Title: City 45 Bugs, Glitches, and Needed Additions

Post any bugs, glitches, additions, or suggestions to the City 45 v2 map in this thread.


IMPORTANT MAP MODIFICATIONS:
1. There's a lot of unneeded hallway leading to the former agility room.

KNOWN BUGS/GLITCHES:
1. Windows in trainstation checkpoint are missing glass textures.
2. Combine watchtower in plaza does not collide with props.
3. Walls disappear when one stands in certain areas of the map.
4. When one stands next to the rails in the town square, players disappear. (fixed?)
5. One is unable to see citizen playermodels through the windows of the plaza shops. (fixed?)
6. Apartment A4 has a bad leak/ nodraw in the corner of the bathroom.
7. The D6 shop window is missing its bullet impacts.
8. Lots of "cracks" and "seams" in the map, especially in the UCH.

GAMEMODE SUGGESTIONS:
1. Ticket purchasing system to ride subway.
2. Fix the un-lockable doors in the CWU building. (?)
3. Players aren't able to spawn mattresses. (confirm?)

1. ADRENALINE needs a dedicated medwing in the Nexus.
2. (suggested) LEGION, RAZOR, GEAR have their own dedicated rooms as well.

I can do a basic thing where you can press a button to get access, but losing tokens too? hm. Not something I can do.

I don't know the locations of the texture misalignments, I'll hafta ask around.

I wonder if the subway ticket system could be worked out in gamemode...?
Or maybe not an automated one, but instead, for example:
A CP makes citizens apply in the upper station, searches them, and checks their records. If they're clean, they are given a ticket (ex: a dollar bill from the CS:S Assault proplist) and proceed further down, where another CP takes their ticket and lets them through a checkpoint.

Um the bottum floor (Basement?) of the CCH, there's a part with the stairs that has a random gap that just leads to nothing. Even though you can't fall through it, it looks ugly. Also, the Overwatch tower across from the Nexus isn't solid to other props?

I reported a misaligned texture at the left of the nexus side entrance, the windows with the grey stuff blocking them, you can see part of one that gets cut off by the Nexus

Suggestion: Put a small blue light on the Overwatch Tower because I've seen a lot of people fall to their death because they didn't see the ladder and fell.

I found a few. There's a spot where you can stand on C45, where the 45th apartment building will have some walls disappear, and until you leave the spot, they will remain invisible. There is also the bug where you can't buy the doors in the 45th apartment building. Also, in the town square, when you stand by the fences, all people become invisible.

I believe there should be more combine props around, and maybe a hardpoint or checkpoint on the way to sector six.

Foto Shop has horrible optimization theres a big pitch black area right beside a fucking light in the corner.

Foto shop window is useless you cant see anyone out side  causing everyone to fade off.

The railway up to the top of the CHANGE shop need to be bigger cause of the fucking doors being as long as the current one causing issues getting in

There is no v3, only v2r2, maybe v2r3. Neither will there be a set release date. Any mapper will know it's impossible to set one.

@Adam, I know of the light issue, I don't know WHY it happens. Added more lights anyway.
Second issue is due to vvis. Will work on fixing.
Third issue is also being looked at, though I'm not changing the geometry.

17. Decorate the City Administrator's office more (red carpet, posters, furniture, etc).
18. Many doors are unopenable and have combine locks on them. If they actually led to rooms/shops, that would be amazing.
19. The D7 warehouse is missing its door text, as is the Diordna plaza shop.
20. Separate command rooms for LEGION, GEAR, and RAZOR.
21. Put a small light on the Combine watchtower so units can see the ladder.
22. Redesign the ration distribution center so it's less cramped inside.
23. Perma-propped hardpoint in front of D6 entrance.
24. Perma-propped combine locks.

4. Found a couple of *small* ones, nothing major though.
5. You mean the upper platform? buggy as hell. Might get round to it.

12. Working on it. Partially fixed by adding more lights to the room, It's "okay", not the best.

It's not about length or how the name sounds, why does that even matter? I'm not actually a mapper, so if I'm wrong someone correct me-
...But the purpose of the map name is to be practical, so people can easily tell the version of the map, for example.

Because with each version addition, it prevents map differs from server errors whenever there's an update, but if you REALLY want me to, I'll unify it.

I don't see the point TBH. Legion is sociostability enforcement - They're meant to be out patrolling, not sitting in a room all day. Besides, what function would it serve if they did have one?

12:03 - I think I nailed the light issue. Running final checks. If everything's good, then the map will be ready. This is your last chance to suggest things.

15:35 - Narrowed problem source to the agility training area. May have to simplify it or get rid of it entirely :(

The spacky lighting that made certain lights fail, along with the medroom. This has been fixed at the cost of the agility room.

Do you mind changing the textures inside the CWU HQ (Second floor change shop aka the place were the doors are as long as the balcony) The current ones are very common id like something different and the doors arch frame inside doesnt match the texture

The shaft one is the nexus armory elevator shaft, the trees ate at the back of s6.

Just a small amount. It's in the BSP anyway. It also needs CS:S and EP2. If you don't have these well too bad.

Can we also make it so the tall windows in the train terminal doesnt emit light? It makes it look like it's bright out,  then people walk outside and it's like "wat"

Next version is day time.

I like fog in moderation, but this map's fog is just butt-ugly and dark. Or, the skybox is a tad bit high.

I got one for gamemode, Not sure if it's meant to be put here but... We as the CWU need to be able to spawn CWU items. The items that when you try to spawn say "You are not in the CWU" I want to spawn nice things for the CWU... Just saying.

That's been fixed already, however players are still unable to spawn some items. Mattresses and bunkbeds, for example (I think).

Mattresses are ragdoll models, so that's why you can't spawn them. Bunkbeds may just not be mounted content.

My toolgun doesn't do anything, as in I can't use anything with it. I can spawn props fine  and use my physgun but that's it.

Some of my friends have been having this problem, and other players have complained sometimes about the lag or DoS, I searched the error up, and thats the conclusion I got to. I hope that you will fix the problem, cause it makes HL2RP unplayable for me at least.

I sometimes get that error, I think and it causes lag spikes for like 3 minutes. Still annoying....

Decrease the amount of nodes, all 1.9k of them are the reason the server crashes so often, decrease it and make them more sparse, about just 1k, lower the entdata.

Most nodes can be removed if its npcnodes... we dont use npcs but in the plaza really....
