Hello! I'm Masterpower5! I have been playing your Harbor Role play servers for a little bit now, and I've come to enjoy them! I have even donated to help keep them up! One problem I am having however is the other people that play the server. This is a problem for everyone I assume. I have been told if there is any problems with any person to use the /report so an admin in game can view it. However, as I have done this many times while admins/super admins were on, nothing was done. I have then tried to talk or sms an admin and have been ignored. This has been happening a lot and not just to me. Other players have been having same issue. This is not a ban request. This is to aware the owners that their own admins and super admins are ignoring their duties and not helping others as they should. I would kindly ask that either the admins kindly start doing their job, or we fire them to get new active admins who are willing to go the extra mile to assist the players who are loyal to the server and its rules..
Again I note THIS DOES NOT MEAN ALL ADMINS, however it is most admins I have played with recently.
Any questions feel free to ask, and if you are having same issue, reply with your situation so we can get this known.
Thank you
~masterpower5 AKA Aphrodite Jones

We like to RP too, you know. A lot of times when I get a report I'm in the middle of a RP situation and I try to tell the reporter that, but 90% of the time they seem to miss the reply. We also go AFK at times to read the forums, etc. Please make sure your reports are detailed, as well. "Admin to me plz" won't work. You need to tell us WHY we're going to you, WHERE you are, and WHO it's for(if it's for a player). Example: "John Doe is RDMing at Blue Harbor, can you come?"
-
Wouldn't a good admin drop everyone in his hands, even when rp'ing, to go help the dude that just reported "John Doe is RDMing at Blue Harbour, can you come?"
I have to agee with masterpower5. Whenever I'm on the server seeing an admin online talking actively in OOC. I suspect that he's not AFK and not in the middle of something, but still, he ignores my /report that I'm (example: being stuck). I am not hating on you admins or anything, but I would really be happy if you guys(exept for wakeboarder, since he actually seems to do it) atleast just responded in OOC that you are busy or something like that.

Having been an administrator at this community for two years, and now being in the opposite role of a player, I must tell you that you're wrong. A good administrator does their job when they can, but also makes sure to not over-extend themselves, and to not stress themselves out. Players need to remember that administrators are volunteers, and there is very little return for what we do, except the joy of a server that runs smoothly. I have administrated for Half-Life 2 Roleplay, Orange Cosmos Roleplay, and Harbor Roleplay during my time here, and I will tell you that Harbor Roleplay is hands-down the most stressful experience as an administrator. If it seems like an administrator is ignoring your report, they're probably responding to someone else already, and simply are too busy to reply. In some cases, and it's completely understandable, an administrator may simply be taking a break from their duties, because it is unfathomably stressful, and in the cases of many administrators, has negative ramifications in real life. Administrators need to take breaks so that they can have a clear mind and good judgment in their jobs, and so that they can attend to the incomparably more important duties they have in life. So, while yes, if an administrator is busy it may be convenient for you if they responded in OOC, lots of times they're too busy or they just want a break. The most important job you have as a player is to have a little compassion and a lot of understanding for the position that administrators are in, because it is a very stressful one.

Twidget has it pretty spot on. Administrating HRP is very stressful. I usually don't sleep much, maybe 6 or 7 hours a day(Even going to bed at 10-11pm). If I go to bed after playing HRP I sleep close to 10 or 11 hours because of how much stress it puts on me. Many people don't understand how bad administrating is. I know a couple people that were promoted to admin for HRP, but soon left because they couldn't handle it. Trust me, if you think it's stressful being a victim of a player breaking rules, try taking care of them and trying to punish them.

You see, even if you are trying to role play, you aren't doing it continuously. you can take one minute to at least acknowledge the fact we have rule breakers. Being to busy is no excuse. Sorry but it just isn't. As an admin you are taking the responsibility of helping the server. Not just "Oh hey im an admin I can now ignore those who need help and just play with perks now". I have been an admin for many servers in various games, Even when I was completely busy with something, I would not tolerate a rule breaker. This is how all admins should be, no excuses of "I'm too busy".

I am sorry, but I am not going to stop my current RP situation to go deal with a situation, which 90% has no proof so nothing can be done, for you getting RDM'd. If it's a mass RDM or prop spam, etc, yes I will deal with the player instantly, but if someone broke NLR and I'm selling weapons or in some sort of RP situation, I will continue to RP until I am done. Players can wait a minute or two before an admin gets to them.
Yes, we are taking the responsibility of helping the server, but we are taking the responsibility of RPing with the community. If I leave a RP situation for a rule breaker, most of the time the player just gives up and that RP situation is over with. We try to get to rule breakers ASAP while still being able to enjoy the gamemode.

You shouldn't be ignoring reports even when you are in a rp situation. You should pause it and handle the situation reported to you. One of your responsibilities is making sure other people's experience is good and fun at the expense of your own. Sure, have breaks when necessary but don't be fucking lazy and ignorant to reports for the sake of your own shit.

What happens with me is I get one report dealing with one situation and then while I am dealing with the one, two more pop up. I am having to talk to the people in my first situation and i cannot type replies to the other situations because you can't type and talk at the same time. So what I do is go to the first report and if another shows up I tend to just say in ooc that I am busy with a report currently and people usually understand. I have a LOT of binds for things dealing with reports tee hee. :D
But yeah, If I am role-playing and a report comes through the tube then I tend to either tell them ill be with them soon or do not reply until i am finished with that current rp situation.

See, most admins aren't even doing that! Some admins literally ignore us. I sent a report while an admin and he ignored it. So I found the admin so I could talk to him. Keep in mind he wasn't doing anything besides walking around red harbor. I found the admin and said, "I sent multiple reports about a prop pusher/killer" and the admin went away. That is uncalled for and highly offensive. This admin is ignoring players and just using his admin privileges for his own sake. He isn't helping the players at all.
-
Maybe that was Hazard lol, he just resigned
-
I believe we should have a few more admins, just enough to run the server 24/7 almost and admins that will take action to reports and other situations rather then only fend for themselves.
-
It also comes down to people reporting stuff correctly. Most of the time reports are either improper or I cant actually deal with them, so I dont bother spending 30 minutes talking to two people who will just go "ADMIN BAN HIM HE BROKE RULE" and the other one "I DIDNT BREAK RULE STFU"
There, prime example of the average reports.
Only two of those are actually proper, and ZERO can I actually do anything about, sure, for the two proper reports I could actually talk to them, but I just ask them if they have evidence, and if they dont, there just isnt a point spending more time than asking them if they did break a rule/tell them not to because if they deny it I cant do anything more about it.
If someone reports that he was RDMed, fair enough, can look into it, but unless he has evidence or the other player admits it, we cant do anything. Get evidence before reporting or you are most likely wasting your time.
-
OK I understand some incidents are more critical, and I understand some kids don't know how to report. I on the other hand reported a full report and the admin literally, was ignoring it. As I said, I found the admin, and he was just walking around. This is not the first time.
-
If the report you refer to was a genuine high priority issue and the admin in question was just building something in the meantime, I would be sharing your concern as well.
-
This thread is dumb. If an admin isn't doing his job/breaking the rules then make an administrator complaint on the said admin with evidence. It's that simple.
-
And again we have a failed attempt at an admin.
austrailia Or HRP name Johnny White has just banned someone for prop blocking for one week, AFTER Johnny Broke the RDM rule Many times. This whole admin thing is getting out of hand. Either this whole system needs new admins, or admins who wont break rules and then ban others for doing so. This is getting annoying, something needs to be done. Honestly if you look at former replies to this, you will see its mostly the admins saying nothing is wrong. HINT HINT. Please actually do something rather then make excuses.

If you have proof then post an admin complaint.

This is all that needs to be said for all admins. If we were not just doing this voluntarily, and there was a form of payment besides the server we love, running the best way possible, then players can ask for us to do more, and be more. until then, you get all we can give: 100% while we are in the server.

Firstly, "pics or it didn't happen". Unless you can back up your claims with proof in the form of screenshots or videos, I find your comment baseless, insulting, and incredibly repugnant.
Secondly, I would quote Ricky/Twidget, but KJUN did it for me. I would honestly like to see you handle not just the powers granted from an admin position, but the responsibility that comes with it. How would you handle, everyday, giving your best and being told it wasn't good enough for one person? Or how about you're in another game trying to relax when you suddenly receive a flurry of PMs commanding that you get on to deal with an RDMer? Or perhaps someone sends you a friend request over Steam simply to bitch at you for banning him instead of posting a ban appeal?
I would love to hear you come up with an excuse as to why you can't post a ban request when an admin isn't online.

if you see an admin breaking the rules and abusing, actually grab some proof and make an AC instead of going "herp a derp he rdm'd and banned people after abus!!!!" with no proof whatsoever
otherwise, nothing is wrong with the administration team at CG other than the lack of numbers which is hard to fix when most HRP players are, to put it bluntly, thick as shit (mainly the immature 12 year olds) and that gmod is increasingly growing in that type of audience everyday
