Battlefield 3 + Record program = problems.
« on: November 18, 2011, 07:29:10 AM »
I run Battlefield 3 perfectly on ultra settings. I do get crashes so now and then but that is rare.
I run Fraps and Camtasia screen recording perfectly fine.

HOWEVER, When I use Fraps to record battlefield 3 gameplay, my game crashes after around 3-5 minutes of recording.
When I use Camtasia screen recording, my ENTIRE COMPUTER crashes after around 5 minutes of recording.

Both programs output is set to D:/ which has over 500GB free space.

Was just about to say that. Fraps is a cunt for using RAM. When I used to record BR's it would sometimes CTD me because of it being a fat bastard and eating away at my RAM.

Can you not use any other recording software?

I have 8gb of ram. Fraps works fine with any other game. Even newer games such as Crysis 2. I doubt ram is the problem here.

I don't know if I can use any other program, because I don't have any other program.

higher ram isnt always the best, it needs to be a good make and fast, you might even have a faulty stick of ram which is causing it

Not only recording causes crashes, it also happens that if I not crash for a change, the video just fails to render entirely when publishing them.

Example, this video was supposed to be around 16 minutes long. It says it's around 12...

Now even weirder, This video SAYS it is around 15 minutes (Which it supposed to be) but if you start playing it, the time changes to 1:17.

when you render, im assuming parts of the video are stored in RAM when rendering, so have you tried checking each stick one by one to see if one is faulty or something? i cant really think what else it would be
