Title: New Motherboard, no sound...
Post by: Sexy Frog on January 19, 2013, 01:36:23 AM
Alright, I got my new motherboard and what not and everything works perfect save my sound. I have everything plugged into the motherboard correctly I'm pretty sure but for some reason I don't have sound. I have my headset and speakers plugged in but no sound from either of them. When I go to the sound selection to make sure nothings off I see this.

Microphone:

As you can see my speakers and mic are registered as not even plugged in when in actuality they are. I checked over the plugs like 20 times and read over the manual to make sure. I dunno. Hepl.

May seem like a stupid question but...

Do you have the drivers installed?

Are you plugging your devices into the back of your PC or the front?

I've tried back and front. Same shit and yes. I inserted the disc that came with my motherboard and downloaded all drivers.

Try downloading the latest drivers from the website. There may have been some updates since that CD was made.

Also, make sure everything is plugged in securely inside the PC.

Did it. smt gave me a download from the site and I used that, still nothing. I'm pretty sure I plugged everything in right as I've checked 984913041 times. It could be that I'm running Windows 8 and compatability is known to suck ass hole. I'm running an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard.

edit: Okay so now I get sound only with an HDMI source but it turns out its my jacks. None of them register as detected. I can have something plugged in my headphone, speaker or line in and non of them detect the devices. So idk.
