if you (clearly) dont have a budget, dont get an AMD, its worth splashing out for an i5/i7

also get an ATI card

Thats exactly what i was thinking. I pretty much know fuck all about CPU's but i do know Intel are a shitload better than AMD.
I use an AMD dual core and it's newer than my brothers Intel, but his CPU is better than mine.

Go with Intel.

It's an AMD-only deal. About the SLI/Double cards, I've got an nVidia 9500 laying around. So those are covered. I'd rather stick with nVidia, too.

No, it's customized. What's wrong with it and why are you all putting me down for not getting 3l1t3 1nt3lz or @t1?

Code: [Select]
Define your definition of "Pre-built."Fuck, code. Also, I don't trust you smt. You sound like you don't know what you're talking about.

dont trust me then idc

the rig int he image is better as well as saving about 200 dollars, thats one reason of why prebuilt (parts being built at the company, pc shipped already built hence >pre< built) is shit

You're better off with Intel than AMD. My one and only AMD that I've ever had is my current laptop. It's not bad for the price, but for a computer, Intel is the right choice.

As for the graphics card, the 580 is great. However, to get better performance with possibly less money, I'd say get to 470s or 460s and run in SLI. If you don't plan on doing that (as it is best to run the same two cards in SLI rather than a 580 + 9500), a 590 might be a better choice considering you're already paying a high amount of money to begin with.

the cards need to be the same to sli else you'll get bottlenecking and it becomes worthless, better to buy two lower price cards and sli them than put a higher end card sli'd with a cheaper one

He can't afford a 590, they are about 500 quid or so.
Title: Re: Getting a new rig. Comments?
Post by: Bromine on July 30, 2011, 12:04:45 PM
The 590 isn't available, I mightn't SLI considering the 9500 always had problems with me.

nividia 9500 is what i had untill it made my graphics drivers crash, never going with nividia again i've always had problems with their cards

I've only had 2 problems, being the driver crashes on win7 and a 7600's... Fluid things basically blew up.

If suggest an ATI card if you don't want an 700 watt station causing your electric bill to go up and choose AMD for quadcores

What are you going to do with 2 x 1TB? I never understood how anyone could possibly fill up that much.

I was working on it and I've redacted the 2nd drive, saving some dosh.
It will have liquid cooling, too.

IMO, it's a waste of money for an i7. An i5 is more than enough for gaming. Unless you're running a big business, the i7 isn't worth it.

Just buy it. The only opinions you're going to get in here onwards are "BUY PARTS CHEAPER THAN PRE-BUILT" and "ATI / NVIDIA IS BAD GET NVIDIA / ATI"
Title: Re: Getting a new rig. Comments?

Build it.

Funny that you say that, I've been reading up on building and I could do it, but I'm fully illiterate as to getting each part, and cables. And paste.
