03:02 AM Today was the day that I did my best to help the Civil Protection in their duties. First, I requested their assistance to aid an injured, bleeding man who had collapsed on the sidewalk. Thanks to this reques, and their quick response, the man's life was saved and I later saw him walking around. Shortly after, I discovered a box of bandages. The units' response was much slower this time, slow enough for a few other citizens to discover the box and its contents. The result: the theft of three of the five bandages in the container. The person has not been found. However, the remaining bandages were safely delivered to the Civil Protection, and I was given one Loyalist Point. I see the direction I must take now. 02:40 AM This has been a long, interesting day. And it's barely started. After exiting the train from City 8, I headed back to the UCH building to find an apartment. Inside, there was a woman lying on the ground. Another woman, crouched next to her, asked me to help. Using my request device, I called for a CP unit. Suprisingly, one came almost immediately. He took her to the medbay, and the woman went upstairs, accusing another woman of hittinng her. When she saw me, she asked me report her when I saw her again, and if I had a spare jacket. I had one in my suitcase, and I gave it to her. Half an hour or so later, aliens came. First, the ones people call "antlions", then, zombies and headcrabs. A large group of survivors holed up in apartments. I was lucky enough to get an empty one. Finally, a helicopter came and bombed them... but I still hear one, on the bridge... Anyway, afterwards, there were rations. I'm going to make mine last. Joshua Steinberg

08:56 PM Things have been moving quickly in the past week, so I didn't have time to write anything. But I'll tell you this: I'm in City 8 now. I don't even remmeber how I got here. But I'm here now, and I have an apartment with a balcony. I wonder if Evie's here... Well, things are a lot different here. It will take some getting used to, that's for sure. There's a gigantic Citadel here, bigger than the one back in City 14, where I lived years ago. Joshua Steinberg

07:46 PM I was walking across the D2 bridge, trying to find people to report, when a scanner spotted me and took pictures. I knew I was screwed, so I stayed still and put my hands up. I was still holding up my hands when the unit, a GRID unit, came, with a recruit tagging along behind. The GRID tied me up and asked me what I was doing there. I told him I was looking for citizens to report, and amazingly, he said he would let me off with a warning. But, he told me not to go searching for "404's" (law-breaking citizens, I guess) there again. When I got back to the UCH building, a Civil Worker asked me if I liked bananas. He then sold me a banana, which I am about to eat. Mmm, potassium... Joshua SteinbergP.S. Haven't talked to Evie in a while, or even seen her. I'll bet she's busy with some CWU duties. (//and not making out with CPs.) I kinda miss her, but... I haven't been thinking about her as much since I've started drinking the water more often...

07:08 PM Today, a man told me to follow him into District 2. I did, shifting my request device so I could report him when the time was right. He met up with two other people, and together we went into this room referred to as "The Red Room," because of it's red light outside. At this time, I reported the three of them. The threatened to kill me, but it was all talk. When a man knocked on the door, I made my escape, jumping from the open window onto a lower roof, then from there to the ground. I misjudged the distance though, and hurt my legs. I limped over to the ladder near the street enterance to D2, climbd up, and proceeded back to the UCH building and my apartment. Now I am here, writing in my journal, and I hear the sound of Civil portection boots, and many doors opening. Whether or not Civil Portection responded to my request is unknown, but I suppose Ill find out soon enough. Joshua Steinberg

07:43 PM Remember how I said the low death toll today was a good omen? It wasn't. My friend Matt got attacked today. Having recently obtained a request device, FREE, from another citizen, I reported him. And a cop came, and he tried to run. So he was killed. And later, some woman threw this guy from the top of the District 2 bridge. He was in very bad shape, and when the woman came over about five minutes later, I accused her of throwing him. She denied everything, of course, but I recognised her, and some fellow citizens helped me trap her in the Terminal building. I left pretty soon after that; I hope the man was OK. Joshua Steinberg

10:19 AM Interesting stuff has happened today, and it's not even noon yet. First, Evie talked to me. Then, a CP came into the UCH and leaned on the wall. Then, RATIONS, which is good, because I was running low on money. That CWU tea is good stuff. Finally, the room I bought had a bed and some other furniture. No more sleeping on concrete platforms in warehouses for me. And only three people have died today! If you ask me, I'd say it's a good omen. And that you can't trust good omens. Joshua Steinberg

06:34 PM I have finally put my aforementioned contraband, the radio, to good use. A group of self-proclaimed "Raiders" have accepted me in, and I can finally DO something with it instead of lugging it everywhere. Not sure if we're against the Universal Union or are just some street gang, but hey, I didn't want to die alone. Now instead of jst me in a cell, there will be about five people in separate cells, who I may catch a glimpse of now and then between interogations. I can't stop thinking about Evie, she's the only person I can feel comfortable talking with, let alone the only Civil Worker. Even though it was only once, during an inspection, in a trainstation, I feel as though we can hold some sort of conversation. Here's hoping I can talk to her more often. Joshua Steinberg

9:19 AM The CWU just opened a store in front of their HQ, they have lots of stuff. Who knew they had donuts?!?! I mean, this is supposed to be some totalitarian society where the words "police brutality" have no meaning. And there are fucking DONUTS. It blows my mind. Bad news is, Evie's sick with something. She looks horrible. I really hope she gets better soon, she seems nice. Joshua Steinberg
