Title: Buying a Computer

Heyy guys My birthdays on tuesday and i asked for money for my birthday and i was going to buy a Computer. I was wondering what should i get in the computer like how much ram and stuff thanks

In general: Go for a desktop. 4-6 gigs of ram ought to be good. 500-1000gigs of hard disk space is sufficient for most people. Get a nividea graphics card 340 series or greater. When buying a processor, aim for 2-4 cores.
Try not to get premade. Stay away from Alienware, and if you're getting a premade laptop, go for Asus.
Always avoid Acer as if it's the black plague.

Thanks for that Globey i was planing to spend $650-700 (Not on Alienware) on a Desktop its my birthday today and i got more money to buy it. Does anyone else have more suggestions on what stuff i should get.
