Text: First day as a Civil Protection Officer went as expected, to a point.  We got through with Orientation with no problems, but our group had a hold up at Breach Training. We got through that eventually, 474 (the one training) was furious at us for a while. After that we had a little time to patrol and learn the city, I've teamed up with RCT.230 for the time being. He's competent.

There's been a slight... disturbance... in my bliss though. I was fine seeing a man be tortured, got to watch his eye get ripped out. That didn't bother me. It didn't even bother me that he was missing an arm and vomiting blood everywhere. What bothered me was having to preform my first Amputation.... I guess it's always hard the first time. It felt horrible, but the second time I had to do it, Assault Class 2 and Contraband Level 1 (Knife, used to stab someone), it was much easier.  Maybe it just felt justified that time?

I met two of our City Administrators today. Nothing else could be said, though. They seemed rather nice, they even sat us down for lunch. Us being me and 230. 676 was there too, the Officer of GRID. I can't remember the other one's... he was Division Leader, though.

I got through a large amount of my training today, I was rather surprised.

I guess that's it for now, though... into Stasis I go.

---Guess not. Called for a specific duty... Level 1 Violation. Administered a brief beating and dunked him in the bathtub... my head hurts.

1. I forgot the numbers, but 01 of Uniform, I believe. The second one was from a DvL, I believe. Level 1 Contraband and Assault Class 2 (Stabbing a fellow civilian)
2. No one said he felt good about it after.
3. Only witness, no actual procedure.

Text: I heavily debated leaving my Stasis Chamber this day.  I really couldn't find a will to return to the streets.  My actions from yesterday spent the entire time swimming in my head. Thankfully, an overactive imagination of mine took out most of the gore... but two Amputations in a day is something I hope to never have to do again. I will update this log through out the day...

I've decided to enter Stasis early. No new training, no new anything.  We did a sweet of the Subway and Sewers, it was uneventful... Today was about like yesterday.  The beatings don't bother me as much as it should, it's a necessity of the job... I can not stand the Amputations, still. Luckily, I wasn't part of any today.

Text: I came into service today during a rather interesting time. Right in the middle of a Judgement Waiver. I was told to keep civilians in the Apartment Block B. I must have made 6 searches that session. I ran out of ties afterwards.  Only contraband was a single spraycan, no one would fess up to it. I just took it to the Contraband area without much complaint. Later we (all the Recruits) got called up to the Armory. We were asked repeatedly if anyone brought the bomb into the Nexus. I did not understand. No one told me it was a bomb that we were dealing with.

The first was disarmed, but I didn't hear about a second one. I guessed it was dealt with.  Afterwards, I received Firearms training. It went easy enough, thankfully I'd been shooting at a Range constantly before the war.  It went well but I felt like a failure afterwards...  I missed a shot...  Ugh.  I would have felt horrible, but the person after me flat out failed the test... I didn't feel as bad after that.

After that, though. Things got strange for me.  There was no verdict if anyone passed, except that one that failed.  Out of curiosity, I checked up my digits into the console to see if I got awarded...   It seems I haven't been getting verification for a lot of my training. The list was much smaller than what I had completed. I will raise this with the next Officer I am able to talk with, thankfully, there's quite a few of them.

At every turn was a Synthetic as well.  I know they don't harm the CCA, but they still scare the hell out of me.  I'm more scared of them than I am of anything else... Makes no sense. I don't want to know what happens if I come across an Overwatch.

I have sent forth my idea for upgrading the CCA authorized Kevlar suits we're given.  They're excellently made, yes. But they can do with improvement.  Nothing is perfect, but I can strengthen many things about it.

The list I want to implement is as follows:
-Upgrade the Gloves to include a rubber lining on the inside. This is just a personal preference, I've much experience with electricity and do not feel comfortable with THAT MUCH from the stunstick that close to my hand.
-Helmet Shock Absorbents.  I got struck in the head today with a wrench. Of course, it did not hurt, I barely felt it. But the fact that I could still feel it worried me. If the citizen was a little stronger, it could cause neurological damage.
-Kevlar Vesting Upgrade (Stab Resistance).  It's widely known, or was before the war, that Kevlar is mearly fabric and can be torn through with a piercing weapon.  It takes quite a push, but is still able to happen.  I want to implement a small layer of chainmail between the Vesting and the User's Undershirt.  I can make the mail easily and will not add much to the overall weight.

I will pitch this to the GRID Officer the next time I am able to talk to him.

Text: I... don't know the time. Nor the day.  I went into stasis for a while and came out of it.  After a little bit of a walk, there were few civilians, and I noticed a few Civilians run into the CWU square. I called it in and moved along. Suddenly, I had to dodge to the side for some reason... why you may ask?  BECAUSE I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A CAR.  How they got a car, I don't know. I followed it back to the CWU at the DvL's request, tied up a few civilians (//failed ICly...) except one. Before I could tie him up, another Citizen, high up in the CWU building, opened fire on us.  I got struck a few times and was forced to take cover.

Everything else is in a blur of pain and annoyance.  I know one of the CWU took the bullets out of me and patched me up. (//I botched that rp too. -.-) After that I helped carry the DvL to the Medical Bay after some sort of explosion...

All in all... sucky night. I really need to talk to the GRID Officer about those additions, it seems my suit could use a repair also.

Text: Nothing to report recently, I've spent a long time in stasis and even more time out on the street patrolling.  I've seen fewer and fewer Civilians these days, I don't know why. Maybe they're all going underground?  Or finding a way out of the city?

Well, they couldn't have been underground, 040 and I did a sweep of the Subway/Sewers. Found nothing, but I got to wade around in some nasty water and do a small breach.  It was kind of nice, real quiet. I got to use a handgun again, too. No firing range, though.  I still feel bad about the range. 5 targets and I used 7 bullets, it's depressing. My ribs are feeling a lot better, I don't know what's in the biogel, but I'm glad it's in there. I'll talk to the RnD leader of NOVA about upgrading the Biogel, agitating the molecules would increase their responsiveness when placed into a host... Faster acting.

After a brief chat with the GRID Officer, I've decided that I will accept the promotion into APEX.  I get promoted tomorrow, pretty late in the day, so I'm not terribly worried about it.  It won't cure my urge for Science, but I guess there's always spare time.  Maybe G.C. is going to continue the research, I hope he does.

Aside from all that.. boring day.

Not as fun as yesterday, with that Gas Leak and all, but still pretty interesting.  It's strange how I was the only Unit actually working to clear the rubble.. maybe I'm too much for solving problems personally; I need to think like an overlord, not a peon, I guess.

Text: I woke up in my stasis pod, against the schedule.  Something woke me up.  Walking around the chamber, I didn't find anything unusual and attempted to return... no use.  I walked out into the City to find it a Ghost town. All the lights off, no one on the streets. Looked in the complexes, empty.  It only took a short moment after that to realize it was a dream. I walked around quietly, I still felt the need to stalk, and made my way to my old apartment. It was just as I left it, every thing was in place. The gel was setting, the batteries still running. I couldn't place what was wrong. Then I saw it... staring at me like a lost puppy. My Apex armband laying on the table, next to all my science equipment... next to all my notes and journals of creations... like I'd betrayed it.

...I need to find out a way to get back into a lab.

Patrol-Pod-Patrol-Pod-Training-Patrol-Pod... I wonder if we get downtime. If I do... I need to make friends with the GRID guys.  But.. Mechanical constructs aren't really what I'm needing, I need a Lab... a real lab. The problem is, I don't know if NOVA has what I am looking for either. Can I put out an order for something if I'm not in the unit?  Is there a way to transcend all 3 units? I'll talk to some of the High Command next time I can... they mentioned I COULD transfer out, but if I make it a daily occurance, I think they might get annoyed.

I mean, I've no problems being in APEX. Rule the streets and keep things safe... I've no problems with the beatings, it's part of the job. The amputations... I dunno if I'll get used to that.
