Like I restated before, this idea is just plain stupid in my opinion.  There is no reason why this can't be done between normal characters, if you're really bored and want to do passiveRP, instead of waiting for someone to ask you to do something, ask around, "Hey, do you need me to do anything for you?"  I'm sure someone would have something to do.

Nope.avi. Everyone tries to make their char a stuck up hardass who can get shit done on their own. I've never had someone give me a legitimate task to do, and I always asked around.

It was another normal day at the Belles town, where most of the people would hang around at the Inn or scavenge for items.
Barak went out of the Inn, and went to the bar. It was known as Greg's bar. Barak opened the Bar door, and walked inside. No one was around, and there were only the usual stuff, some alcohol, beers, and what not.
However... After a quick look around, three items pinned to the wall catched his attention. It seems like there were two pictures, with an envelope. Barak looked at the pictures, thinking it was a Hit photo, due to the target symbol. He took the envelope, quickly opened it.
Inside the envelope, there was a strange sketch, look like a skull with wings, horns, and very sharp teeth. On the bottom right of the sketch, there was a small text. The text was "WE KNOW".
"We know... But what do they know...?"
After Barak red the text, he quickly folded the sketch back, putted it inside the envelope, and pinned it again. He went out of the Bar, and jogged to the Inn.


** A new day begins at the Belles town, the sun is rising once again. **

As the sun is rising, Barak wakes up from his bed, in a local abandoned hotel. He walks down the stairs, and exits through the front door.
As he walked outside, he glances at the Bar, wondering if he should go back inside. He hesitates for a few moments, but finally walks towards the bar. He opens the bar's door, searching for the Photos and the envelope.
They are gone. Barak quickly closes the door, trying to catch his breathing. He walks to the Inn, feeling a bit dizzy.
When he arrives at the Inn, he goes to the couch near the fire place, sitting on it, and not moving.

I would agree to this only if there's a limit. Something like "Only 1 quest per 20 minutes" or like "This quest may only be completed 3 times per day"

I'm sure our administrators will have a good idea of controlling this. It's not like its a scripted system. We just do it.

Sure, why not? wouldn't even need to be an admin, could just be a trusted player. Isn't this a bit similar to Srp as well, when the traders would give you missions to do except the rewards were credits or actual items.
Unfortunately, only administrators can authorize players to obtain IC items.

Kwait, if it's Admins that have to gift rewards, I can see this becoming a shitfest of OOC talk with newbs going all "admin gimme my fuckin stuff i been wating forever fuck"

Keiji claps his hands together, tapping his fingers together.

"-what I did notice is that there's a part missing. Right on the bottom of the device, a nice gaping hole. My best guess is that it's a missing part or something along those lines. Now, what I'll need you for...is to help me find it. Think you're up for it?"

Keiji heads down the stairs, rather quickly and eagerly, setting the device down right in the middle of the room, tinkering with it a bit.

"Watch and observe..."

Within a few moments, a small whir is heard, followed by a rhythm of beeps. Soon after, a hologram of what seems like a bust head pops up a few feet above the device shading a translucent aqua blue color.  Keiji stands and takes a step back, marveling at his work.

"There we are."

Keiji would probably work as a travelling Mechanic, offering work for supplies, what with his skills with machinery and Combine tech. His big goal, however, would be to try to get blueprints of whatever Combine tech he could and sell them off to scientists and other mechs alike, effectively assisting in the advancement of future tech post re-civilization.
