I feel like you should be able to sell your cars that you do not want anymore for around maybe 66% of what the original price was. Maybe a little for the addons you have on your cars.
-
That's a massive +Support from me. I've wanted this for a while, always been too lazy to suggest it.
-
Nope. Need more moneysinks, not less.

BOOOOO! Like really... thats just not fun. You are still losing money when you sell it, you are just getting SOME of the money back. So, please add this. +support

If this were to be added, it would have to use a huge amount of degradation on the resale value after you have bought it.
Like IRL, you buy a car and try sell it the next year, more common cars and companies will have far larger degradation on the resale value than say a more expensive, reliable car.
So, something like an Audi would lose 5-15% of it's value over the first year (not a year ingame, perhaps a week)
And something like a Vauxhall would lose 15-30% in it's first year (a week ingame)
-
Perhaps, if on the event that it is added, it will only refund a low percentage (50%-25%) of the base price + an equal percentage of what you payed for mods?
Say for example I buy a car for $500,000 and spend $50,000 on mods, for a total of $550,000. When I sell it, all I get back in return is $225,000. This way, if a player buys a car, decides that they don't like it and sells it, they aren't ridiculously poor afterwards.

Unless waffle justifies what he said, unfortunately this wont happen. While we are going with the communities best interest, what he says goes.

Waffle please translate your comment so we know what monkeysinks are...

Moneysinks are things that you spend money on without making a giant profit back from it. -_-

Well, selling your car will not give you a huge amount of money... seeing as how you will most likely go and buy another or spend it... :/

dont agree with selling cars at all

Can we have more non admin people comment on this... just to see and make sure its not just the people who place themselves higher then others are the only ones taking most part.

We've had 2 admins post their opinion. Waffle and Teitoku. I merely stated that it wont be accepted unless waffle changes his opinion cause usually, what he says goes. I have no opinion on this suggestion myself.

Unless there's tons and tons of other moneysinks added to the gamemode I really don't see this as a good idea. OCRP already barely has any and adding a way to get more money isn't good

What about, instead of selling to an NPC, you can sell it to other players. Everything on the car will be the same, meaning it keeps all upgrades when sold. It would work like when you sell items in a shop.
-
Still in theory loses money sinks, a player pays less for your car and you get the money directly, that's already two downsides that will make a huge bump to the money sinks.
The current way works great, as I said, if it were to be put in place the car would need to sell for around 10-15% of the price at which you bought it for.

10-15% is too little

This. You're lucky to get 20%+ for your car if its written off.

misread it, thought it meant 15% off your original price so you'd sell it at 85% which wouldve been dumb lol
ye original is better, 15% of original price

As a representative of the general populous, I would like to send this message out to Kelly Blue Book.
Fuck you!
