
So yeah.

The payment system makes perfect sense.
It is supposed to make people think "Hey, do I really need this extra couch?" before they spawn it.
It makes people spawn them only if they really need them, if it is too expensive however, I can see sense in making them cheaper.

Paying tokens for props was something caused in the update which wasn't intended to happen. Should be fixed when the server comes back online.

I think we should either get of City 45 or at least make it less laggy for people. I go on that and I cannot stand in the plaza for awhile without feeling a huge drop in FPS. Not only that, but I have crashed quite a few times on this server. This may not have been caused by the map, but it's always a plausible idea since I crash while in the plaza.

City 45 is a good map though, just laggy and causes me to crash. I have no other complaints against it.

That and it's too dark and miserable. (Like all the other HL2RP maps)

I agree, I think City 45 should either be modified or just get a new map. I mean City 45 is great in all, but I really want the slums to be larger. I mean, the slums is a great place to RP as a citizen. City 8 and City 11 have great examples of these.

Just finished looking here (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Entity_limit) - ent limits.

As of current, entdata is around the 150% mark - far better than my original 200%.

According to the article, there's a total limit of 4096 ents split into two. One side is non-networked, the rest is client-server shared.
I am assuming a majority is shared, so trimming will have to take place.

I think this thread is pretty much obsolete now. The new version is excellent, my FPS has excelled into the 200s at some points.
