I guess its better than nothing but 3 days for SWAT? That is equal to almost 2-3 months if you play 7 hrs a week. And it will be 1 month without cops if you play 7 hours a week too. Since there is mid winter break coming up soon, hopefully it will get better. But still, not everyone wants to grow all day. I really advise you remove it. So even if after 1 month there will be some cops (A very very small amount) there will still be no SWAT. This could take maybe even 4-5 months for the police force to ever even match the power they had before. Why don't you do applications of some sort, so people like me who really only play cop and do passive rp from time the time receive the ability to go officer and SWAT. EDIT: Plus, this also stops player growth by a lot.

It will not be removed.

Just "deal with it" for the next weeks until the players who cares about OCRP has enough playtime to join these jobs.

You can do some passive rp on OCRP Semi Serious while you gain some playtime. I can't tell you what to do to gain playtime other than, play.

But for sure it wont get removed.

Passive rp for 5 months in a game mode that dosen't really support passive rp. Alright, ocrp is turning into a barren wasteland.

Because letting people grow in semi-serious for 1 week undisturbed by cops is a good idea, yeah, VERY good idea crap-head.

If cop is going to be one day and SWAT 3 days!?  At least say that the server is not semi-serious and IS serious.  Make a completely different rule set for the semi-serious server as well.

WAY too far craphead. Thats months without a half-decent police force, as in, say, more than 2 police at a time. Why not make everything, at most, 1 day. Thats still a very long time ( 2 weeks - a month for the first players to appear). It might sound like a short time, but 24 hours in game is nothing to laugh at. At the very least, allow playtime to go up, but players to use these jobs for the first month, so that at least 1 person by then can perform one of these jobs

I see your problem, but all you do is yell up about how shit the system is. Think about the future of the police on OCRP.

In 2 weeks the police will have a pretty stable force and less of the minges. You only yell because you can't go cop right away now, but a few days ago, you were yelling up become of the fail cops.

You guys are very hard to make happy. I need to do things like this, to improve stuff in the future.

Well, if you guys are worried about mingy cops you can always implement applying for be a Police officer and let the recruit go through training and other stuff, before they are added to a whitelist or something.

For example Person A: Does not have a whitelist for Police, so he can not join the Police Department.
          While Person B: Has finished training and etc, so he can join the police and also can go back to normal civilian life.

1. Gold and VIP should get a reduced time, but it's not that big of a deal. If the rest of us can wait, so can Gold and VIP members.

2. He already reduced the time, not sure why you are complaining about this now.

3. Pretty disrespectful if you ask me. He's the one coming up with this stuff, coding, and adding it to the server for us to enjoy. If you don't like it why don't you start coding everything? It's a new update and with new updates come with bugs, and things you may not like, but it's really not that big of deal.. The time it takes to allow you to become cop may be steep, but it just means a better group of cops in the end, and keeps the minges away from the guns and tasers.

Someone would abuse a job we record him and let him get blacklisted for 2 weeks.
It's not like people abused their job much in the past.

EDIT: Only just saw that jobs need less playtime, thanks for that is play time counter also fixed?

It's not just that. This is a good idea because it will allow new players get used to the server and adjust the rules, but that also leaves us without cops for a few days.

RoflWaffle already approved of this idea around 1 week ago.

I find it ridiculous how you guys use so much time to complain about something that will work out a lot better in the future, and will hopefully improve the gameplay.

All of you are just going "hurr that is shit, take it out, i don't like it" because its something you have to wait for and GAIN.

Taking PERP as an example. Of course it was boring in the beginning, but it got better when you got the playtime for it.

You're all taking this way to far.
I'm seriously about to give up on OCRP. You guys demand shit all the time. When i add it, half of the community cries over it, and the other half likes it. Its hard to make something that will work out for everybody. You want less fail cops, i give you something that will help that out, but because YOU think you are the best cops ever, you do not want to wait 1 day of playtime to get the position as a cop because you have already played here for years.

Well sorry but the script had to be added at sometime, and whenever it was added, people would complain. I added it with the new map in hope for some more RP.

Why do you all have to freaking complain at everything, instead of just looking at some of the positive things that it might evolve into.

TL;DR: Give it some freaking time. It will hopefully work out in a week or two when the dedicated OCRP players has gotten enough playtime to play as police and whatnot. If not, well shit then, i wasted time on coding something like this.

Anyone can buy gold member. Gold member doesn't show you are a better cop than a regular member.

I just wanted to say thank you crap-head for uploading a new map which I've loved so far, aside from the bugs, and I am glad to see people actually are working on OCRP. Thank you to everyone who is helping too :).

All I saw before this update was broken and this line: "Fixed cars and bodies not disappearing when disconnecting (hopefully)." doesn't even look like you were bothered in testing it either. You really need to test thoroughly, bring in a few trusted administrators to carry out some tests with you in which say for that line, they would first spawn their cars, park it in individual places and then leave one by one to see if that is fixed. Then they rejoin and kill themselves so their bodies are on the floor then leave and see if it disappears.

All I'm saying is test more thoroughly, and don't implement half-finished features that are broken to shit (aka the phone).

Its really mixed for me
on one hand, no cops means that a lot of the fun of OCRP Is taken out, which is evasion, Also, i like to be a Paramedic a lot, and I think that job got timed too.
On the Other Hand, This will reduce fail cops, but im not sure by how much, i think that, eventually, the Fail Cops will once again start joining up, because eventually they will get the play time to.

Honestly, me and Ninja'd tested it on the dev server before that update was pushed out. He got his car out, i shot him, he laid dead on the floor and he left. Both of his things got removed and he can confirm that. I'm working all i can to solve it right now, but there are no actual errors to follow. I will push out a fix as soon as i find one.

I thought it over last night guys. 2 weeks might be really shitty, but the future will be awesome. It creating a true RP xp. But, there is a chance this won't work if people do not play more. The police base is already low, now we will have a lower police base, but I think this could work out in the end. Take a look at this, if we have 2-3 bad weeks on OCRP don't we usually get that all the time? OCRP is in deperate times, and desperate times call for desperate actions. Now, I think a month without time requirements would be nice, so that way we can keep a police force that at least can go cop (not SWAT). I believe this could settle all of our disputes and finish this debate we have started. This thing won't end, for both sides, if we don't come to some agreement here. Everything else looks very nice, there is just one problem, I think the nexus has to many resources, its very laggy. But all the other areas are fine. Also, I see a lot of people in here that don't support time requirements , but have been growing weed and not helping me do any passive rp. I opened a Bar and Grill at the amber room, only about 5-6 people came out of another 27. Where is the other 27 people? Serously where? I know admins usually spectate, so we can take out 3 from that 27. Now its 24, ok WHERE THE HELLL ARE YOU GUYS. Your just growing all day. Lets all try to do some passive rp and at the same time make a agreement we can all agree on.

I think that the 3 day wait time is probaly a good idea because i've noticed many noobs playing as SWAT and they usually end up RDM'ing or just not doing their job.

Imho when it takes a lot to achieve something you will automaticly do the "thing" better than if the "thing" didn't require any effort.
