IC Character Name: Donte Varjek
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Donte's life has always been based off of simplicity and mediocrity. He carried on with his life with nothing really special, nothing to strive for. He really didn't take interest in anything besides being a good citizen and helping others. Once the Combine had invaded, his life had obviously been changed, he soon after began to adjust to his new city, finding it enjoyable to aid the protectors of the city, the Combine Civil Authority.
Donte, at every time possible, began snitching and cheap shotting people. He wanted to climb up the loyalist ladder a little further. He started doing odd jobs, such as cleaning up garbage, raking up leaves, and even going as far as scraping gum off the Plaza bench's underside. These tasks were quite humiliating. To make matters worse, many people started to dislike and openly insult the man for his attempts to climb to the top, or atleast above the bottom. This had Soon after, he had finally reached it, loyalist status. The perks were great, extra rations, more tokens, ability to open up a business, and the most important part, being trusted by the most powerful faction in the city, The Combine Civil Authority.
Donte started realising that the CCA was the way to go, noticing that they seemed the most fit, had the best perks, and the most power. He had had enough of being the "loyalist scum", while it had its perks, he was harassed and bothered often for his loyalties to the Universal Union. He hated them, and hated them for their hatred of the only thing keeping them alive. He wanted power, power and the ability to ruin the people who were ignorant to the truth, the truth that the Combine were the saviors and that the only way to advance in life was to become one of them.
So Donte Applied for the CCA, attempting to become one of them. This was the peak of his life.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.For Donte I expect the CCA to be mentally hardening, in that I mean I believe that he'll begin to mature more then he already is, perhaps see some disturbing things and harden into a mature CCA unit instead of his old (assuming this gets accepted), stuttering citizen self. It will be an experience of growing from ignorance to intelligence and enlightment.
For me, I expect this to be a whole new ball game, considering I've been a civil protection officer on other servers, but not here. This is the highest population I've been with in a -long- time. I'm eager to begin climbing up the ladder in rank icly gain experience oocly and icly. To put what I'm trying to say in simple terms: I'm here to have fun, and role play my heart out!
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Donte Varjek was born in the mountains in New York under his Russian mother and father. His parents were simple farmers who just grew and harvested corn. As a child, Donte's parents preferred him to take interest in school work and various other things that would prove to advance him up the ladder of society a little higher then themselves. During his adolescent years Donte's life was for the most part, quite mediocre. He went to school, mostly acquired B's, C's and the occasional D, and seemed to be shaping into a fine young man. After a few years he was sent to a community college, his parents unable to pay for another, more respective college.
Then the storms hit, his life was completely ripped apart, as he returned to his old "neighborhood" which was actually just his families farm and miscleneous flat land for a good three miles consisting of him and his parents. It had turned out that head crabs had infested the area, claiming all life in it, which included his parents. He fled in terror, swearing to never return.
After this period he spent time roaming the country side, avoiding almost all the new dangers from Xen. Donte was later picked up by a small military convoy passing by from another strong point established by the United States. He was taken to a small, walled in city which, luckily, was spared from the apocalyptic combine attack that occurred around a year after, which was dubbed the "Seven Hour War".
Soon after the cities were created, thankfully Donte was the correct age to not be executed immediately once reaching one. He took his place in society, roaming around seeming to be Ambition-less. Then it happened, he was transferred from his city to City 45 where he quickly learned being a loyalist had obvious perks and being a "rebel" had only earned others instantaneous death. Donte Varjek had then, at that time, began striving to become a loyalist.
During his time at City 45, Donte became fanatically loyal. About a year after arriving he turned in his application to the CCA to become a dutiful unit. His story had took a turn for the better, or maybe the worse, who knows?
5) Have you ever had a CCA character here at Catalyst Gaming? If so, explain why it was removed.This is my only character, I normally only maintain two characters on each server.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?My most memorable role play experience was probably when I was part of an older community that was mainly StarShipTroopers. We had a massive combat drop from a drop ship, all of us using the entity parachutes. After we landed I was partially in command of operation, thus a lot of responsibility was on my back. The mission proved successful after we "nuked" a "bug" nest by advancing through a series of defensive lines and swarms of Arachnids.
