Title: The Return... Of GMR!
Post by: Scratchie on July 08, 2011, 11:31:49 PM
I am bringing back GMR.  But I need the public opinion.

Should we do a reset and start everyone fresh?  I think so but I want to know what you all think!

I've never tried out GMR before, but I'd be very willing to say yes since I have wanted to see what you do on it.

No :c

I'm going on vacation in a couple of days and if it's reset, I'm going to be so far behind.

Wut is GMR?

And we SHOULD do a restart. And those whitelisted to factions(except the leaders, DvLs, and such) should start out as Citizens and make new applications. Flags should stay sense it's really a "trust" thing.

Kiru cant read...

Anyways brining back gmr will be a waste of space.  Be popular for 3 days then die out again. Like 2 other servers we have.

You mean like Minecraft and Deathrun?

Minecraft is fine it's still getting it's kicks.

Harbor and deathrun

Harbor like every DarkDM server eventually gets fucking boring and deathmatching begins. In our case that and OCRP killed it.

Deathrun had a lot of effort put into it. But it never got players.

Okay, I never played harbor before so I didn't even think about joining it (saw some vids for it on youtube, glad I didn't waste the hard drive space, not very good for me :P) but I'd be more than happy to join the deathrun server, it's just that nobody ever gets on it. I do get on Minecraft though so I guess I shouldn't have asked that being one of the options since it did get about 15 people on at one night.

IMO, OCRP killed everything a bit, even HL2RP a sliver. But since I never tried GMR, I'm not sure. Haven't tried Deathrun either, but again, I'm sure both gamemodes would be good.

No.
Reason: All the players that didn't stick to CG when GMR stopped getting players would lose all of their stuff and decide its not worth it and play some were else.

Any one who played 0m3ga GMR would know what I am talking about.

Yes but FNGs like me have fair races, if you want to re-populate it. The new guys should be able to win. Else they'll just go. That's how it started in the first place.

The thing is, not many people got high anyway, but some put huge effort in or got it for a reason( like me). Perhaps just do 40/50k starting money for some time? Do a few competitions, etc where people win money and quizzes, etc.

(Raiden gave me gmr money due to me making the uca logos.I didn't ask him to, he did. I also helped him fix something.)

I think we should have one server for more experienced players, and not reset items on that. We should have a second server for the newer players, where everything is reset and weapons are disabled. That way, the inexperienced players can be satisfied that they are learning the game where nobody has an advantage. The experienced players can be satisfied that they still have all the stuff they've worked hard for.

Even further, some sort of level system that grants you experience points per race. Once you get to a certain level, you would be referred to the experienced server.

If we do that, the servers would get even more unpopulated? Instead of 10 on one server it would be like 5 on each. Then again it could get even more popular so I don't know.

Advantages in GMR kill it, I think there should be a reset what every month, two months?

Nobody would get high enoguh like that, and nor would be motivated knowing of a reset.

Maybe leave everything as it is and let people work hard like the people that are already maxed out had to do.
