Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.
Kuh spent most of his young life in Xen as a footsoldier, though he was much like a grunt. He was not very strong and not very fast, but his most notable aspect was his superior intelligence. He spread his knowledge openly and often angered the others. When he made it to Earth, he found other Vortigaunt outcasts who admired the Resistance and helped them combat the Combine. Kuh decided to join these Vortigaunts and help out. Though he was the weakest of the group, and often lagged behind, he was the one that kept them all alive with his survival knowledge.

One day, when venturing Earth, five OTA soldiers ambushed him and his group. The others were captured, but he managed to escape only with his cowardice. When his former comrades were bound and enslaved, he hid, never to speak of them again. To this day, he ventures the Outlands with fond thoughts of the Resistance, and troubled thoughts of that one fateful day.

It took him a while, but Kuh has finally adapted to human lifestyles. While he lives in isolation from most of them, he still admires them and their bravery, wishing that he could be that courageous.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
The ability to finally see the world through the eyes of a Vortigaunt.
To expand role-playing horizons.
To play as a runt-like Vortigaunt.

Defects
He is often considered an easy target, and is very cowardly.
He is not very fun to talk to, though he does sometimes recall his past life.
He is often more of a burden then a useful worker, but he still tries to help.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
I plan to make a cowardly Vortigaunt character that human characters can relate to. I feel like doing this will give me a better understanding of Half-Life 2 canon.
