Well tonight I was on the fourms ( for fun) and noticed how many people complain about people now wanting to help other new people / new people not knowing what to do. Well with the quiz why not code in a required/ optional animated video about the Do's and Dont's of HL2RP! Its worth a shot. It could be about...5-10 minutes long and it would be great!

In my opinion this is a great idea, it's an optional alternative from newbs asking a lot of stuff in OOC or just newbs failRP'ing, wouldn't hurt anything from what I know. Or, if not a video, atleast have the rules posted, or just standard stuff you need to know and understand before saying a word in hl2rp.

Since this is not serious roleplay, I don't see a reason for players to view an animation/slideshow/video of tips and tricks.
Just tell them to go Q>Help/Rules/Definitions.
If they have questions they ask in OOC people will answer.

Well I just found that out and oh silly me, but then this thread has been posted twice. On which I posted kind of the same as this.

Think about it in this way: A person comes from DarkRP and doesn't know what to do. They probbly want to do s*** and just play. So if you tell them, " go to the ment, look up the rules, and read them, and blah blah blah... They aren't and thats going to lead to a PK, problems, maybe a ban. And they'll never come back.
OR
They could simply watch a short animated video. Laugh a little, learn a bit, and RP in a fun way. We can also say if they complain they ween't taught right we can easily use the video as proof they could. :D
NOTE: I want to hear from you people! If I get more support I might make a video! (Though I would prefer somebody that can REALLY do it with flash could.)

I was thinking about making a short video explaining the basics and fundamentals of HL2RP using faceposer. Probably not going to unless I get proficient with Faceposer.

I dunno, maybe...But remember these people didn't read the rules because its BORING and they don't WANT TO. So if you do remember the keywords FUNNY and HELPFUL! :D

I bet YOUR from Dark Rp, and here is a little tidbit:
If they want to play proffieceintly on this server and RP well, and make that transition from Light Rp to Serious, they should read the rules like the rest of us.

Well I see people complaining about minges a LOT and its worth a shot. Or we can just shoot people. I mean just saying a video along with a harder quiz would probbly be a good idea. ( I already support on the harder quiz topic.) Also, why can't they learn easier? Just becuase we couldn't they can't? :-\

Ok, nobody really likes it. but I AM TIRED OF TEACHING PEOPLE RP SHIT. I have to teach TWO PEOPLE today RP since they know none AND NOW A THIRD ONE... >:(

Ok a video could work over some basics. I also not too long ago had a person saying "sorry im new" from two people. That makes 4 so far that do not understand what to do. I'm just saying a fast little slideshow with soem voices could really help.

I find this actually a pretty good idea. I remember how Sabotage made such a video like this for OCRP, and I believe it does had some success. It's worth a shot. I will see what I can do, by making this video. Then I will ask Karma or someone else to add it to the intro or something. We'll see.
