Benjamin Snofilos.'s Civil Authority ApplicationOOC Name: Oh-Em-Gee (The black scottsmin)
IC Character Name: Benjamin Snofilos.
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Benjamin has always looked up to the men and woman who joined the Combine Civil Authority, and has always wanted to become one of them. As a middle-aged man who doesn't have much to lose, he would like to serve the union. He has never done anything important in his life before, and would like to make himself count. Ben would feel honoured if he was accepted into the Combine Civil Authority.
The benefits of becoming a part of the Union is also what lead him to apply. Benjamin knows that as an average citizen you can not get a lot of food or tokens. Ben has seen how respectfully people treat the Combine Civil Authority members. He's tired of being disrespected by the men and woman of the Authority, and is tired of living his life in fear under the combine empire. He trys to help the Union as much as he can in order to gain respect.
Before the war, he has always wanted to become a person of authority (Police, Army ect). He considered joining the police force as a young adult, but never got around to doing so. Benjamin wants to make himself count, he's tired of being a useless citizen, living in a crappy, unclean apartment. As loyal as he may be to what he likes to think of as 'The Great Union,' as most people do, he still misses and prefers earth the way it was before the combine took over.
Overall, Benjamin wants to join the Combine Civil Authority for the benefits, respect, and pride.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Benjamin is a very trustworthy man, he certainly does not look for trouble. He's also a loyal man, who will obey people who are in charge of him, and will try his best to not let them down. He's always willing to help when he is needed. He likes to perfect his work, he always avoids doing a Half-Hearted job.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.For me I think it I may find it hard at first, but I'm confident that I will get used to it. I have had experience with being a Civil Protection Unit before on another server, but that server was never really populated and is no longer up. I do have a basic idea of what tasks my character will be doing as a unit. I would enjoy being a unit on a popular server, but I do acknowledge that it may take a while to get used to.
Benjamin will find it hard, and isn't certain about the idea of beating up citizens. But of course, he will grow into the idea as he ranks up. But even as a low rank, if he's ordered to do something, he usually will do it, almost no matter what it is. He may get tired if he is doing lots of work, and can get distracted easily. Benjamin does feel sorry for vortigaunts, and will find it hard to deal with them when he is ordered to. Benjamin might struggle at first with becoming a Combine-Civil-Authority member, but of course, he will get used to it.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Benjamin was born into quite a large family of six, him being the third child born in the family. He lived in a small apartment in New York in a struggling family with his Mother, Father, Grandmother, and his three older sisters. His father, who was called Joseph had a job at a restraunt, and received low pay. Joseph was a very positive man, who Benjamin Snofilos always looked up to.
He lived in a violent neighborhood where suicide, guns and drugs were part of his daily life, many of his friends dropped out of school at a young age. This is what made him suffer depression throughout his childhood. At the age of twenty, all of his sisters have left the apartment and his grandmother died of a heart-attack. He finally moved out of his parents small apartment, slightly pressured by his father, because his parents couldn't afford to pay for him.
Once ben moved out of his parents small apartment, he moved into another apartment, this one was decently sized. He lived alone for many years, since he was not too social. He didn't have many friends as an adult, and was very quiet. Benjamin worked at a factory and received extremely low pay. This is what caused him as an adult to suffer depressesion once again.
Ben tried to stay positive like his father, even as depressed as he was. Before the seven hour war, when the portal storms began appear, Benjamin was as frightened as most people were. He found it hard to adjust to the portal storms at first, but got used to them after a while. The portal storms made Ben even more depressed than he was before, because of the fear of being harmed by one of the storms. He didn't like to go outside while the storms were happening, and avoided as many people as he could as he isolated himself inside his boring apartment.
Several years later, Benjamin is standing in a large, but orderly queue. He is in a train-station, the exits are baricaded and guarded by men wearing strange suits with masks on. There's a man infront of the queue in the same uniform. The man asks the people who reach the front of the line to show him their newly issued Citizen Identification Cards. Once they show their cards to him, the man directs them. Most people to his right, some to his left.
Once Benjamin finaly reached the front of the line, the man brutaly reached into Bens pocket, and takes his Identification card out, and read the writing outloud to himself, 'Benjamin Snofilos, Two-Eight-Six, Four-Five...'. He turned to a large monitor which was behind him, and tapped it, a picture of Benjamin's face appears on the screen. He examines it, then turns to Benjamin, wordlessly extending his arm to his right, raising his his index finger. Benjamin walks in that direction, which leads him to a train.
Before he knew it, he was on his way to city fourty five.

My most memorable quality RP experience must be on my old character who is now deceased, called 'Simon Smith' when his In-Character friend 'Scott Jefferson' got shot by a unit in the leg. I (Simon Smith) was ordered by a unit to help a Civil Worker out.
While I was doing so, Scott limped towards me and asked me to help, so I lifted him up onto my shoulder and ran around looking for anyone who could help. I eventually got ordered to bring him to the medical bay in District Two, but I needed to find a Worker to escort me there. I found one, and Scott was put into a medical bay. He eventually recovered. It was a fun Passive RP event.
