Lest we forget- Remember the fallen. 11/11
Some of you know, others do not. Today is remembrance day- also known as veterans day, as in, where most major countries remember ones who have died in previous wars such as WW1,WW2, Falklands, Gulf wars, etc.

I don't care what you think, but at 11:00 GMT, Or whenever if your asleep then, do your own 2 minutes silence and remember them. Without them, we would not be here today(most likely).

I demand a memorial event be held in OCRP later today, like was done last year.

There was a video on it but I can't find it. :(

Very sad indeed. I've had three great grand parents serve in the military all which had died in WW2, one was a gunner on a navy vessel, he was shooting at Japanese bombers, destroyed like 10 or so fighters before one Japanese bomber after had shot at it and taken down both it's wings, it then flew and smashed into the side of the ship killing him instantly. Another flew 35 flights over Germany he gained the royal distinguished flying cross "An act or acts of valour, courage or devotion to duty whilst flying in active operations against the enemy" one of the most highly regarded medals in the air force. He later died in a very dense foggy morning after walking into the prop of his plane.

I don't know much about my other relative, however I know he was a medic and he died in WW2. But all were great service men and they will be forever remembered along with every other service member whom has fallen in battle. Lest we forget.

I was walking through my city centre today, and I observed only 4 people (Not counting me) were wearing a Poppy. Even the older generation didn't have them on. I was one of only 2 students that wore a Poppy in College today, even though they were selling them in college. I was pissed off I can tell you.

Wearing a Poppy is a mark of respect and I believe people should wear them.

On a lighter note, I'm glad to be back :)

My Dad and Brother are in the Army too. My brother is a Private in the Royal Signals Corps, and my Dad is a Company Sergeant Major in the Royal Logistics Corps. He went to Iraq in 2003 and went to Bosnia on a UN peace keeping tour a while back. Well proud of my Dad tbh.

Yesterday in Poland, it was also Polish Independence Day.
It's celebrated every year on 11 November to commemorate the anniversary of Poland's assumption of independent statehood in 1918 after 123 years of partition by Russia, Prussia and Austria. So this date, is double-important for me, since I am from Poland.

Lest we forget.
I knew a Polish war veteran not too long ago. He had to literally starve himself to death to put himself out of his missery, because it's still illegal to commit assisted suicide.
This was a man who won the US Bronze Star for bravery, who faught for countries that weren't his own.

He was one of the kindest human beings i have ever met and who faught for our freedom, and he died without dignity or honor. I'll always remember Stanislav Panasiuk, especially when I think of the freedom that he faught for and was denied.
